Chris Rock should sue they hell out of whoever was behind this! Reality shows are really getting out of control. You can’t mess with a person’s life like that while you’re trying to play a trick on them. There’s a difference between setting someone up an a blind date that will be purposely bad(Hell Date)and setting someone up saying they raped an underage person. Allegations like these could have put Chris under the jail with no questions asked.

Record sales are down for everyone… period. No one buys music anymore, they steal it. That’s why celebrities are doing so much more than just act or sing. They have fashion lines, perfume, etc. They are doing what they can to stay afloat. You never saw Anita Baker do other ish. Some may write a book after they’ve been out awhile about their life or something like that but not like celebs today.

If people won’t pay for music, clothes, rims, and other ish ppl steal I highly dount it anyone would pay just to come on bossip and bull***** about celebs. “Get a clue!”
There is no need to blame the record label, the CD was wack. So was 20 YO. I think Janet’s problem is she’s still trying to act like a 20 year old. Maybe trying a more mature sound could work for her. Granted she doesn’t have the greatest voice but she could play around with her style a little more instead of competing with these young girls. She has nothing to prove cause she’s made her mark. She did a really good job in ‘Why did I get married’. Maybe she can focus on acting more and just bow out from the music scene.

I agree with all except Snoop, Mariah, and Mary J. They are still hitting #1 spots. Didn’t Mariah just break the Beatles record for number 1s with this last single? I think I read that either them or Elvis or somebody like that.
Co-sign@Marquis de Sade’s suggestion that Janet just do the Vegas circuit. She would do year-long revue performing hits past and present (mostly past), and make all the money she didn’t make off her lastest albums, plus some extra to help her broke brother Michael. Shoo, it worked for Celine Dion, Cher, and Toni Braxton. I’d see her doing “Pleasure Principle” at the Palms!
Is anyone surprised. Her last 3 CD’s sucked! She tried to package & resell the same Euro-trash, dance music with lyrics that you could not understand 3 times over. I don’t care how good Janet look (and she look damn good), that does not sell CD’s. She sold millions of magazines and very few CD’s.
Non-singers, dance artist or whatever u want to call them only sell good when they are young cause the audience has not fully matured. The people who grew up on Janet are now in their late 30’s & 40’s. They are now listening to Jill Scott, John Legend, Kem, Brian Mcknight, Erica Badu, etc……
Well I personally don’t think Janet needs to “bow down” out of the music business. But she does need to do more music for the grown and sexy. I still got mad love for Janet and can’t wait for the tour. She never disappoints when it comes to touring.
It has nothing to do with age. Janet cannot sing and her voice is getting thinner & thinner on every CD. Mariah can sing and that is why she is still relevant. That is the reason Mariah refused to do the much hyped duet with Janet that JD has been pushing for.
I agree with Somer. Janet’s time is up. The kids want to see artists that are close to their age and the adults don’t want to hear/see Janet doing the same ole ish she been doing since ‘85.

The reason I said that Mary J. Blige and Mariah need to hang it up is b/c they are old and their time has p*****ed. Mary can’t sing and has never been able to. Women just loved the lyrics to her songs and could feel her pain. That’s what helped blow her career up. But with younger females who can actually sing(Beyonce,Ashanti,Fantaisa,Alicia Keys,Keisha Cole:sometimes)I just think it’s time to let them take over. All of Mariah’s songs are starting to sound the same. If people think janet needs to grow up then they must think the same about Mariah. She is damn near 40 still talking about butterflies. Mariah is basically still selling albums based off her name and a catchy JD hook. As far as Usher goes…I’m just tired of him. He always made good music, but after Confessions blew up it’s like he just got too big headed. Usher thinks guys like Chris Brown, Omarion, Mario, and Lloyd are copying him. When all of them(Usher included)are really copying Michael Jackson. I know Mike wasn’t the first to sing and dance but these guys grew up watching him, so that’s who they are copying.
I, too believe Janet should hang it up. Unfortunately she is getting too old for this business…people are not interested in still watching her…why is she not fulfilling other parts of her life such as having children getting married and anything else..I mean damn girl…we’ve definitely seen all you got…highly doubt you’ve got anything else amazing for us…

How is it hating to say she needs to find a more age appropriate outlet for her work? If she isn’t going to reinvent herself and come new, then she does need to just do revues of her old music. Or if she wants to do another album, a greatest hits would work. But she can not, I repeat Can Not, keep recycling the same tired teeny–bopper ish. Cause the teeny boppers aren’t buying.
