Celebrities are really stepping up for the holidays, well at least in Atlanta. Akon, Big Boi and Ludacris had a food drive yesterday, handing out 2000 turkeys, greens, sweet potatoes and the fixings to go with it to families that are less fortunate so that they will be able to have food on the table for Thanksgiving.

With people still feeling the effects of the recession, this is definitely a gesture that has brought smiles to a lot of families that are in need.

The lambo’s and flashy cars is part of what the community wants to see with these artists. It is party of the show. Yes, they are giving back, but it is also about kids being able to see celbs in person. There are far more than 2000 families that need help with Thanksgiving dinner but it is the gesture that counts. The cars, chains are part of the show. If they didn’t bring them everyone would be asking why didn’t you bring your lambo. BTW: is anything these rappers do really tactful?

It should be noted that the man who is photographed with them is Kasim Reed he is running for Mayor in a run off election aganist Mary Norwood. If Norwood wins she will be the first white mayor of Atlanta in almost 30 years.

All of the entertainers in atlanta support Kasim Reed. There was a big fundraiser that Akon’s label headed, all the celebs were there. JD, Monica, Keri Hilson, Polow, and the rest of the celebs that are pictured on here week after week, too bad you didn’t coverage of that.

It’s ashame when black people do good things it goes barely unnoticed but let them have gotten arrested or anything negative and there would be hundreds of post. For all the people talking about what type of car they are driving so what they are helping out people. What r u doing?
