Obama Expected to Explain Afghanistan War Strategy Next Week

President Barack Obama has held a final strategy session with top aides to decide on whether to send more U.S. troops to Afghanistan. The President plans to announce his decision within days, according to the White House.

The session took place in the Situation Room on Monday with officials including Vice President Joe Biden, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Defense Secretary Robert Gates marking the ninth meeting.

Obama is nearing a decision on whether to add as many as 40,000 troops to an eight-year-old war that began after the September 11 attacks. This decision plays a vital part in Obama’s promise to the American people to end this war and bring troops home. Many Obama supporters are waiting on this decision to see if President Obama’s presidency is what they have been expecting.

Simone, it’s not Obama’s call to make. Those oil mongers have a goal. Daddy Bush started it and that war will not end until HE says it’s over. It’s above taking something that doesn’t belong to America….

Once they solidify sole possession of the oil in the middle east, whether that’s by persuasion or aggression, it will be done.

If not, it will mean doom for the U.S.

Obama has nothing to do with this…he’s a ***** in a much bigger game. It’s an OPEC thing…not U.S. thing.

Terrorist camps, training, funding and hiding happens all over the war. The cell centre ( the power fouse unit of terrorism) is Saudia Arabia, when Bin Laden was born and bred!

You also have Egypt, Ethopia, Somalia, Sudan, Dafur, Jordan, Pakistan, Algeria and much more countries, so focuses soely on Afghanstain, it pointless and wasteful within itself. We are fight terrorist around the world, are shipping in more terrorist (with their arab and african oil funds) than we have funds or troops!

Afghan gets their funding directly from Saudi Arabia.

Most of the Afghanis very self sufficient or live in extreme poverty , they receive no funding from the Saudi’s in the least.

There is no solution to this war , which is essentially ongoing in Pakistan anyways where all the real issues lie. The only way to ‘win’ aside from this pointless exercise in nation building is to worry more about the myriad of issues we have domestically…

But, in order to show just how big you are and how big your guns are, they are doing this. Other countries have already harnessed the power of clean fuels and solar energy, but not America and Britain!

what country takes a large percentage of their power from renewable sources or clean fuels? While many have begun bringing in solar power, wind power into their power grids no one has stopped using fossil fuels. I think only Iceland but thats because they sit on top of natural hot springs that give them steam energy

When I say harness, I mean to say they already use clean fuel sources in various sectors of their nation or societies to prove that they do work….not that these are across national grids as of yet, so I’m not implying that.

The U.S. has scrapped alternative fuels sources sine the 70’s and the electric car was out LONG before Honda got their hands on that technology but America considered it a bust because it would make no money when oil was the game.

This is my point. There have been several attempts at alternative fuel sources only for the gov to reject it in favor of oil. Other countries have been using other methods of transportation for years that require less and less fuel to power their cars, homes, etc.

So it has been tapped into…just not by America.

Think about this.

Remember when Sarah Palin was running for Vice? Rmemeber how all of a sudden people who never knew oil was in Alaska foudn this out? Remember how all of a sudden Russia raised their heads out of the water when they talked about the oil reserves their?

See, America never talked about Afghanistan because they weren’t the ones doing business with the OPEC nations.

BUT, Britain and America knows there are more oil fields over there and Afghanistan doesn’t want them digging trying to find what could be there.

It’s all a game of dominance and rights. America can tell their people whatever they want. But only geoscientists and geoengineers really know whats over there and this is who the gov talks to to figure out what the potential markets are for resources.

I dont know what you are even saying initially , I presume that you are saying that I dont understand the situation, I wrote my central thesis on Afghanistan to graduate so im dying to see what I dont understand about Afghanistan.

First our relationship with the region of Iraq and Afghanistan exceeds decades, long before Sarah Palin was even sperm. The only people that do not know about vast oil resources in this country are no different than the millions of americans ignorant to things simple as the constitution , bill of rights or their own social security numbers. That being a seperate issue aside itself , as its pretty clear why the U.S. can only utilize some of the domestic resources we have in Oil as there are issues with processing the type of Oil commonly found in the United States in comparison to other regions in the world.

You think Karzai is really that focused on Oil issue in Afghanistan , What does his brother Ahmed Wali Karzai do again ? How much in the billions does he profit from that business abroad internationally ? How come we have occupied Iraq coming close to a decade , what is the percentage of Oil Fields that are actually operational in that country ? Where is the money being spent in both countries and where is the profit coming from ? Granted ill give you its a game of dominance and rights as in everything but heh there is far more involved that the pittance of geoscience

What strategy? There is no strategy. The truth of the matter is we sent our entire military when we should have sent the Special Ops teams who adapt and fight the same ways our enemies are fighting us. We (USA) capture POW’s and they get lawyers and fed by taxpayers. They catch POW’s and chop their heads off on Youtube mocking us all.

The point being:The Republicans need to get their heads out of their behinds and realize. We cannot help the Middle East until its people are willing to stand up to help themselves. Didnt we learn anything from Vietnam?

In the meantime it would be in our best intrests as Americans to take care of our own problems. The Middle East is due for a Civil War. The Middle East dosent need our help or military. They need all their kids coming over here getting educated to go back and help their country. Not stay over here in America and ***** about how we treat their country.

Sorry but it has to be said. Theres no winning in the Middle East. You cannot defeat a beleif system founded on terror. Genghis Kahn couldnt do it, the Romans couldnt do it, the Russians couldnt do it and we cant either.

i totally agree! why overthrow a government (taliban, saddam) when the people in those countries arent even united to try to fight for their own liberation! the only thing that kept iraq and afghanistan from breakin up into tribal/*****vincial factions was the brutality and fear that saddam and the taliban used to keep everyone in check!

Honestly, I don’t look at politics microscopically. I look at trends. I read alot of books on the history of what makes nations what they are. It’s that understanding that helps me see the bigger picture.

Players change all the time based on the time and the economic climate of the world at the time…but agendas never change.

So as far as Karzai and his exact role in Afghanistan and the U.S.? It’s a good question but I couldn’t tell you bro.

I CAN tell you this much about what I gather about this guy. Obviously, his relationship with the U.S. has caused major strains between him and the people of Afghanistan because before his second term election, you had rebel groups going nuts!

Anytime you see that kind of activity, you know there is a factor of that society against the change either coming or trying to be worked out that will have a significant impact on that country/nation/land.

Once again, good question on WHAT his exact role is on all of this. But I bet it has a lot to do with what happened in Africa years ago when there was involvement with Britain, the Roman Catholic church….and the U.S. military when they suckered a man into selling the rights of an oil field he discovered and Britain tricked him into giving it to the church thinking he was doing a good deed.

America and Britain has been over in the Middle East ever since!

True, it’s bigger than oil….much bigger. the church is heavily involved as well.

as a soldier in the armed forces, i personally think its pointless to still be in that region, they tell us we’re “defending freedom” yet our very own freedom is compromised by the so called “appointed officials” the sad truth is that our country thrive & profits off war, so i honestly see no end in it…they tell us thyre gonna withdraw troops to get appointed to office but really the thought never even crossed thier minds, i spent 18months in afghan worried about being shot @ or a victim of IED(roadside bomb) and its sad to see that after those 18months no “solution” has been proposed, we as soldiers love our country but we are so sick and tired of seeing our friends & brothers killed everyday & not seeing the end soon….if i offend any1 im sorry but its the sad truth, WE DONT WANNA FIGHT ANYMORE!!!

Its just like Sgt. Hickson said. After a time no one is going to want to fight. Its useless. Besides how does it look to our soliders. They go to a foreign country to build schools and houses. But the school their kid goes to in America lacks funding and is closing down. They are over there building houses while they one the left here is being forclosed on.

Its really just that sad.
