It’s really interesting how some of you dimiss tiger woods as wishy-washy. I really wonder why this is so.

Is it because he chooses to identify with ALL of his ethnicities? Is it because he chooses NOT to pander to African Americans as so many multi-racial people feel they need to in order to be accepted by the black community (Barack Obama comes to mind)? Or is it simply because he chooses to work hard and rely on his abilities as opposed to harping on the past and it makes you uncomfortable?

I am multiracial. I do not ever claim it and when asked what is my race I say Black. When asked who is white in your family, I say “M*****a”. He is a brown skin black man and could try to “identify” with everything to a martian. but when its all said and done….you are black. Tiger never claimed to the contrary. Tiger strikes me as a man who feels only entitled to what he works for. Just because he is not sending shout-outs on BET does not mean that he does not identify with his black side. I actually think that Tiger Woods is one of the most humble, intelligent, and hard working people today.

I hate that the black community puts so much pressure on biracial and multiracial persons to cater them. We demand them to identify with even more than the actual percentage of our blood they have running in their veins.

You are right though, as a biracial woman you have the RIGHT to identify as you please, but it does not make Tiger Woods less RIGHT to choose to identify with ALL of his ethnicities.

When Tiger Woods won at the Masters, he was also given credit for being Asian. Asians are very proud of Tiger Woods and recognize and accept him for all of his genetic makeup–they don’t solely claim him as theirs. In fact, after he won his first Masters, a US based Thai newspaper was quoted as saying ” a proud day for Blacks and Asians”

What I like most about Tiger Woods is that he panders to no one. He defines himself by his amazing work ethic and allows all of ethnicities benefit from what he has contributed.

He has accomplished much as a black man, and asian man, a native american man, and a white man. And you should be proud of the all of that and even more proud for the part that represents you.

Did you notice though that the two notable times he was hit with racist comments they were aimed at his Blackness. (The fried chicken comment, the noose comment) *****ody has been on record as calling him a *****,gook,etc. Bottom line, if Tiger Woods was just an everyday “Joe” looking for a job, guess what color he would probably be to his interviewer. If you could read you would see that they count magazine covers, earnings, web hits, etc as well. just boycott ALL FOX NEWS AND ALL FOX RELATED PROGRAMING stations including Fox Network and affiliates. Also boycott all sponsers(commercials) . Send emails to all sponsers such as *****e and pepsi that you will not buy products if they Fox news does not stop bias attacks against African Americans.

People we have to stand up and act, it may seem like a lot to do…but this is nothing compared to what they had to do in civil rights days, to help have some of the liberties we enjoy today.

….Remember they boycott a state transit company and walked everywhere they needed to go for almost 2 years(most could not afford cars then)!!!

What’s wrong wit people being proud of who they are???? When did that ever become a problem? I’m 100% black and I love who I am….but I can tell you one thing, if I was mixed with any other race I would be just as damn proud AND would acknowledge my other cultures. Yes most people will identify you with black…which is not a problem…there’s only about 6 or so major racial groups that America identify’s with anyway! Have you ever filled out an application for anything? So yes he will be considered black. But damnit if he’s black, white, mexican, and jamacian, and 3/4 dog…HE SHOULD BE ABLE TO BE PROUD OF WHO THE HELL HE IS!!!!! Damn! If we tapped in to all of the “issues” that we all have within ourselves we would have a daily story on bossip our damn selves for our own shyt. He’s an excellent golfer who has made ground breaking history for ALL minorities…he just happens to have more cultures in his blood than maybe you and I.

Thank you! it seems black people dont haveno time for mixed race folk, whilst white people on the whole on the whole embrace multi-ethnic people. It seems to be a USA thing coz here in the UK it aint really a problem.

Its like being any amount of white whether it be full/half/quarter etc evokes so much hatred! And like earlier comments have stated Barrack Obama, why is he acceptable and Tiger aint? Obama has also confirmed he considers himself both black and white in a 30min speech on race, just like Tiger has, yet he has not suffered the same sort f backlash!?!
