@my 2 cents – they do. Cold sores are a form of herpes, never goes away, just goes dormant til the next time. Although it’s not the same (type a and b) of the genital herpes, you can still spread it, even to a genital area from your mouth (or vice versa), if you have a cold sore…

This is not true. Most people ARE NOT born with any kid of herpes. Babies that are born w/ herpes can be premature, brain damaged, blind, etc. Perhaps you meant that most people will get a cold sore (form of herpes) in their life? ANY virus you ever contract stays in you system forever, whether it be a common cold (you only “catch” a cold once in your life) or HIV.

Yep. That information is correct. I did a report on it in high school. Everyone has this virus, & it lives along the spine. It just breaks out on some people, and on others it doesn’t. These can also be flared by fevers. Hence the term — “fever-blisters.”

Yes this is correct. Most dont seem to understand the difference between the two. Why I said earlier if you had Simplex 2 then there would be no mistaking it. People see folks develop a cold sore and think automatically you got simplex 2.
