Fershgenet Melaku was born in Ethiopia, but was raised in Washington D.C. She is part Ethiopian (Mother), part Afro-Trinidadian (Father). As a hip hop model she goes under the aliases Angel or Lola Luv; as a rapper she goes under the alias Lola Monroe, adopting ‘Monroe’ from the late Marilyn Monroe. Angel was found by professional photographer/model agent Mike Styles, CEO of his own Modeling Agency Style Entertainment.
