Too bad. I feel for this girl. But, Asians aren’t too crazy about “difference”. I hope she can live a happy life in China. It seems and is quite “interesting” that some black/Asian young people have a tendency to identify with AAs, even though their living in an Asian country. I saw this when learning about the plight of half-Korean orphans who still live in Korea. Koreans don’t like ANY mixtures, but they treat the half-blacks the worst. Many of the kids I saw looked AA. But, I would have thought they lived in the US and grew up in a black area. They dressed, wore hair/makeup like AAs, and were into the popular AA artists. Although AAs have lots of problems, in some ways, I feel like their high, international, “profile” helps some colored/half-black people in other racist countries to feel better about themselves. I remember reading another article where an Indian woman (living in India) was quoted as saying, “Black is beautiful” (the LAST thing most Indians would say, even though they are the BLACKEST people on the face of the earth, just like Africans). Anyway, the racism of Asians is TOO real.

Notice that they said while growing up she didn’t have any problems from other kidds. It’s you f@ck#d up adults that make life difficult for certain individuals. She is a pretty girl and talented at that. This should be the only criteria for winning the show.

Well then Americans should dislike China for MANY reasons.

And then she told me about Black/Korean children and how the people treated them really bad years ago. Even though the tolerance is getting better, they still get it bad.

They said in Bejing for the 2008 Olympics, a lot of the business/restaurants wouldnt serve the black athletes in the Olympic Village. The stars who they knew were served, but they assumed every other black person was trying to rob the place.

It was swept under the rug and media coverage about it was glossed over it. But a lot of the athletes were complained to Olympic officals about it the racism they were encountering there.

lol…yeah, they are. I’ve dated 2 Koreans…one was what they term F.O.B.(frash off the boat) and the other was more integrated, but not quite a “twinkie”. She was the Jap/Korean (correction: should be for her father was Japanese, mom Korean) But even then, I was TOTALLY thrown into the Korean way of life when I dated them both…and that spanned 2 years.

We ALL need to learn to value the importance of understanding OTHERS.

Yes. It’s possible to establish good relations with people from other groups. One just has to have the desire, open-mindedness, patience, and “good fortune” to meet another with the same.

This is because black people are considered inferior worldwide. But it’s to be expected.

Not all Asians behave in this manner, some of my closest friends are Asian – those are my girls. They support me in all of my endeavors.

In the past, I’ve worked with very racist hispanic females and it used to trip me out because they were considered a minority too, but acted like they were so above black people because of their lighter skin and silky hair.

I am half Grenadian and half Nigerian. The West Indian were not supportive of me and my sisters and brothers, they just laugh or make fun of us & Africans even though, they are black themselves.

My Mothers family told her that my African Father would have 5 wives and we would live on trees etc etc. Instead, we had servants,drivers,cleaners and a massive house back in Africa.

In the end, I have become more Nigerian and most of my friends are mixed. I have a successfull career and avoid west indians like the plague…they sometimes get me to come to parties and roll me out like the ‘entertainment’, they say,’she’s the African one’. Like Africa is a country.

I have since explore Africa and I am really proud to be African.

Whites lose power as a race mixing, they get wiped out but they have to because they have have invaded every part of the world- China, Africa, and India seem to have the strongest blood….. I think it lies in that..

Girl, sometimes the “naps” RULE. (lol) But, that’s ok. “Nappy” hair can be beautiful too, as long as you take care of it. I personally LOVE black texture (though I prefer it w/o all of the combing “complications”). Black and Oriental hair is my FAVORITE. I’ve got Black and Black hair. But, it works for me.

As many black women there are in some Latin countries. Don’t you find that funny? There is more to this story. For one thing, the mother was already married to someone else when she got pregnant by this girl, and her baby daddy black, so that definitely put the typical stereotype for black men in play. I still think it’s wrong for racism to still exist but it does in every country, especially if you are a foreigner.

If you didn’t know that many asians are racist and or prejudice; you probably just haven’t been exposed to many asian families. Even when I kick it with my friends that are asian and everything is peace, we both know their parents and definitely their grand parents have a problem. But don’t think for a minute that the racism and prejudice is limited to “black” people. This just happens to be the topic if discussion.

But lets be realistic and think for a moment.

Why does the world have a problem with the african diaspora? Is it the fear of an african planet? Does it appear when asian women have children with african men the child will be a person of color with the african traits a little more dominate (i.e skin pigmentation, full lips, etc)? Does the african gene appear to be most dominate and thus rightfully so disturbing to other races and or nationalities? Is this why a concentrated population like china’s probably would have a problem with race blending thus a problem with Lou Jing’s popularity and obvious beauty?

Just an hypothesis, I’m not a geneticist.

Personally, I think racism is played and to judge a man or woman by the color of their skin and not the content of character is archaic and illustrates how socially primitive humanity really is even in 2010. Humanity as a whole would like to think we’re so advanced but in reality that just isn’t the case. It’s neo-tribalism, I’m not impressed.

The asian ppl are not only this way in China,Vietnam etc. However they are this way in america too. I too have a daughter who is black and asian. I am married to her father and he decided that it would be best, to cut ties to his own family. Why come to america if you are not ready for change. Why is it that everybody hates US but we are expected to love everybody in other races despite the fact that they hate us.

There is not a so called “homogeneous society” in the world where black people are even tolerated much less embraced. China has a billion ppl most of whom have never even met a white person much less a black person. They are mostly still a rural society despite the rapid industrialization of the last 20 years. Chinese = most characters, very tonal (one word meaning many things based on tone)
Japanese = hardest to write (IMO)
Korean = easiest to learn

Funny, why are blacks so surprised and outraged that the Chinese or any Asian nation/people do not want to race mix with blacks? Which brings us to America. It seems as if here, racism only exists between blacks and whites, with black always the professional victims. But the reality is that blacks are in fact quite racist themselves, often targeting Asians with their bullying and racism. I think blacks buy into the whole negative imagery drummed up whites, yet complain bitterly about it when it pertains to themselves as if only they were victims. Well I will say this, I’d rather live in a white person’s neighborhood/society than a black’s. More often than not, black dominated areas are just plain violent and ghetto. Just look at the 30 Asian students beaten up by blacks at the Philadelphia H.S. recently. Currently the Asians are suing the school for turning a blind eye. Please, blacks should really take a good look at themselves before crying RACISM. If anything, Asians have always been polite to blacks. What they don’t approve of is race-mixing with darker skinned peoples. They are their own sovereign country and if they want to keep it as homogeneous as they deem fit, it is their right to do so. Since when was China the melting pot of America? So keep your American policing in America and deal with your own racist issues first.

I know exactly what you mean I am half filipino and half black(my mother is filipino and my father is black). I experienced the hate from many black girls growing up because of the way I look. I have long naturally curly hair which I often straighten, light skinned, and chinky eyes My aunts have married and had kids with other races and my filipino family has been very accepting of the people their biracial kids choose to bring home and date. I love bringing new people around and giving them insight on my culture, from the foods we eat to the our rituals. (Shout out to someone who wrote something earlier about kimchi, love it! People basically just need to be a little more open minded and not be so negative toward things that are unfamiliar to them.

I was sorry to hear about what this girl had to go through. I hope she is a stronger person for this experience. This must be a painful experience for her, but bringing the widespread ugliness of racism to light may help even a few of her countrymen to change their thinking. I would hope they would be more concerned about shipping out lead laced products to the world instead of bullying one poor little girl.
