Good day, Bossip readers! Over the last few weeks we’ve published a few articles about men and women and the ongoing battle that is, obviously, gender specific. One would think that since there are only two simple genders, it shouldn’t be as difficult as it is, at times, to co-exist! Men and women have walked the earth for ions, so why have we not yet mastered communication? Could it be that men and women tend to recognize the negative before the positive?
Reading through the thread from “10 Things Women Hate About Men,” one comment in particular was the inspiration behind today’s post. It read: “OMG, Bossip. When are we gonna talk about the things that we love about men and vice versa?” Or something along those lines. That’s a good question! We decided to talk to the same women who provided the statements for the previous post and asked them what they love about men vs. what they “hate.” Sadly, it took much longer for some to fire off the things they love, but they could spew hate in nanoseconds. So, in the name of love, let’s approach our beloved counterparts with love and positivity! We asked the gents the same and their thoughts will be posted also. Ladies, leave your thoughts! I love when a man doesn’t talk too much. Like less talk and more action, do you know what I mean. Like, I like to know that a man’s word is his bond. If he says he’s going to be there, he’s there, no questions asked. I don’t want to have to call him mid-afternoon to confirm plans that were made only for him to cancel. I like when a man is like: “Yes. I said I would be there. I would’ve called if anything changed.” I like a man who means what he says and does it. - Kimberly, 35
I love a man who’s not afraid to get dirty. If I could give you an example I guess it would be a situation where the dishwasher is not working and I know, without a doubt, that my man can and will fix it. I guess it’s just a general know-how. Know how to fix things. Know how to put stuff together. Know how to cut the grass! Corporate men, and I love them too, kind of lack a certain kind of manishness. I love the scent of a man. Some men, I love their natural body scent, you know, you can smell it around their neck. Or if a man wears some good smelling cologne and I can smell it on my clothes or on my sheets. There’s just something about the smell of a man that really does something to me. I like when a man has enough swag to guide me. Does that make sense? I like a man who will grab my hand and guide me across the street by the small of my back. Top things women like about guys. Note, this is not all encompazzing, but it does touch on quite a few in a broad way:
1) They have a job, and are paid…Or can at least take you out to dinner, and catch the tab…
2)When we dress well and have good hygeine…Even the most average looking guys can get girls if they dress well, and smell nice…
3)Good sense of humor, and interesting… Who wants to hang out with a bore??
4)If we’re good looking, because let’s face it, no woman is gonna meet you and think to themselves “Wow, look at the brain on that guy!!!
5) When we are protective, and make a woman feel secure, women love it….(Meaning, you don’t cheat, or if you do, you make sure she never finds out!!! LOL!!)
6) When we are confident in ourselves and our abilities…

The considerate things I have done for a woman:
1)Sent flowers to her job when she said she was having a bad day…
2)Took her on vacation to Puerto Rico, placed Hershey’s kisses leading in a trail from the door to the bedroom…When she asked why they were there, I told her I wanted to kiss the ground she walked on….
3)Sent her and my mother to a spa for the day to get m*****ages, facials and pedicures…
4) Put “Can’t wait to see you” notes on her car…
5)Bought her an entire new wardrobe, cause she didn’t like a sweater that was old…..

Two things:
I appreciate men who have follow through (when they say they’re going to do something they almost always get it done).
I appreciate men who treat their women with the same respect they gave them when they were first courting. It kills me that all of the things that made us feel special in the beginning gets taken away because men become “comfortable.”

I think it has a lot to do with people getting “BIG EYED”…By that, I mean sometimes little kids will get a plate of food, start eating it, and hind out that there was more than they thought…Then their mother gets all mad because food goes to waste…Same thing with relationships…Guys often get a good woman, then find out that being with her is work!! Doing the right thing is work!! Keeping a job and not running the streets is work, so they become overwhelmed…..That answer it?? Not to mention that more times than not, women are successful in the workplace, whereas some black men aren’t…That often acts as a blow to their egos…It’s not that they “hate” you, they just lash out at the closest one to them because they figure you’ll be there….

But see, that’s the problem these days…Men want to get in a woman’s pants before they even get to know the person…As a man, you have to be willing to let your woman be right some of the time, too because contrary to what you may think you’re not always right…And as a man you also have to be there and encourage your woman, help her when you see she needs it and in return, she needs to do the same for you…It’s a 2 way street! It’s also your job to make her feel wanted, loved and adored…Even if you aren’t rich, there are things that you can do to show that you care, but a lot of guys don’t even bother…The small things are usually what count the most, and I do nice things for women I date all the time…Not that I have to, but because I want her to treat me the same way I treat her…With consideration… REAL TALK…
