Although this story is very sad, I can’t say that I’m surprised. From all accounts, Chris Henry was pretty irresponsible in life, so the fact that he died in an irresponsible manner isn’t that shocking. He had been arrested at least five times since turning pro, and was supsended for 14 games in two seasons. I hurt for all his family and friends who were hoping that he had settled down and matured. It’s always sad to see such a young talent gone too soon.

I pray that God will provide comfort to their three beautiful children who are ages: ten months, two and three years old. I also pray that the Lord will give his family as well as his fiancee strength, endurance and direction in this tragic incident. My heart immediately became saddened upon reading this story yesterday on another site.

I am left with several questions which I hope in the coming days will be answered. Now, it is my understanding that at the time of this incident Mr. Henry had a broken arm, therefore it is safe to *****ume that he lost his balance which lead to him falling out of the truck. Therefore, this would mean that his wife to be knew of this injury. If she did why did she not stop the car when he jumped into the back of the truck? In addition, he was found on the side of the road some miles away from his home, did she not think to look back and see if he was still there or not?

It seem’s that towards the start and end of a year that many people die. I understand that people die EVERYDAY, but the grieving process is that much harder when a particular incident could have been prevented.

These preventable incidents remind me of Aaliyah and Micheal Jackson. If the pilot was properly screened and refused the crew’s excessive amount of luggage this would have prevented the plane from being overweight and utimately crashing. Although, Micheal Jackson had no business in taking such a drug the fact still remains that if the doctor had not lost track of time Mr. Jackson would not have fallen into a coma from cardiac arrest.

Well this much is already known. There was a history of turbulence in their relationship. She didn’t stop the vehicle, nor notify authorties once he fell off the vehicle.

Homicide detectives were already involved before Mr. Henry even p*****ed away. I doubt anything comes of it (for a myriad of factors) but she doesn’t look “innocent” by any standard.

I recall this tragedy very well, and it was NO BS. Carruth — a monster — was convicted of conspiracy to commit murder. The mother of his child (a beautiful boy who is the splitting image of his father) was shot to death when she was six months pregnant. His son is now permanently disabled, I believe. I saw a news program some years ago, and the child’s maternal grandmother was interviewed, and it brought tears to my eyes looking at that little boy who will never know his mother. He will always suffer because of the actions of his father.

That was no BS — That was a vicious, depraved act of murder.

The information provided on additional new’s site’s is that Ms. Tonga had no injuries on her body, therefore I doubt very seriously that this was a physical altercation, but strictly verbal. It is normal to argue, because to think that a couple does not is unrealistic. Most people and/or couples argue and make-up later on that day. The only time arguing becomes harmful is if a person begins to threaten, start’s name calling and of course physically *****aults the other party to the matter.

It sure was. Mr. Carruth simply did not want to pay child support for another child that he helped create. This terrible act was premeditated. Mr. Carruth planned a romantic evening with his girlfriend at the time who was pregnant with his son to only have her cornered on a dark street, while the thugs he hired unleashed bullets into her body. God gave her enough street to tell the 911 operator who was with her and shot her. That beautiful educated woman fought for her life and was able to write on note pads all that happened that night that lead to her eventually dying.

In my initial comment earlier I asked those questions regarding if she knew he jumped in the back of the truck, and if she noticed he was no longer there. You’re exactly right. When having a dispute, it could go either way. but in a situation like this, words can either calm or enflame.

I don’t think he would just go after her if she hadn’t sad something to get him upset. And after seeing how she types on her My*****e page, I don’t give her the badge of smartest, most intellectual person at all.

They both may have been very young in the mind and didn’t know the art of coomunication, and this situation shows just that.

Brand, perhaps you should read more thoroughly before you comment. My initial comment was that ” It’s amazing to me that everyone is automatically putting full blame on his fiance, but it definitely seems that Mr. Henry got caught in a storm of his own making.”

I’m not saying that his fiance shouldn’t have stopped if she realized he fell out the back of the truck. She’ll probably be charged with failure to stop and render aid if it determined that she was aware he hand jumped on and had subsequently fallen. What I am saying is that ONLY Mr. Henry was responsible for putting his life in peril in the first place by jumping in the back of the truck.

If all you do is cuss and fight, that is not the makings of a strong mature and long lasting relationship. People need to make better decisions when picking mates. If you continually have problem, and serious problems at that, then that is a sign that this isn’t right for you.

I spoke to a friend who told me he has been consistently arguing with his girl lately and he says it’s draining him bit by bit. So I’ll add to your above statement that arguing is also harmful to the overall relationship if you make it a ritual to argue.

I’m sure there’ll be much more to learn as the story unfolds, and I hope media will allow time for the family to grieve before they start bringing all types of skeletons out of the closet, and hopefully, it won’t turn into a circus. @MADE IN NY- I agree, girl. As Sanjor stated that if that is all a couple do then it is not good at all. My ex use to laugh at me when we would have a disagreement and it made things 10xs worst, because I took it as a sign that he did not care, because nothing was comical about my feelings. I am aware that some people do laugh when they feel uneasy or do not know how to deal with conflict which was the case with my ex. I have argued in the past with friends and ex-boyfriends, but since I am not vulgar or curse it is never nasty in that way, and most times we come to a common ground.

This may have already been mentioned but:

Chris also had a broken arm (why he was away from the team), and this could have contributed to him falling out of the truck or not being able to protect his head during the fall.

Also, the truck is a smaller Ford Ranger type truck which appears to have been raised about 10-15 inches, very small bed as well. So pretty much ole girl had to know he was in the back of the truck.

The reports keep saying he was “found” lying in the road, you’d like to think that even if they were having an argument, if she saw him tumble out and crash in the road (with an already broken arm) that she would have been the one to call the police.

@MS EJ, Only thing when you make your sweet potato pie bake the sweet potatoes instead of boling them , it brings out the flavor better and just use a mixer and make sure you season with nutmeg cinnamon and brown sugar and dont forget the carnation milk or some type of evaporated milk.. i use carnation which is what my mom used from her mom and on and on !! No store bought pie can compare to homeade sweet potato pie!! I use the store bought crust though.. Pie crust in the dough form and i roll it out myself and flour it and brush it with butter to make it flaky.. forget that already made pie crust .. too dry!! i hate dry!!

My thoughts to the children.
Although she may not have intended this to happen. If someone is hanging on to the back of a truck it may be time to roll up the windows stop the truck and call the police (if you are in fear). For him to fall off and die from the injuries she must have been driving erratic like weaving and going fast. She should be investigated fully just like anyone else involved in a domestic dispute where someone dies. It sounds like atleast involuntary manslaughter. This could have been avoided that makes it a tragedy.

@Slide – I just want to drive home the point that men aren’t the only ones who get caught up this way. There are many women who avoid red flags early on in a relationship because the sex is good, or they are turned on physically by their mate.

We as women run across the same challenges. I have girlfriends who get dogged out by their men consistently, and their logic for staying is that their men are sexing them down good, so they would rather compromise themselves and get, in the words of Guy, a “Piece of his love” rather than being by themselves and waiting for the right man.

This is not all women, of course, and I would never generalize us into any one category. There are many more intelligent, independent and strong women who will not settle for less. But, again, my point is that both sexes get caught up. It’s definitely not just a “man” thang.

I see what you’re saying. If it’s an extremely serious situation, I can see why you would be upset with the situation.

The reason I would laugh sometimes is because I knew I was putting up with foolishness and making a scene about it was going to get me nowhere. It was like I was laughing at a situation that was going nowhere.

Someone once told me, the most effective way to get your point across is to speak in a low tone, almost at a whisper. That way the person you are talking to will have to listen closely to hear what you’re saying. Kinda makes sense because silence usually makes people nervous. When you’re loud, it’s expected and therefore they react in the usual manner.

Many arguements are loud and involve the use of profanities, but not all. I was raised where my parents did not argue around me or my sibilings. I only heard three arguments growing up with my parents. They would have discussions or disagreements while we were away or in the car. That is why I can not deal with those who have a problem, but want to get loud and make a scene (I dealt w/one person like that NEVER AGAIN so embarr*****ing). MS EJ, you wash the taters.. (im getting Southern on you now), then you rub them in olive oil or vegetable oil, whatever you have around, then you can wrap them in foil or leave them open , its ok either way as long as you have them oiled they wont crack or break open.. just make sure you season the potaotes when they are done after mixing them with a mixed. add the cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar ana milk and a lil melted butter! whne you pour them into the pie crust .. bake them at 350 degress for 35 to 40 minutes and you are ste.. oh dont forget to pinch the crust with the folk to make the indents .. that always makes it look so regal!! @ SORYY AUNTIE VIV.. didnt mean to make your mouth water!!! What about toasted pecans.. oh wee my mouth is really watering now.. i betta shush for the moment!!

It’s weird because I have the same palette. It mostly occurs after I eat lunch, but I always seem to want something sweet. Cookies, candy bar, something…it doesn’t have to be a full out dessert either, just something with sugar. I was reading this book called ‘Skinny B.i.t.c.h.’ and they kind of touched on why this happens. It’s something that can be controlled if you try, but it’s not easy…lol

It’s a combination of habit and being somewhat addicted to sugar. I’ve tried to eat things like dried cranberries or other fruits just for the sweetness but like you, I kind of want chocolate most of the time. I heard that if you cut out carbs and sweet things all together, this craving can be curbed. It takes discipline.

Where they physicalyy, verbally abusive? Did they stick to issue at hand or did they bring up things not relevant to the topic of discussion.

I was ticked off, SYD…I told her not to go out with her *****ty azz friend, and that if I found out she did, she wouldn’t like what I did…My boy told me what club they were at, and I jumped up, grabbed my wallet, and drove over there…I saw her dancing with some chump, looked at her, looked at him, threw her over my shoulder and carried her azz outta there….(I have my moments too) I drove her back to my place, and proceeded to let her know that I wasn’t going to tolerate her friend talking her into dressing all nasty and hooking up with dudes…If she wanted to be with me, fine, but her girl had to go…..Ordinarily, I wouldn’t have done that, but her friend had a reputation for liking to be with 5 or more guys, and I wasn’t having it!!!!

Not sure why he jumped on the back of the truck! But once he fell off or was thrown off..She was obligated to stop and render help. Call the police whatever. That is where she will probably get in trouble. If I was to run over someone on purpose or not, I can’t just leave, You have to call the police or something. Now I may be so many feet away from them so that they can’t get me. LOL He could have been trying to get her under control. EX drinking and driving and it just turned out wrong. Domestic dispute does not always mean someone was getting beat up.

Ok, first, get an 8 ounce gl*****, fill it with water to about half way….Next, microwave it to about as hot as you can stand….Then take a tablespoon of red (Cayenne) pepper, and stir that in….Gargle with it 2 or 3 times, but make sure you don’t swallow any, because it will burn coming out, and within about 30 minutes, you will be right as rain…..Trust me, this works, and it’s cheaper than buying over-the counter stuff, too…

I’m about to just distance myself from watching the news because I’m so sick and tired of all the killings and robberies going on this is certainly homicide because although she say I repeat she say only him and her were there and he is deceased so I’m guessing that they probably got into a heated argument or what ever… And she probably was doing something that she didn’t have no business doing and she tried to leave in his ride and he probably told herthat she can dip but not in his $hyt and he tried to stop her to get his keys back and what not and she saw him in the back of that truck I’m more than positive that she did and she hit that accelerator and drove off. Murder now tell me that that is not murder!She needs to be glad that I’m not the judge presiding over her case Murder!!!

Who cares what her race is. She was leaving the situation and HE JUMPED ONTO THE BACK OF A MOVING VEHICLE! That was a horrible choice becuase now he has lost his life. Always better to just walk away. Very very sad.
