to ms. jamaica, he did not commit a misdemeanor. he committed a felony which the city and media fails to tell people about. he struck a police officer with his vehicle and he was heading towards another when they opened fire.

according to the new york state penal law the officers were permitted to open fire at the suspect which is why they were found innocent in the trial.

my blood boils everytime i hear about this convicted drug dealer getting a street named after him.

Just saying a chain of events lead to this tragedy… and each person involved played a part in the unfortunate outcome.Let’s just say more than a few people that saw what went down, but were never interviewed by the police….and his homie shouldn’t have said what he knows he said. They all share the blame.

@drenk ur right the tragic death of John Doe isn’t a reason to name a street. But who is to say Sean Bell wouldn’t have been a Cornell West or Eric Holder? We won’t know b/c NYPD decided to be the executioner and thief of Sean Bell’s life. If naming a street after the Blk men they erroneously gunned down gets the cops to think I’m all for it. U are not the judge on how streets should be named so why deny Sean? Work on the streets in various boroughs that are named after crooks and then holla at me about Sean.

Ok really I do understand the Bell’s family’s pain, but what makes him more special than anyone eles. My brother got murdered by the cops on x-mas eve 7 years ago,can I have a street named after him? I really just think all these cops that grew up as punks running around with guns should be re-tested and trained. Stop the violence!

@Soul Ese lets be clear…there is nothing that these young guys did on that night that deserved death! Hell, even SMK gets a trail and a chance to tell his story to a judge, & SMK had NYC in pandemonium. So you see Soul Ese even poppin off at da mouth doesn’t equal death.
