If Grandma was to live another 20 years she would have been 99 years old. He should have been sentenced to 20 years in prison, Justice would be served because the victim would have lived maybe for another 20 years with good healthcare and no mishaps. He must serve some jail time for contributing to her death, but life in prison is a little harsh, when her death was not due to him directly. In other words her heart could have been weak long before said occurence.

My argument doesn’t need to prove one way or another. Just that there is enough reasonable doubt that no one can say for sure that he is directly responsbile.

People should learn the laws and know what they’re up against before they go breaking them. Each state has it’s own set of laws that may not make sense to the rest of the country. If someone dies during the commission of a felony, for ANY reason, including if God decides to call that soul home at that moment and the person would have died even if the felony hadn’t occurred, then it is felony murder.

The law is there to strongly discourage the committing of felonies by making the punishment extreme. If one is going to be brazen enough to act in such disregard to others, they deserve whatever consequences they have EARNED.
