Just wanted to talk about the guy that he met at a party while in the long distance relatationship with "Derby".

Well the guy's name in the book was "Maximo". In the book he is one of a four member R&B group from the 90's.

He is described as an attractive man with a very muscular body, and was the shortest member of the group.

Any way long story short he is none other than Gary "Lil G" Jenkins of the the 1990's R&B group Silk!! (Read for your self) It's in the chapter Money.Power and Respect.

TriniGeisha, you are beyond stoopid. The factors you mentioned DON'T factor into anyone's sexual orientation. Sexual Orientation simply just is....take your ignorant back-porch philosophies elsewhere, please.

Let me educate u Americans (I'm from Trinidad and Tobago). Most African American and even Black Caribbean men are gay!!! Most Black males grow up without a father or a father figure, and as a result they seek out relationships with men and they eventually become eroticised (sexual). Compounding this is the fact that Black males suffer from a profound sense of inferiority about their masculinity and place in society because of how they are treated and viewed on a whole. Also alot of them are victims of child molestation because Black women (their mothers) have "visiting units" and these boyfriends and men tend to molest these boys. So Terrance Dean could expose and brag all day long, the fact is probably everybody's gay. People just need to be honest, protect themselves, their partners and get help.

@ macwell--

Let me first explain that I am in no way bashing anyone's lifestyle. My feelings are so that--if a man is in a committed relationship--why choose to go outside of it--sexually or otherwise with ANYONE!

Let me put it this way--how many men "troll the stroll" looking for sex and end up with a tranny? Do they turn the tranny away? Hell no! Then they go home to their significant others and hop in the bed all willy nilly! Does that act make this man a homosexual? By definition, I would say yes but how many men think otherwise? Probablly quite a few. These very same men who feel that way would most likely not think twice about keeping it on the DL.

Now there are some gay men that choose to keep their lifestyle a secret for many reasons but I don't think it's because of their feelings--I think it's because how THEY feel that they will be accepted--or not.

Why are so many black people ignorant? I'm sorry its supposed to be my culture but as an openly gay black male it is disturbing to see how much black people hate others yet want complete acceptance from everyone else. I have seen too many black people hate themselves, other succesful blacks, whites, gays, and the list can go on. I truly feel sorry for my own race sometimes.

And oh yeah - gay men don't have to be on the DL. There are those of us who enjoy very fulfilling lives living as we are - no 'hiding' necessary.
