Clint does look like a corpse. And for him to get all upset over Spike’s commnets only goes to show he did half ass job in Flags of Our Father by leaving out the black soldier’s perspective thinking no one would care or overlook it. Wrong clint!!! We do care.

Good point lovely one and illuminate the truth I completely agree with you…wrong ya’ll i don’t understand what you mean… are u saying illuminate doesn’t know what they’re talking about since they haven’t lived the live that you have? How would you know this? Also I think most blacks and people of color would be able to say they live this life. The interlocked systems of oppression affects us all

I just wanted to step in and say that BOTH spike and Clint are right…while there were no blacks raising the flag at Iwo but they were there. Clint’s movie is based on a famous picture taken during the historic moment. However what ppl don’t know is that there are 2 pics. The originalincluded blacks but due to racism at the time. The photographer decided to recreated the moment later and only included whites raising the flag b/c this was what was believed to be the essence of America at the time. SO actually on second thought Spike was a little closer to the truth.

I enjoyed destiny child was aware of the back stabbing but still enjoyed Beys 1st album. Then I was too aware of how tacky and average and over rated she was, but I came across some footage of her the other day while looking up alicia and she is one full on sleezy nasty trashy gurl. The way she was cruching it up by this pole the pole was there for show her cruch was the main attractions -smh! I knew she was selling sex but this was cringable

how is “shut his face” concidered a racist moment by Eastwood, some people always gotta make something outta nothing just to get some attention. i would of said alot worse to Spike, he just trying to make it into a bad black moment so it will get in the headlines.

Sad part is, John Ford would have done a better black soldier movie than Spike Lee will. He’s far afield of Brooklyn, and it’ll be hard to know what point his movie will make except to say there were black people in World War II. He’s fighting a losing battle to get white people to include us in what they think of, myopically or not, as their history. Whatever room they do make, it’s only a wing crudely tacked on to the big house of American life. If Spike were an artist, he could make his points without using any black people at all. But he’s a propagandist, so he uses a camera like a megaphone. “A guy like that” is a crude opportunist who talks up a project by making scattershot provocations about race. He’s yet to make an original statement about race, so what is his warrant to criticize the veracity or perspective of another filmmaker’s version of big events?
