Whoever wrote this story needs to learn to read. He said the album is FIRE, not FIERCE.

Bottom line is he doesn’t want her anymore. Not saying cheating is right (don’t know if it counts as cheating if they were split up, but they seem to disagree about when that happened), and putting him on blast online won’t change that. Take the hurt (and the settlement) and move on.

Telling Mashonda to ‘get over it’ is easier said than done (as is most things in life)…Emotions are a bytch @ times… especially deep routed ones. There is no SET TIME SPAN for how long it should take to ‘get over’ someone/fall out of love with them.

I was feeling a bit more sympathetic for Mashonda…until I got to the end of the post. So he left someone else for Mashonda? Maybe he wasn’t married to the other woman, but wasn’t Mashonda the other woman as well? It sounds like karma. The only one I feel unchanging sympathy for is the child who took no part in this.

For the person who talked about separation, it is not always to see if you can work things out. Some states require that you be physically separated from your spouse (meaning separate households and no sex) for at least a year before you can receive a divorce. I’ve read that New York — despite it’s reputation as lackadaisical when it comes to morals, family relationships, promiscuity, etc. — is very conservative when it comes to divorce, and often denies requests.

I agree — regardless of when they broke up, this situation is still pretty messy, and it would probably be a better idea for him to keep it as low-key as possible at least until the divorce is finalized.

Again, I don’t know if A.Keys can be called “the other woman” or a “homewrecker” if Swizz were already split up (obviously not divorced yet), but I think Alicia knew better than to get involved in a messy situation, since she was pretty scarce when the story broke…didn’t see her for months!

As a woman I understand why Mashonda is hurt, but she needs to stop responding to Swizz Beat’s antics: cuz it shows that she still has feelings for him. But he’s just as wrong for PUBLICLY shouting out his Boo. He should have more respect for Mashonda as his (soon to be) ex and mother of his child. Since you asked, I’ll respond:

The mere fact that A.Keys is a celebrity makes no matter…The fact that a married man left his wife, filed for a “Legal Separation” and subsequently filed for divorce does!!! Mashonda has been waging an ongoing onslaught os words with her estranged husband, and every time she opens her mouth, she crams her foot farther into her mouth!!! If a man left you, he obviously doesn’t want you…Face facts!! (I’m a guy by the way….That pic in my gravie is my girl…) All of this goading and namecalling directed at A.Keys is getting her nowhere, because at the end of the day, she will not be getting him back!! To make matters worse, it’s actually driving them closer, because now Swizzy and Ak-47 have a common enemy to unite against….Mashonda!!!! That clear it all up??? So to put it bluntly, all she needs to do is shut her trap, collect her child support, and find someone else…..Any thing other than that is counterproductive…Not to mention, his kid is going to sense her hostility with his father!! Care to make a bet as to who’s going to look bad in that instance???

This is an unfortunate situation for all parties invovlved, including A Keys. Alicia and Swiss should have used more discretion (public appearances, photos, **twitter battles, etc.) until the divorce is officially over. I’m sure that Swiss and Mashonda were at the end of their relationship when Alicia and Swiss became involved. From what I understand, Alicia and Swiss have been just taking time to get to know each other and have not crossed the line (sexual and/or romantically) yet. I know that is hard to believe, but hey- it is possible.

My advice to Mashonda: As hurtful as it may be, close this chapter of your life. Quit responding to tweets, talking to the media,and chatting with your friends about it. If your heart is truly with God, the next man will have to seek Him first to get to yours. Keep your head up.

To Swiss: Be true to yourself and know that you don’t have to respond to everything people say. Your actions speak louder than your words. Take the necessary steps to resolve this peacefully. Meet with Mashonda (privately), apologize to her (because yes, you are separated, but you are STILL married)and let her know your plans for continuing to be a great father. The two of you also need to have closure on the relationship by being on honest about what got yall to this point anyway.

To Alicia: Just beware. Usually relationships that start like this, end the same way. It may be different this time around, but still beware. You don’t need this type of publicity.

I love A.Keys music and usually I couldn’t care less about what celebs do in their personal life but I just can’t listen to her love songs anymore. Especially not the ones written about some other woman’s husband. Just can’t.

Most states require a legal separation time frame of up to a year and if there are children involved or just a bitter, scorned ex trying to challenge everything in an attempt to drag out the inevitable, it could take longer.

Divorce can take years to finalize, especially the more assets and money is involved. I’m sorry, but Swizz is lying. The rumors about him and Alicia started when Mashonda was still pregnant, and he was still very married. In fact, he denied the rumors and said that he was still with his Mashonda when the rumors first started. Alicia pretend like she was still with Krucial. Swizz and Mashonda were not legally separated until after the he made public appearances with AKeys. Separation is a legal action that requires the filing of court documents. Swizz’s going on tour and saying that he was feeling Alicia more does not constitute “separation.”

He was dead wrong, and Alicia is wrong for writing all those songs about black love and speaking about black marriages, to go on to break one up. Mashonda’s decision to state what really happened does not necessarily mean that she needs to move on. She may be tired of his failure to own up to his actions. I used to love Alicia because I thought that she was a woman of substance and class; I was wrong.

it’s been two years. Mashonda needs to stop. I was separated for THREE Years b4 I was granted a divorce. One year of that wasmandatory waiting by VA law, and the other two was cuz my ex husband didnt want to divorce me bcuz he didnt want to start paying mandatory child support. Did i have a relationship in between before the divorce papers were final? YES! It was over between us… I wasnt going to be alone just b/c my ex was cheap and VA required a 12 month separation.
