British singer Leona Lewis is featured on the cover of the July 2008 issue of Blender magazine. This chick is constantly being compared to Mariah Carey, but we hear that she is much more humble and a little less crazy.

Leona is absolutely gorgeous!!! She CAN really sing her skinny little butt off too. I got her cd and was really impressed w/ her vocals. She isn’t exactly Mariah Carey, but give her some time. She really has some perfect vocals on the cd. This is her 1st big album…just wait…

hell yeah leona is the next big superstar. mariah is still buying her record sales ’cause her music has sucked for the past 10 years. now she’s aging, and marrying people for publicity. leona doesn’t have to do any of that, and she’s humble. she’s not self-obsessed like that other one. and leona really is half black.

If anyone thinks that Leona doesn’t compare to Mariah, you need to youtube the performance of ‘Summertime’ on the X-Factor (British version of American Idol) and hear the note she hits at the end. Mariah is a legend so of course their careers shouldn’t be compared but vocally Leona’s *****ting all over Mariah’s wack Touch My Body *****.

But I still think Mimi got her in terms of the octaves. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if Leona eventually catches up to her vocally, because Mimi is too busy showing off her boy toy, flashing that rock, and lip-synching on live t.v. instead of putting out decent music (reference the recent performance on the today show).
The quality of her music has deteriorated over the years. I HATED Touch My Body and I have been a Mimi fan from the jump!

The next Mariah? When Mariah first came out with “Vision of Love” she didn’t get all the attention just based on how she looked and who she reminded people of, it was based on pure talent and the fact that she could sing like a pro. “Bleeding Love” is a horrible song to me and I don’t even understand why people like it. It is so corny. Her vocals get a C-. Mariah annoys me with the whisper singing thing she does, but we all know she slays Leona vocally any day. If Mariah had any sense she would not care about this b*tch and just sit back and count her stacks. Plus remember all the records she broke and the fact that she has a successful album out now. Anyway…what’s up Beyonce!
I watched the X-Factor show here in London that Leona won and trust me, she was the best there was. I think that MC is someone that she looks up to and therefore mimics some of her style and maybe that’s where the comparison comes from. Her song Bleeding Love grew on me as do a lot of songs that come out. I wouldn’t call her corny at all and she can definitely sing, she just needs to find her own style. As for her being boring, she’s only just come out and she’s extremely shy. She’s a local girl that we used to see all the time that isn’t used to all of the attention that she is now receiving. In the beginning MC was quite boring as well and stage presence (in some) comes with time and experience. Give her a break and stop slating her before she has time to grow.
