Report: Permed-Up Al’s Stacks Are Suspect

Posted by Bossip Staff

Foxy Brown & Al Sharpton

A recent report puts permed up Al Sharpton on blast by accusing him of accepting bribes from companies who are being accused of racism. The way the hustle works is a company faces allegations of racism and passes stacks to Sharpton as a “consultant”:

Anheuser-Busch gave him six figures, Colgate-Palmolive shelled out $50,000 and Macy’s and Pfizer have contributed thousands to the Rev. Al Sharpton’s charity.

Almost 50 companies – including PepsiCo, General Motors, Wal-Mart, FedEx, Continental Airlines, Johnson & Johnson and Chase – and some labor unions sponsored Sharpton’s National Action Network annual conference in April. Terrified of negative publicity, fearful of a consumer boycott or eager to make nice with the civil-rights activist, CEOs write checks, critics say, to NAN and Sharpton – who brandishes the buying power of African-American consumers. In some cases, they hire him as a consultant.

The cash flows even as the US Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn has been conducting a grand-jury investigation of NAN’s finances.

Messy’s Jesse’s stacks and all those old civil rights negroes probably have suspect stacks too. Discuss

    First???

  3. I'm Just Me

WOW!!! I guess we cannot be surprised. These people are always in the middle of mess. But I am still confused. By sponsoring the NAN annual confernece this proves that they are not racist how? Because they give money to a black organization??? I mean why not the NAACP or many of the countless legitimate black organizations that are for our improvement….why Al who has long been said to have messy funding? SMDH at the companies pretending to not be racist.

  4. I'm Just Me

SMDH at this bullish!!! SMDH at these companies pretending to not be racist by stuffing Al’s pockets and thinking this is cleaning up their image….and SMDH at it still going down while th FEDs are investigating you.

  5. I'm Just Me

    BOSSIP…WHY ARE YOU BLOCKING ME?

    TEST!

  6. I'm Just Me

    BOSSIP IS BLOCKING ME

  7. I'm Just Me

    WHY CAN’T WE POST HERE?

    2nd???

  9. mr mr

this is nothing new…civil rights negroes have been profiting from black suppression for years now…

  10. The_Truth

“We trust no black leaders. . .” -Nasir Jones/ N.I.G.G.E.R. (slave and the master)

The Saudi’s have bribed US oil companies into record oil prices, yet “we” rather throw our hate at yet another one of our on. . .as long as the WHITE media can create distrust amongst us, THEY WILL CONTROL ALL INSTITUIONS, period. So the next time you decide to get all emotional and yell at your computer screens for a topic as small as this. . .think how many M*****IVE crimes you’ve overlooked.

  11. Whateva

This doesn’t surprise me…. The majority of these big companies foster racism in one way or another. Do you think these companies became fortune 500 by sitting on the sidelines all this time?, know they fully parti*****ted or benefited from the oppression of black people.

So if Sharpton got a little cake from them, I could see that as a posibility. We all supprt the economics of these companies one way or another!!!

  12. NOTAHATER

innocent until proven guilty. in addition, it was Jessie Jackson and the “civil rights” bunch that were out there marching and boycotting and putting themselves and their families at risk back in the 50’s when if was very dangerous and not the cool thing to do. a little grattitude would go along way…

  13. kevwebb

I’m not surprised. Al’s activities have been suspect for a long time. He once brokered a cocaine deal that the DEA had taped, and he played the denial role on 60 minutes. He took like 500K to make it seem like 50 & Game were ok. He’s always been corrupt. It’s not like he’s doing things out of the kindness of his heart, or the betterment of black folks…he’s a damn con artist!

  14. glok9n

I TOLD YOU NIGGRS MONTHS AGO THAT THIS FAT ***** DONT HAVE YOUR INTEREST AT HEART……HE IS A UNDER THE TABLE NIGGR!!! IF YOUR CASE OR YOUR DRAMA HAS NO DOLLAR SIGNS THIS SUCKA AINT GOT YOUR BACK!

  15. glok9n

    YOOO HE’Z A FAT SNITCH!!!!

  16. “Civil rights negroes?”

Bossip never fails at making an ***** of itself.

Have U never heard of Medger Evers, D’Army Bailey, and Rev. Samuel Kyles (SCLC AND NAACP member)??

Every Civil rights activist didn’t have ulterior motives.

    simpletons

  17. Now the Sharpie guy is another animal in itself. He’s a tool..

    lol

  18. *****

Mahogany, I agree with you. Many of the great Civil Rights leaders of the past weren’t anything like this pimp, conked haired mess Al Sharpton. Those men were true to the cause and concerned only with elevating Black people, as well as America, to a higher cause. But Jesse Jackson and Big Pimpin Al made a mockery of it all. Even Jackson wasn’t as blatantly corrupt as Al. Al was James Brown’s road manager for years, before that he was a boot-legged preacher who was ordained to preach before he was even ten years old. Can you believe that *****? This *****, even as a boy thought he was qualified to know God, when even Jesus didn’t start preaching until he was 30 years old. but no, this doesn’t surprise me. Al has a pimpin mentality and he will use anybody for his own personal gain. This fat ***** has never worked a legitimate job in his whole life. He didn’t even graduate from theological school. No wonder this fool and all the self-promoting, big mouth Niccas like him, hate Obama. Because their is a new Black politican on the horizon. Smart, well-spoken, intelligent, and for the people, which is something Big, Pimpin Al Sharpton never was.

  19. Davis

it’s about time yall saw through this man’s mess. The first time my ninety year old grandmother saw Al on television sprouting off she shook her head and laugh. Said that man was as phoney as a $2.00 dollar bill and that she didn’t trust him. I laughed, but granny was right.

  20. kerby

That N.A.N organization he runs is nothing but a front and his own personal bank account and I been feeling that for a long time. This should have been exposed years ago. Where has all that money gone? I hope the government throws his fat ***** in jail cause you know he ain’t paid no taxes.

  21. MAVIS

THANK YOU BOSSIP! PLEASE KEEP REVEALING THE TRUTH ABOUT THESE HUSTLERS BECAUSE THE WORLD NEEDS TO RECOGNIZE SHARPTON FOR WHAT HE TRULY IS. LIKE WAS MENTIONED BEFORE HE IS NOTHING BUT A PIMP!!!

  22. Black Beauty

Say it isn’t so Al, say it isn’t so!!! I hope that these allegations are not true, but I would not be surprised.

  23. REAL2REELVISIONS

Al has always been shady. Pick it up!

  24. Doris

We need to get rid of all these fools from the past becuz they don’t care about nothing except lining their own pockets. All the great ones have died, now it’s time for the hustlers to die out too becuz this is a new day. We are more sophisticated now and we realize that the road to sucess for the future is education and pushing our children and ourselves into excellence. Not by all this bull***** marching and blackmailing corporations. We don’t need some lying, jacked-up self-made emperors like Jackson and Sharpton speaking for us. Be your own leaders of your families and communities and get involved in both political parties to change things from the inside out. I always knew this man wasn’t about nothing and I bet the Feds have got enough of him to put him away for years. Straight up con man never changes.

  25. Shannon O.

WELL..WELL AND WELL…HERE I COME FROM WAAAY DOWN SOUTH AGAIN…YEAH IT’S YOUR MISSISSIPPI GIRL SHEADING SOME LIGHT ON THIS…NOW WE HAVE HAD SO MANY OF OUR BLACK MEN AND WOMEN SUFFERED DURING SLAVERY AND THE CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT TO HAVE THIS MAN OR MEN TAKE US BACK 70-80 YEARS! TOO MANY PEOPLE HAVE SHED BLOOD FOR US TO BE ABLE TO FIGHT FOR OURSELVES. TOO MANY MARCHES WERE MARCHED FOR THIS MAN OR ANY OTHER MAN OR WOMAN TO THINK IT IS OKAY TO ACCEPT $$ M.O.N.E.Y AS A FAIR TRADE FOR JUSTICE! YOU ARE WHAT YOU ARE! YOU ARE NO BETTER THAN THE SLAVE TRADERS OR M*****AH’S ON THE PLANTATION. YOU HAVE SOLD YOUR PEOPLE OUT FOR MONEY MR. SHARPTON..MR. JACKSON! ONCE YOU LOSE THE TRUST OF THE NEGRO RACE..IT IS EXTREMLY HARD TO EARN IT BACK! REMEMBER PETER DENIED JESUS CHRIST 3X’S! JUDAS SOLD HIM OUT AS WELL!! WHICH ONE ARE YOU…??? HOW DO YOU SLEEP AT NIGHT..PLANNING YOUR NEXT $$ DREAMING HOW YOU CAN STEAL OUR TRUST MANY TIMES OVER…BRINGING FROM THE PORCH WAAY DOWN SOUTH…YA GIRL..MISSISSIPPI!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  26. This is old news

Don’t be stupid by letting these peeps put that in your head that Al is taking money. It’s not your money he’s taking. Don’t knock his hustle. if they got it to give let him take it. Because their gonna talk about us and be racist either way. Yall wake up. He gotta eat and he’s also feeding the mouths of his employees.

  27. James

Al & his employees needs to STFU and get a job. They ain’t helping *****ody but themselves but jiving hustling stealing blackmailing conning you name it. That ***** ain;t what the Civil Rights movement was about. This man is an embarr*****ment and always was with his conked hair and nasty cornbread packed in his mouth, kinda voice. I hate hustlers and pimps. What he do with all those millions he been collecting thru the years. This mockery has got to stop.

  28. Shannon O.

    @ THIS IS OLD NEWS…

IGNORANCE WILL TAKE YOU TO THE GRAVE. WHY DO WE BELIEVE THIS IS OKAY. ARE YOU ON HIS PAY ROLL? ARE YOU SLEEPING WITH HIM..WHAT IF THOSE COMPANIES DISCRIMATED AGAINST YOU? PUT THE SHOE ON THE OTHER FOOT! BETTER YET..WHAT IF IT WAS A LOVE ONE, SISTER, BROTHER, MOTHER, DAUGHTER OR SON? YOU WOULD HAVE PUT HIM ON FULL BLAST WOULDN’T YOU. I’VE ALWAYS HEARD..”THINK TWICE AND YOU WILL ONLY HAVE TO SPEAK ONCE”…COME OUT OF THE HOOD AND OFF THE STREET CORNER AND THINK ABOUT THE REAL HUSTLE MY BROTHER!…

  29. ME

AL SHARPTON IS THE MOST RACIST PERSON IN THIS WORLD

I HAVE ALWAY WONDER WHERE HIS SALARY COMES FROM ….HE IS ALWAYS IN PEOPLE BUSINESS , SO LET SEE WHATS IN HIS CLOSET…

  30. Shannon O.

THINK ABOUT MY FRIEND…SOME HOW ONE OF THESE COMPANIES PLAY A ROLE IN YOUR EVERYDAY LIFE!

  31. justareader

This type of shyt is so dayum sad.. if you think about it, every race was once slaved .. look at Indians, or Mexican’s. for all you black folks who say.. I GOT THAT GOOD HAIR CAUSE I GOT INDIAN IN MY BLOOD.. okay, you got Indian in your blood because that Indian was RAPPED into your blood line. real talk. its a f**ked up world that WE all live in. you can be white, but against racism and slavery.. but, you get treated like you was the Master on the plaintation. it’s 2008, our gas prices have its record ALL TIME HIGH. and we are still talking about what happed before ALL OF OUR TIME. i’m sorry, but let it GO. it happened. all of our ancestors were rapped, slaved, beaten.. look at how WOMAN were treated. we got the right to vote AFTER BLACK MEN. dayume people, you can NEVER MOVE ON FROM THE PAST IF YOU ARE STILL LIVING IT. do i think this country is warped.. you dayum right.. you can’t even live a descent life and you working 40 plus hours a week, AND going to school.. so dayum, there is a BIGGER fight to FIGHT. SMDH.

  32. Link9

    SMH. At that fool Al.

    @Shannon O.

How did u get that picture beside you name?

  33. Just_Wanna_Know

I don’t understand why he gets to profit from these companies. So he gets a check and everything is all clear? It’s no right. I have no respect for Al or Jesse for that matter.

  34. unforgivable

ITS SO FUNNY HOW YOU READERS OF THIS ARTICLE LET OTHER PEOPLE SWAY YOU GOOD COMMON SENSE. NO WHERE DOES IT MENTION THE RACISM OF THESE COMPANIES BUT SOMEBODY SAY THEY’RE RACIST AND THAT THEY CONTRIBUTED TO NAN AND ALL OF A SUDDEN SHARPTON IS A SELL OUT. PLEASE PEOPLE DONT GET CAUGHT UP IN THEIR TACTICS. WHO EVER PUT THIS STORY OUT THERE ARE THE REAL RACIST AND THEY MIGHT BE A TARGET OF SHARPTON AND HIS ORGANIZATION. (NOT CHARITY AS MENTIONED IN ARTICLE) WHEN THE US GOVT WERE TESTING BOMBS IN VIEQUES,PR AND HE WENT AND PROTEST AT THAT SITE AND WENT TO PRISON FOR 90DAYS, *****ODY PAID HIM TO DO THAT. WHEN THE COPS ARE KILLING INNOCENT BLACK MEN AND HE FIGHTS FOR JUSTICE OF THAT VICTIM, *****ODY PAYS HIM. WHEN THESE RAPPERS CALL BLACK WOMEN *****ES AND HOES AND THEY SPEAK OUT ABOUT IT, YOU READERS AND WRITERS OF THESE TYPES OF BLOGS GET MAD AT HIM FOR SAYING THEY’RE NOT SUPPORTING PEOPLE THAT ARE DISRESPECTFUL TO HIS PEOPLE. IF HES A PIMP THEN THIS WEBSITE IS A PIMP. THEY JUST PIMP YALL INTO WORRING ABOUT SHARPTONS MONEY AND NOT YOUR OWN, THAT THIS ROBBING ***** GOV’T HAS US SPENDING MORE AND MORE OF BY THE DAY. ALL THE MONEY WE PAY IN TAXES YET SOME HOW TOOTHPASTE, CARS,AND DISHWASHING LIQUID, SODA IS LABELED “OUR MONEY” (THAT WAS TAXED ALSO WHEN WE MADE A PURCHASE OF SUCH ITEMS, WHICH IS THE REAL MONEY THAT PLAY A ROLE IN EVERYDAY LIFE, TO FUND A BOGUS WAR AND MURDEROUS POLICE, NOT A SUGAR RUSH, CLEAN DISHES, AND TEETH) DONT BE FOOLED, THERE ARE FORCES OUT THERE WHO WANT TO SILENCE THIS MAN BECAUSE HE EXPOSES THE INJUSTICES DISCRIMINATION OF PEOPLE AND THEY JUST WANT TO GO ABOUT THERE LIVES AND LET THESE THINGS BE SWEPT UNDER A RUG. AND HAVE BLACK PEOPLE , OPPRESSED, HOMELESS, MURDERED AND DISRESPECTED WITHOUT WITHOUT DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT. WAKE UP FROM THIS WEBSITES’ DIVERSIONARY TACTICS.AND PAY ATTENTION. OTHER ORGANIZATIONS ARE FUNDED BY THE GOVT SO THEY CANT SPEAK OUT, WHOS THE REAL SELL OUT? DONT GET IT TWISTED, I GUESS AS LONG AS IT DOESNT HIT YOUR HOME, OR YOUR CHILD YOU CANT SIT IN FRONT YOUR COMPUTER AND TALK *****.

  35. Marshabio

Don’t know anything about the “under the table, behind closed door dealings” But it take’s a brave man to speak up like he does. All of his actions can’t be about greed. Bet if you had the need you’d PRAY that Al showed up! *****ody else gives a damn…

  36. Rocky

Dear Bossip…be very careful when you sneeringly refer to “old civil rights negroes..” many of those so-called negroes are responsible for your ignorant ***** having civil rights despite the racism that dominates our society. You tar them with a wide and unfair brushstroke. Rev. Al does not represent the majority of black people in America but he does get out there and until someone more worthy steps up and agitates as much as he has, then this is best we got. I’m hoping more politicians like Obama will wrest the so-called mantle of leadership from the questionable characters like Rev. Al, but again, until that happens I’m not one to ask him to shut up.

  37. Link9

    Al need to quit it.

  38. RB

Are we really surprised? We’ve foolishly allowed him and other “activists” to represent us without regard to their indiscretions. Have you seen the undercover tape where he was taped negotiating a drug deal with an undercover agent? Sadly, the activists of old are dead and opportunists have stepped in and appointed themselves our spokespersons. Let justice take it’s course, if it’s true, it’s sad but not a far stretch for me to believe. We gotta stop leaving our activism to one or two folks and speak for ourselves.

  39. Laura

Nothing illegal about what he is doing. No one is making these companies hire him as a consultant as long as the companies do not go to the authorities and say they felt extortion was involved and Al pays his taxes he should be okay.

The important thing is do the companies stop discriminating

  40. Graphixmeister

I’ve been hearing rumblings about this shakedown scam for years. Sharpton and Jackson stay locked on this type of sheister game. I heard Jackson puts his son in corporate positions by this method. Them shuffling negroes are not looking out for their people. Their lining their pockets and making an artform out of nepotissism.

  41. Al Sharpton attempted to shake down Ice Cube for cash also. Remember when Ice Cube made that movie “Barber Shop”? Al Sharpton threatend to boycott the movie because of the Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King refrences. Ice Cube claimed that Al Sharpton was just trying to extort him for cash.

  42. Joey

It is a pure shame if this story is true. We as Some Black folks already have a rep that they can be bought. I believe that is why alot of those who stayed with Hillary to the end did so because of payout. The clinton’s probably funded their campaigns. These people got to go, they will sell us all out for the right price.

  43. From Da Lou

Wow. These comments are off da chain. “STFU and get a job”? “Al is pimp”? Those leaving such comments are either White, dumb, confused or clueless. This man has dedicated himself to do what other Black folk WITH money & power & influence have either failed to do or won’t do, which is stand up for US. As diverse as we look & act you compare him to a pimp because of his perm? Or because he hustles money out of this big companies that are pimping you & me daily? So what if these big corp paid him consulting fees, they need to pay somebody for their crimes. And I don’t see any of us paying Rev Sharpton any salary for being a moving target for us while we go to work and read/watch his many activities that try to help those of us in need. Even your Sunday preacher gets his salary from our tithes, but not Rev Sharpton. No matter how you try twisting it, it ain’t your money its theirs so unless you’re gonna start paying the Rev for all that he does, YOU need to STFU and let him do his thing and quit hating. I’m glad somebody has stepped up to do his “job” so stop worrying about how he survives when you’re not contributing to him or anyone else involved in our struggle. Civil rights activists are just as relevant today as ever, so wake the hell up!

  44. From Da Lou

And why ya’ll on Jesse so bad? Yeah, he cheated, but so did Clinton and my people’s still love his stankin’ azz! His infidelity has nothing to do with his lifetime of accomplishments for our people, that does not make him a hypocrite. Ya’ll need to learn to forgive as the Good Book says or YOU the hypocrite. If it were true that only he without sin could cast the first stone then most of these blogs wouldn’t exist!

  45. Graphixmeister

Yeah-yeah-yeah, you can take that tripe to somebody else who hasn’t opened a book in a while and is vulnerable to whatever misinformation you want to spew because you do it without misspellings. Jesse lost my respect back in the 60’s after he ran towards MLK’s corpse to cradle it so he could get the blood all over his shirt. He wanted to look like Jackie Kennedy for the cameras. I don’t put any confidence in either of those characters – Jackson or Sharpton. I do my homework and, at the very least, I expect integrity from my ‘leaders.’ I’m college-educated so you can keep stepping along – find another gullible fool to sell that to. Believe whatever works for you. I think it’s you that need to wake up.

  46. Its6amHoGetOut

    Its about f*ckin’ time!

Theres no such thing as “black leaders” unless i elected his ***** to lead me, which I havent!

Rev Al and Jesse can see the cops rape, shoot then arrest your ***** right in front of them, but unless you agree to financial terms with these *****’s youre just some raped, dead or arrested n*gga for them to step over on their way to see their illegitimate kids (Jesse)

  47. phoenix_simone_xoxo has lost 5lbs w/ the inflated gas prices, but my tetas are still big! need milk?

I don’t believe everything I hear, nor read, and sometimes what I see. I treat situations like this, the same way I do about giving money to the homeless. I give because it is right in the eyes of God. Now if that person is not truly in need, and just greedy then that is up to God to deal with. I have no heaven or hell to put anyone in. I don’t always agree with Al, however, I will say that he has done more for the movement of justice that all of us posting put together. Now whether he is shady or not let God deal with him, because only He has the power to do so anyway.

This reminds me of a chapeter that I was reading I think in The Power of a Praying Woman, or The Secret Things of God. It said something to the effect of how people believe everything they hear in the media, but will doubt scriptures in the Bible.

  48. From Da Lou

Oh, I get it, you expect a person to be perfect to be a leader, huh? Flawless, right? You probably can’t name one organization that has one of those– not your church, not your family, h*ll not even our country! Did you “elect” Bush? I didn’t, but still he leads. Like or not, agree or don’t, Rev Sharpton is a leader in the Black community. We don’t have to agree with all of his speeches, but as long as he is taking a stand for my people then he should be supported. And if you chose not to, that’s fine too, but don’t discredit him just because you disagree. We need folk like him to be loud & visible to keep the folk in power in check. Think about that as you go about your day tomorrow as if not for the activities of him & folks like him you azz would still be ridin in the back of the bus! Amazing how “Divide & Conquer” is still relevant today.

  49. From Da Lou

And my response was to those other two sleepwalkers, not you Phoenix. I just hope ALL of my people (and then some) register to vote and FIND A REASON to vote for Obama. Its a sad day when we can’t even trust one of our own to lead us and would rather turn the keys over to that Other man–just because he ain’t one of us. Slavery has permanently damaged a lot of us, but I still have hope that we will do the right thing when the time comes.

  50. From Da Lou

With all your reading and degree(s), Graphixmeister, are you sharing your “knowledge” with all those around you? Or are you keeping it to yourself? Too many of us educated African-Americans only use our skills to help ourselves, only worry about the man in the mirror. But we should be helping those who aren’t as learned and fortunate and be defenders of our community when social issues arise. You can knock Rev Al and other Black leaders all you want, but these are brave men as they put themselves in harms way when they are outspoken about things that White Amerikkka despises–like affirmative action & racial equality. Even all of you haters would hail Rev Al as the G.O.A.T. if he could pull off Reparations for us Black folk, so don’t be a hypocrite by picking & choosing when to support him & others. CONSISTENTLY support our Black leaders!

  51. TooFlyForTheGround

What the hell has Al really done ? Other than ride the wave of great men before or around him. And you can’t justify how many of us are or aren’t bettering our race. You don’t know just because we’re not always in front of the cameras. It’s easy in a 10,000 suit on national T.V., but come do it where I live in the Dirty dirty South.

  52. I appreciate Al for thinking he is a “black leader” but to me he is just another old fashioned Southern Baptist, stuck in tradition, conk wearing, negro spiritual singing, man. I wanna see some new faces and I want them to stop talking in interviews like they just got off the fields. I know that was harsh but it’s 2008. Where are the professional black men that work in the fourtune 500 companies? Or doctors, lawyers, historians, etc. etc.?

  53. Foxy and that damn baby hair! At least that’s what she says it is.
