I’m the product of a marriage and daddies still leave. Marriage doesn’t guarantee a thing. I personally want a marriage before a child but I also realize that even after I’m married, I could still end up being a single mother raising my child. It’s happened to too many women and men for that matter. There’s no perfect fool proof formula to life. You just have to do what’s best for you.

Thats whats wrong with society today, people do “whatever feels good”, “if it feels right, do it”. Having a baby is a lifetime responsibility, so why not provide a proper foundation and solid union for your kids. People need to stop being so D.A.M.N. selfish.

It is amazing how so many people believe that being married is the cure-all for the ills of society. It behooves me how narrow-minded so many people can be. With all of the currently married/before children/marriages currently divorced one would think that the single most important issue would be if the child was born into a home filled with love.
I challenge all you (married before children) to look within yourselves (because MOST of you were either born out of wedlock or have a child out of wedlock) and explain just how life is better for a child in a married home versus your own experience.
Unfortunately, marriage does not equate to happiness or there wouldn’t be so many ‘headlines’ detailing yet another marriage that is either ending in divorce or experiencing infidelity. I’m sure Elin Woods, Shaunie O’Neal, Juanita Jordan, (just to name a few) would concur.
FYI: A true HOODRAT are those women who have children who DO NOT take care of their children and they come in all SHAPES, SIZES and COLORS!

Although I live in East Oakland, I will admit that this is a very generous thing to do, because East Oakland is known as the “Flatlands” as opposed to Oakland Hills/Berkeley area, where some of the countries riches people live. You never hear or see any of them other than Danny Glover and Delroy Lindo doing things for the Black Community in Oakland/Bay Area. While I myself am *trying* to wait until marriage to get pregnant, I don’t judge people who haven’t done the same thing. It’s simply my choice. I was born to a single teenaged-mother and my life has turned our great despite ALOT of problems at the start. Wow!! Keyshia must be having another basketball player like her boyfriend, that’s quite a baby bump there! Funny how her stomach could be so “HUGE” and the rest of her frame is still the same petite size including those stick legs of hers. That’s ultimately good though for her, because weight gain and swelling during pregnancy can be uncomfortable and even dangerous for mom and baby sometimes, but it looks like she will bounce right back.
