Nas talks politics:

“There never been a president to address the slaughter of young black people by this country’s police. When your government’s police are killing one section of people, that’s genocide. There’s never been a president to even acknowledge it. You don’t acknowledge that? That’s a big thing President Obama has to recognize when he gets in office. I’m five presidents in … and I ain’t seen nothing happen to stop the police murders on young, black people,” he added. “Why would I believe in the system? With that being said, I think Barack can cure that disease and help cure the country. Not just in that area with us blacks, but also with all Americans. Women are getting treated like dogs. You know how hard it is for a woman to prove she was raped? The system is warped. They throw young guys — who’s starving — in jail just trying to survive on the streets. Throw them in jail forever. Young kids, 18 years old, executed in Texas. Yet, child predators get to come home and do it again. I think it’s so much our president can do. [Obama] seems like a human being. I say that because a lot of presidents don’t seem like human beings. They seem like straight-up businessmen who care about nothing but the business. Nah, you gotta care about the people.”

When your government’s police are killing one section of people, that’s genocide.

    *************************************************

The police don’t kill enough people to call it genocide. How many black people did police kill in LA last year? Now compare that to the number of black people that were killed by other black people.

We are committing genocide against ourselves. I’d prefer Barack or any president address that. Let’s be real. Nas is not even educated. Why do people think he is so smart? He’s not.

  • http://www.gravatar.com Re

I’m going to be straight up honest. I found out through various books that Nas is so reckless at and totally irresponsible, never came around to take care of his daughter, etc- all this was going on while he was preaching about some wonderful things on his rhymes. I was so devasterd, and it’s really hard to take him seriously because he’d conflict everything he rapped about to the tenth power. And I bought the majority of his albums.

With that said, I do agree with that statement above, it’s very honest. I hope this guy can get his life together, cause it seems like his heart is in the right place.

  • http://www.gravatar.com Re

    @Cage

Yeah, that is one of them. When I read it I thought, “Well, this is coming from a suspect person anyway,” so I tried to stick by Nas cause I really like his music. But I read another hip hop book a couple years back (can’t remember the name, but it was about a music producer and the rappers he dealt with), and it pretty much explained how Nas is really overly hypocritical.

I think the producer even said Nas and the baby-mother were going to be evicted cause he blew all the tour money on himself.

But who isn’t hypocritical to a certain degree right? Plus, Nas was damn near a baby with too much money coming in at one time.

  • SMDH

“Please lets not start the “black male bashing” up in here people, lets have civilized conversations without the use of racial slurs like coons and n___as…Thanks”

Um, if you’re referring to me I said “the BLACK MALE”.. I have used no derogatory names – YET!!!

And if you consider telling the black male to own up to his actions and the role he plays within his ever-ongoing strife with the police and black on black viloence/crime (which claims more black male lives in a year than cop on black male killing does in a decade) “black male bashing” then you are being delusional..

  • http://www.gravatar.com Re

Of course I don’t believe that crazy lady, (read my last comment), she’s the same chick that will describe other males she slept with in a book. She’s wack.

    Anyways, Happy Thursday peoples!!!

what nas said…but he should add that police are not the only ones killing young black people, they are killing themselves…

Right – and I stand behind that.. More black males kill black males in 1 year than cops kill black males in 10 years!!

Maybe you should go look it up, DUMMIE. ;-)

  • Keesha

    @ Miss Lady Jordan

I didn’t see it but he is definitely still in love with her. He has a song called “Something You Forgot” or at least I think that’s what it’s called. Anyway, the whole song is about her and how much he misses and loves her. It’s really sweet and nostalgic. She probably left him due to the drugs.

  • Lauren

    @SMDH

Um, if you’re referring to me I said “the BLACK MALE”.. I have used no derogatory names – YET!!!

When you see me type @ SMDH that means I am speaking to you other than that I generalized the statment so that you could read it….

And I do agree with you on the black on black crime statements, because I also stated that I do not believe that the cops are killing more than us, you are right, but when does name calling help any situation, you have not done it yet…AND thank u for that

  • Lady Architect

he speaks much truth. I’m glad to see stars back behind Obama. I hope they vote.

  • http://WWW.TOUROFATLANTA.COM KINGDEON-COM

I agree, but black men and all men of color have to make better choices. It is pass due for men to take responsiblity for their family and their kids.

How are you going to provide for your yourself/family/kids in this era without an education or the willingness to work hard in a legal job everyday?

P.S. If you don’t grind, then you won’t shine.

  • missladyjordan

@ Keesha…wow I know that song I didnt know it was to her…..you know what the bad thing is? Nivea JUST got divorced from the Dream like they just got a divorce..it sounds to me like they tryin to make it happen now….eww

  • WordzOfaProphet

Im glad Nas did speak and say what he said. The problem is getting most young people to vote and if Hip Hop has as much an influence as the world seems to say they have. Young Black Americans would vote and do the right thing to get this man in office. Im voting cuz I was waiting on this. When I turned 18 Bush was already in office, so Im voting 4sure. And Nas is very much on point and he never said anything about the man being BLACK, he just said he was “human being” who cared about people more than the business.

  • WHAT IT IZ

I cogsign on that statement cat eyes go tell that to CAGE up there who aint vote in the last 8 years, he needs help

  • I’m Just Me

GET IT NAS!!! PREACH BABY PREACH! Get on it! Yes it is practically impossible for a woman to prove she was raped. The first question seems to be what did you have on, as if that should matter in the least. They do through young kids in jail for YEARS for minor stuff and let pedos and child molesters back out after serving the minimum sentence in a medium or minimum security prison. That is crazy! I think Nas is on point here.

  • ewww

    @ Bird

You hit it right on the nail! It is not the government that is killing off black people. It is black people that are killing each other! All these thugs wanna do is “hustle in the streets to make a living” as if that same hustle is no the hustle that turns up thousands of dead young men, women, and children. I am soooo sick and tired of folks depending on the president or everybody else to fix what they can fix themselves. The economy is an issue the president will deal with. These dumb knuckle heads killing each other over illegal drugs and crackhead customers is not the presidents resposibility! It is up to those huslters to realizes that the hustle aint worth dying for and that they need to finish school, go to college and get an education. geez!

  • kigali aka weavesR 4 trannies

I dont know about this one. When I send my young black male cousins out on the street, the least I am concerned about is them getting killed by the police. If they get killed by another black male, because blacks are convinced that they dont deserve any justice so there is a ‘No Snitchin’ policy, my family will never see any justice. If my brother or my cousins gets killed by the police, there is a greater chance someone may go to jail or my family will get some compensation.

  • COME ON

To Bird: don’t hate on smart naz, appreciate him.

Yup. I love that song. It shows a different side of him. He talks about her daughter and references the Dream in the song. It seems like after he left her(or she left him)it all went down hill. She’d be a fool to get back with him now. For the sake of her daughter she really needs to wait until he gets it together.

People, please read before we begin attacking. Come on.

  • tj

Ignorant rambling. What about the blacks killing blacks on the streets is the government supposed to fix that too? What about the blacks killing cops? As for pedophiles being put back on the streets does he propose we kill them. Nas makes a lot of good points in his lyrics but he should stay in the realm of the poetic. If he think Obama can stop violence in the ghetto than he is crazy. Only people who can stop violence in the ghetto are the people in the ghetto. Him making songs about not only continuing but participating in the violence doesn’t help. Once again SMH at hip hop buffoons

  • Ugh

I respect Nas for speaking out but take issues with:

    1. His misuse of the term genocide. Rwanda, Darfur, Myanmar? THAT’S GENOCIDE. I don’t mean to quantify death, but cops killing black people here is murder, but hardly genocide.

    2. His inaccurate facts-90% of crimes against our people, are committed BY OUR PEOPLE, not by cops.

    3. “They throw young guys — who’s starving — in jail just trying to survive on the streets. Throw them in jail forever”. Nas, our people would survive on the streets and wouldn’t be subject to imprisonment if they spent more time focusing on an EDUCATION, and not hustlin’ to emulate weak azz rappers as role models. I grew up in South Side Queens and saw it for myself. But my parents were involved in my life and kept my azz in check and insisted I go to school and not always hanging on the streets.

    4. We need to stop hoping for others to come and solve our problems. Barack Obama is not going to be elected and all of a sudden our problems are going to disappear. We need to save ourselves, PERIOD.

  • glok9n

There was somebody already here on Earth waiting for you to be born,so that they could stand between you and You and Your Ordained Life Destiny. You were born directly into the hands of sin,and eventually shaped into the minds of their inequity. This happened to us all.We think like they have taught us to think. Our enemy taught us that we were nothing no more than no good nappy- headed non -thing niggrz… and we believed our enemy…and that manifest itz self in ur ppl as they become teenagers and adults…it never steemed from us we just adopted that behavior…Itz no our fault so stop blaming yourselfs!!!

I’m not hating. I’m speaking the truth. Nas is as ignorant as 50 Cent. The only differance is he speaks ignorantly on social issues and 50 just talks ignorantly in general. Nas’ statement defends drug dealing which is the real root of black genocide and blaming it on police who have to face down negroes and latinos who would kill them for fun.

rock on, i don’t believe that what we are discussing has anything really to do with politics…

you have your beliefs, i have mine…

that has always been the democrats platform..

  • imrightdammit

    @me,

CHURCH! Black people need to stop throwing their vote away on a party that takes them for granted and wants to keep us dependent on government welfare checks. Democrats have done more harm to Black people than guns and crack!

  • ewww

    @ Me

I understand that you believe that republicans are better because they do not embrace federal aid. However, if you look back, it is that government aid that is allowing most americans to keep their homes, cars, and even put food on the table. The way that the economy is now, if not for programs such as unemplyment a family can go from living well to on the streets. So please dont knock government aid, becayse I know that some people overuse it and use it as a way to be lazy and non productive, but others use it because they have no other means and it is thier last lifeline.

  • imrightdammit

    @Nat Turna

Just because there are drugs coming into the country doesn’t mean we have to use them! If our ancestors were as WEAK-MINDED as the Black people today, we would still be pickin’ cotton and ridding in the back of the bus! What about being strong for our people and refusing to take the bait?!!!

Although most of your comment was valid, the last statment is what I disagree with. Don’t fault him because he doesn’t have a DEGREE, which doesn’t completely validate your intelligence. To be truly intelligent all you need is an open mind and a book. He taught himself through books.

  • me

    Ewww..

Oh i whole heartedly agree with aid… Alot of folks needs it.. im pretty sure my mother used it when she left my dad..

But she used it for 3 months, got a job, saved up, got a house, grinded till she was her own woman…

she didn’t sit on her ass, collecting checks and watching maury…

  • DaPro

I respect NAS for having a voice and using it for something other than spitting bars about syrup, weed, and cars

Police do kill blacks and it goes on more reported

We do kill ourselves and we allow others to kill us as well

We shouldn’t be arguing amongst one another about who’s killing who more, we need to figure out how to stop the murders

  • ewww

    @ me

LOL, Thats exactly what im talking about. Your mother didn’t use the government as a way to sit on her behind, she used it like she was suppose to when she had no other choice. Unfortunately, if there was no aid, it would have probably been very hard for her to get back on her feet.

  • me

    ewww..

if there had bee no aid, yes, she would of suffered tremendously…

So dont’ think i don’t support or endorse aid.. i believe everyone should help everyone..

but im not for big government.. and im not for the people being dependent on the government… we are all individuals who together need to create a better america, not rely on someone else..

  • RumRaisin

@ DaPro thank you. I swear this is the dumbest argument I’ve ever heard in my life lol. The POINT is blacks are dying and NO ONE one in these powerful positions is addressing it. The US Presidency is supposed to be the most powerful position in the Western World and they turn a blind eye to our issues.

Obama isn’t superhuman, but he has re-ignited a sense of pride and hope into MILLIONS of Americans who had lost trust in this country.

  • Andre

For you to say nas isn’t smart because he not educated isn’t intelligent. Many people throughout history have done great thing without formal education. The forbes list of global billionaire was filled with men and women void of formal education. You don’t need to goto school to read a book.

The government has nothing to do with gas prices, unless you take into account them not building new refinaries due to environemental issues.. (democrats)..

I agree fam, without knowledge of self and your history a person can’t fully progress

    @ Me

Are you saying the government isn’t responsible for rising gas prices, weak dollar, falling housing market, etc..?

  • me

    DaPro

no the government is not responsible for a weak dollar.. What has made the dollar weak are all the homeloans going into default because of people buying houses on ARM loans.. and the loan companies providing these loans to people who really couldn’t afford them..

America is not in a recession..

A recession is described as decline in GDP in 2 or more consecutive quarters.. we were actually up last quarter..

so between the fear of recession, the housing market, and the dollar in the market compared to othe markets, that is what is causing the rise in inflation… not the government..

that’s not the governement… that’s loan companies and individual americans…

  • me

    IlluminateTruth

Well so much for having an intelligent discussion..

This clown will say this.. If your ancestors didn’t sell you, than i guess you’d still be in africa, wearing lip rings and praying to a jug of water…

I bet if i asked you where you’d rather be, im sure you’d say AmeriCa…

    “Personal Responsibility”

  • DaPro

The FED is part of the government which controls interest rates, inflation, monitors the lending practices of banks

How is the government not responsible for that???

  • Nat Turna

    @IlluminateTruth

oh yeah, i forgot to mention “Freeway Ricky Ross”. his story directly shows you the link between the government and drug trafficing. good point!

    @me

If the government has nothing to do with gas prices then why are politicians always talking about it? And we get most of our oil from Saudi Arabia,so who negotiates with these people if it isnt the government? Have you ever had a business meeting with a Shiek?

  • me

    IlluminateTruth

Oh im quite used to it.. i never said corporate america is not corrupt.. that’s a given..

prices are always spiked high, than dropped lower, but not as low as they were.. its a way of making us pay higher prices, but really thinking we are getting a bargain… i’d say you are quite correct in that statement..

    da clown

  • me

    NAT

The governement is always talking about it because it’s a part of the economy.. a large part…

Tell me why congress has once again, called in all the oil execs so that they may explain their record profits…

If the government was controlling gas, than there would be no reason for the oil execs to come in and justify them selves to the government..

    understand?

and the government does not set prices on barrells of oil, nor do the saudi’s..

it’s a globally traded commodity.. it’s bound only by the market value.. so no, that’s not government either..

  • GhostWriter

Please, NASeous can’t even speak on things he helps perpetuate. Ho sit down!

  • me

    IlluminateTruth

Nope, not showing my ignorance, only replying to what you wrote above..

if you’re going to “assume” that i “probably think AmeriKKKa did blacks a favor” than im going to “assume” that you dont’ want to be here and would rather go somewhere else..

    See what “assuming” does…

So dont’ “assume” anything about me, and i wont’ “assume” that AA are exactly where they want to be, in AmeriCa

There might be hope for this country after all lol…

  • Brightchick

Why would this be a presidential issue when the black community does nothing to stop the genocide. Young black men and women are gunned down everyday and NO ONE SEES A THING! But hey, let’s blame “the man” and the government. That’s a lot easier than fixing the problem. It’s easier than being a part of the solution. It’s easier than having the courage to stand up and point out the guilty parties. I’m not impressed by this nonsense. Just another cop out.

  • tscombo

    @ Brightchick

    Agreed. Nice post.

  • DaPro

The fact is the government and “the man” is socially and morally responsible for the black on black crime and police brutality that goes on in America seeing as we are “Americans”

We are also socially and morally responsible for killing one another or not acting out against the violence

The conditions and mindset that we have today was born from the conditions of 400+ years of oppression. Having said that, we must educate ourselves and go back to root of the problem.

Without changing the roots, you can’t change the fruits

It gets old to go at one another especially online, we would be better served discussing what we can do to change our conditions and re-build an empire

Glok9n preach on. More info for those who want it.

Crack epidemic – the drug was sent into Black communities by the CIA. This is a proven FACT. The deadly drug was sent into Black communities SPECIFICLY to help control Black population numbers.

Tuskegee Experiment – For forty years the US Public Health Service (PHS) conducted an experiment on 399 black men in the late stages of syphilis that was deadly and without the men’s knowledge.

AIDS Experiment – Under a deadly, and until recently unpublicized, research program run by the United States, thousands of HIV-infected women in Africa and the Dominican Republic are being denied a treatment that could potentially prevent the transmission of AIDS to their babies. Instead they are being given placebos. As a result, a thousand will needlessly be born with the HIV virus.

Crack Addict Sterilization Program – A ‘privately’ funded organization named CRACK is set up in the west coast and offers a $200 cash payment to women addicted to crack in exchange for sterilization. Even though white women make up a higher percentage of crack addicts than Black and Latino women, 60% of sterilizations are given to Black and Latino women.

Involuntary hysterectomy – Hysterectomies are performed around the country on women of color ONLY without their knowledge. It happened enough in Mississipi that the slang term “Mississippi appendectomy” arose to describe involuntary hysterectomies and tubal ligations done on black women.

All of this is just the TIP of the iceberg as far as thinly veiled practices of the government, private organizations, hospitals and police departments that have disproportionately impacted AFRICAN AMERICANS and LATINOS. The numbers of men, women, and children lost due to the racist practices over the CENTURIES by far outnumbers the black on black crime that has increased in the past two to three decades.

@REALWOMAN MANIFEST THE DAMN THING SISTA! IM BACK I WAS ON MY WAY TO THE SEAPORT BUT YOUR HERE ILL CHILL WITH YOU FOR THIS NEEDED KNOWLEDGE!!!

  • Ara

    @ NAT TURNA

Yes, if no one is buying the drugs they will eventually go away. It is called supply and demand, just like certain bussinesses go out of business because no one is buying, same concept.

Police brutality, it happens but is has to be addressed on a case to case basis.

Aids rate of black women, that is a personal responsibility, women need to protect themselves while engaging in sexual acts, not sometimes but ALL the time. That means using condoms, latex condoms, not the sheep skin, because they are porous and the aids virus can pass through them.

Better schools and teachers for our children, that’s what PTA mettings are for, getting involved with the city council and other city governments to address this problem.

You stated,” If a young brother goes to jail for selling dope it is no one’s fault but his?” You are right! He made the choice to sell illegal drugs, got caught, so now he has to pay the consequences. It’s call personal responsibility.

Ok, then you ask, ” Where did he get the dope he is selling?” This question is illrevelant. I don’t care if someone placed the drugs in front of him while walking down the street, he should step over it and keep walking. No one said that drugs are’nt being brought into the country by the government and even into our communities.

I’m stating that the young brother made a bad decision to buy drugs which landed him in jail.

There will always be negative things, traps and obstacles thrown in your path by the government or sometimes by people that we think are our friends. WE MUST MAKE BETTER CHOICES or face the consequences. Leave the drugs along, stay in school and stop having babies too young and out of wedlock. That’s a start.

Ara that is the thing. We choose to turn a blind eye when the government is involved and act like the doughboy and his crackhead customers are the ONLY problem. How about we stop rediscussing what most of us already know and start investigating how we got here. Remember people…all of this only started happening within the last 30 years!!! Hello! If no red flags are raised in your head then you might need to get it examined.

    Illuminate

I’m digging that brotha and I think we must have our own system in place for education to teach about our HIS-STORY, finances, wealth building, etc

We (“Blacks) are the one of the few groups that are completely dumb (as a whole) when it comes to knowledge of self and having tradition. We have been stripped of our ways as Kings and Queens; we have no recollection of our proud ancestry.

In order to move forward towards -mental, physical, economic freedom we must study our past struggles and hold the actions of those who prospered from our suffering and our own selves accountable

  • Mrs. Lawrence

I think he is giving Obama too much credit too soon. This type of praise should be earned. I’ll give Obama the benefit to prove himself.

  • realwoman

“There will always be negative things, traps and obstacles thrown in your path by the government or sometimes by people that we think are our friends. WE MUST MAKE BETTER CHOICES or face the consequences. Leave the drugs along, stay in school and stop having babies too young and out of wedlock. That’s a start.”

This is not normal. A government is not supposed to target one segment of it’s population and try to kill them or hurt them AFTER expecting tax money from them to protect them. WTF?

Also we are supposed to have children. We need to help raise those children into productive members of a functioning society and those who don’t want to help raise em should not expect for them to take care of them (social security!!) when they get old.

  • Nawal

Mrs. Lawrence, maybe you should read Obama’s book “The Audacity of Hope”, or follow his policies and votes in the U.S. Senate. He doesn’t have that title for no reason. Also, this man just made history so he does deserve praise, especially from his community. What is wrong with you?

  • glok9n

Listen. He created everything in this Universe for an intelligent “reason”,”purpose”and “function”!Now,whatz your “function” to the World the Universe?Whatz Your Function Blkman??? Are you here to function as a pimp,a ho-macker,drug seller, street dwelling buck wild ass niggr acting like a damn fool for the rest of your life??? Is that your hustle,or funtion to this Universe???Sir is that all you have to offer to life??? is that all that there is to you?Is that all the substance that there is to you? Huh? Is that what you were born for? You better think hard about that there.

  • What the…

    nas = truth

but, when the Blacks stop “self genocide,” then we can collectivity scold the system without justification. its easy to say f*ck the police but when your neighborhood is killing each other, the blame seem or the hero to everyone else and not the neighborhood.

We need to be honest about what we already know needs fixing?

  • Ara

    @ realwoman

The US government has been flawed since, since forever. I am not denying that, but as you know to make changes at that level, it is a long complicated process, nor am I saying that we should not try to address issues that need to be change in our government. I was simply addressing questions that realwoman mentioned. Somethings seem like it would be just common sense, but apparantly not. How we got here, that could be any number of reasons. I am more concerned with how we get out.

In the process of time the blk man began to believe the superiority of the white manz system. He bowed to the white man served him in every aspect of his life and worshipped him as god. Moreover the masters painted a white Jesus and gave it to the black man to serve as god.As a result it was easy for the blkman to obey and believe the white man without question. In truth whether some of us want to believe the white man became the blkmanz god. They employed white standards and values to decide what was wrong .In additon, many put very little credence in what other blk man said. Most blacks serve the education system in America It is an oppressive system that thrives and supports itself on the exploitation of the blks and the poor. For this reason, the existing system cannot render full justice or share the wealth of this country. When we here the verdicts handed down by many of the courts in this country like NAS was saying we know the kind of justice the blkman get.So Know the truth and the truth and the truth shall set you free.STOP SERVING THE GOD OF WHITE SUPREMACY AND CAST AWAY THE CURSE!

  • spinner22

Nas my fav rapper of all time the man has his beleifs I may not agree with them all but do take time to listen

I think a good start would be to scrap all the trainubg methods and some of the old tactics the law agencies have in place and start the whole dang training books etc etc from scratch with more then a white mans view

  • blackgirl

Agreed Dr. Funk. Nas is not saying nothing. If you think about what he is saying, you can see it isn’t about nothing. “They throw young guys- who’s starving – in jail just trying to survive on the street”….what! If you break in my house whether you young, black, starving, full, sad, blue, happy, sad, broke, and whatever else excuse you’ll catch it. Point being, try not breaking the law. Lets just try it. Yeah yeah, that might not work but try it first. Nas doesn’t have any sense, I hope its not too many black folks following in behind this babble. Yes, there are sooo many black males in jail and for some reason they won’t listen to “dont get in there in the first place”. Nas address the larger portion of the problem..US and shut the hell up.

  • spinner22

UMm you know how many times a black person get pulled over just because they are black and not doing nothing wrong and get slapped around or worse by police cause they didnt jump as high as the policeman asked TOO GOD DARN MANY!!!

  • blackgirl

and spinner…is that the OVERWHELMING way that black males end up in prison and killed? Think about what I just said……NO IT ISN’T..They end up killed and in prison because of their OWN actions. Not to excuse those who are doing nothing wrong but the larger portion are in there because of their own doing. “Too god darn many” isn’t defined…its general and vague.

  • we must learn

It’s not a coincidence that obama a man who has of yet to address the issues of not only blacks but the poor has not done so.He is a savior not only to delusional negroes but to the mass of caucasians alike. Why? because they will use his color as a means to justify THEIR end.Which is look we got us a negroe in the white house we makin change yeah right. The truth is obama is in cahoots with the very people who want to murder us all they only respect money they dont care about you wake up they have concentration camps set up for us all you think osambo i mean obama is going to stand up for you your mistaken!

  • glok9n

@WE MUST LEARN! YOU SO CORRECT,ANY NEGROES THAT WHITES HAVE LOVED HAS ALWAYZ BEEN THE KIND NEGROES REGRET IN THE END!!! WHO IZ THIS MAN THAT THE WORLD LOVES THE ANTI-CHRIST? JUST ASKING?

  • Pleae

Once again it’s everybody else’s fault we do nothing wrong, we don’t contribute to the negativity in our community that creates a negative environment which causes police to re-act the way they do. We obey commands from the police when given and don’t run and try to evade the law because we do nothing wrong. This race is going down fast especially since you have those on the forefront who contribute to giving out excuses that deflect away from self-reflection.

Obama’s humanity and presence has and will have a tremendous positive effect on our youth/people to follow his lead in proactive positive change.

Never before have we had a Democratic nominee or president who was once a grassroots community organizer. Obama is consious and concerned from the ground up.

Obama is already and will throughout his presidency change and inspire our families, communities, nation. The global conversation he has already evoked is a sign of greater change on the horizon.

Mr. & Mrs. Obama, and their children are the way too long overdue mirror our youth/people need to reflect back our positive possibilities.

Obama’s mantra “Yes We Can” represents so much for us on so so so many levels.

Yes we did, can, and will!
