  • as seen on t.v.

And it’s all because of mom…Great story!

  • Ms.EJ

*wipes tear from my eye* It is always such a pleasure to see a spotlight on our youth. I also see that his MOM played a major part in his education, eagerness, motivation and determination. Super high fives to his mom and to the young man :D

Sidenote: It was real cool when the lady interviewer said “Couldn’t you have just played a game?” and the young man’s response “Well, it is much cooler to know that I own part of the game that I am playing”. Right on!!

If you take part in the American capitalistic system then you should have a stock portfolio. simple. I never understand why we collectively as a people won’t invest in stock. The stock market out performs banks by 11% yearly. It’s not rocket science. It’s simple buy and sell mechanics.

  • ki

    Just, WOW!!!
    (enough said)

  • Shana

I like to see stuff like this black people brancing out from the stereotypes of being ignorant and entertaining to educated.

  • Honey (KEEP ME NEAR THE CROSS…LOL)

    Great story!

  • MizASterling

This is a beautiful look for my daughter’s generation. Ahh. At least there’s hope for some.

  • Ms.EJ

I remember my freshmen year at my university how several professor’s stressed the importance and/or awareness of investing in stock. At that time many college students were using his or her refund check to buy materialistic items, going out to parties or clubbing it up and some still do. I know everyone’s refund check is a certain amount, but some were getting $10k to $11k. My father (RIP DADDY)taught me how to budget. I also had opened up a CD and IRA account. There was a time that I did hit a financial bump, but praise God I am back on track. I will re-visit those days of looking to invest stock.

  • Jamaquina.Cubana

Thanks very much Papito…for the (additional) tips and for being that lil’ bit of positivity for the youth of a misunderstood & constantly targeted race!

I’m REALLY proud of this young man and his mother! These are the things blacks (everyone) needs to teach their children and learn themselves. Blacks need to engage in more wealth-building and less material consumption. CONGRATS!

    @ Streetfeet
Thats crazy!!! I was just about to write that!!! Everybody want to blame the children instead of the parents who were supposed to raise the children in the right direction and failed at doing so. I’m proud of the mother and the son. Obviously if it wasn’t for her he wouldn’t be doing what he is!! :-)
