@RE- There are many people who think they are this or that. I remember when saying I was a Christian, but was doing things that were un-Christian like. In the word it reads consistenly to examine oneself and I did. I realized that “hey if I am a Christian I can’t do this or that or no longer can do this or that”. I can’t be lukewarm either I am or I am not and I AM for God and his word.

If given the opportunity witness. There are so many muslims who have converted that people dont know about. I have a friend who is in the process of converting and I was in her ear but I was never pushy I just let her see for herself. Planted those seeds. But if they follow the same God as you but call him something different is that wrong? I am Catholic and I don’t follow everything that Baptist, Presbyterians, Methodist belive does that mean I am wrong too?

Look into the religions of others. Jewish and muslims share some of the same principles including eating. Did you know that if Muslims can’t find meat that is hala they will eat kosher meat? Did you know that muslims believe in Jesus but do not place the emphasis on him that christians do?

I would rather see Loon being positive in something he believes in and not in the news on gun charges

@REDFOXX- See, I had this issue on another site it could be as simple as saying “have a blessed weekend” or if asked how I was doing I would sometimes say “blessed”, but in the word it says “ACKNOWLEDGE HIM IN ALL YOUR WAYS”. I would get folks saying that I act like this or that, but if they only knew how much I have been through and how far God has brought me. From watching my father, who was and still is a huge part of me take his last breath at 3:00pm July 28, 2006, to it taking 3 hours for them to get his body (he p*****ed at home) even now w/my mom battling stage 3 breast cancer, but God has and is still bringing me through. I know what it means to wake up with in my right mind as the old Preachers would say from things I’ve went through.

And I can see your viewpoint, but I take into consideration of the fact that there are PLENTY of religions around the world including Islam that are peaceful religions. These people are born into it and grow up knowing and loving it just like you do with your faith. I am a Christian and I believe that the teachings in my faith are the end all be all, but those people feel the same way about their faith. Who are we to judge every single last one of them based off a few extremists actions that don’t represent the religion as a whole? Christian KKK members to this day believe that it is a sin for races to mix and for blacks to have certain liberties but that doesn’t mean that everyone in the Christian race is hateful and divisive. I think the problem with Islam is not the religion itself (the prayers are beautiful), but the fact that the majority of Muslims, who are moderate, do not speak out enough against the violence that the few fanatics are doing around the world (especially in Pakistan). A lot of moderate Muslims fear being lableled a traitor to their religion and blah blah blah so they fear speaking out against the fanatics, and therefore allow them to continually perpetuate the *****umption that Islam is a violence-promoting religion. There are a lot of violent acts carried out in the name of Islam, so naturally after awhile, people will start to *****ociate violence and Islam. The best way to combat this (if you’re a Muslim) is not to be apolegetic about the violence and try to justify it by saying, “Christians are violent too!” Look at the facts, as far as “terrorist” acts go, people who claim to be True Muslims, got that on lock! Instead, be a representative for what you believe is the truth of this religon. Let the voices of peace be louder than these voices of hatred and violence. Then people can look at Islam and see peace rather than think of violence. It may not be fair to *****ume that all Muslims are violent, but the world ain’t fair (we here should all know that). So represent Islam the way it should be, and speak out against the Muslims who are trying to force Islam to indeed be about violence and hatred.

Yeah that’s me the devout wife. Now I am being the devout Catholic and not getting divorced. Well mainly because I will lose money. But when I was on my last ship, I had to give all the muslims on board mad respect. Especially when it comes to Rhamadan(sp). Fasting? Shoot I barely make it though one day on Ash Wednesday. But being my firends I made sure that they had a tray of food waiting for them at sundown. It is more of a respect for someone else that I would want to give to me.

As far as the husband? Well when it came to pork, I got a new pan just for so I could cook a pork chop in my old pan. BUt I will respect someone else’s beliefs as long as you respect mine.

All I’m saying is that people all over the planet have been raised and brought up like you and I to love and cherish their faith. They have gone through trials and tribulations like us and have been delivered through those things JUST LIKE US. So, for us to come forcing something down their throat about what we believe which is basically a variation or sideways semantics in what they believe is a quagmire to me. Just like we wouldn’t want them forcing their beliefs on us. Again, we don’t have to agree with everything but I try to respect each man on this planet that respects me in return. I can’t get with folks that devil worship or mock my faith but I can respect a jewish, muslim, buddhist, hindu, or fellow christian and IMHO that’s all that can be done. Do I believe that Christianity is the way? Yes I do and I believe that we should spread the good news but it can be done without making people feel as though their way of life or choice of faith is beneath ours…that’s all I’m saying…

I don’t want to start another verbal scuffle, but I have to say that although you disavow being a judge and say that you have love for everybody, several of you statements about Muslims and Islam have been flat out wrong (factually wrong) and I don’t know if this stems from lack of knowledge, but it sounds like spite. I know I am biased in hearing this, being Muslim myself, but still I am trying to decide whether you are being intentionally inciteful or what.

You can disagree with what you want. I disagree with Christianity in doctrine for the idea of the trinity amongst other things, that does not make sense to me. You can disagree with things doctrinally as much as you want, but my point is that you made several statements about things that you attributed to Islam that are just (factually) wrong (For example, that women get no inheritance from deceased parent.) Before you cast dispersions on the faith of 1 out of 4 people in the world, it is likely best that you know what represents faith, teaching and doctrine for the people with whom you disagree, versus things you just have heard. You even got the story wrong about someone being stabbed or ran over. Perhaps you should listen to what people are telling you about some of this.

Some of you are completely ignorant of Freeway. He was born a Sunni Muslim, he did not just convert. If you listen to his lyrics you can hear that he puts his beliefs in them. Not all Muslims promote violence and hatred, that’s like saying all Catholic priests molest boys. I think if people start educating themselves on religion (Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, etc) you can actually learn something and see that we all connect somewhere. And yes, there’s a difference between Nation of Islam and the actual Islamic faith. N.O.I is more like a organization.

Only 20% or so of muslims are arabs, they mostly come from Africa, also included are India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and the other countries in Southeast Asia, China has a decent population of muslims, Guyana in South America, Indonesia in Asia has the Largest muslim population, and there is more obviously.
