Cycle 7: ANTM...Will it Ever End?

It's that time of year again...the eagerly anticipated new season of the highly rated reality show America's Next Top Model. First impression of this new season: yawn, blah, la-dee-da. Same as the first impression of the new network, the CW.
Sorry young aspiring models, but this should be last season of this show. The first episode was filled with the usual: crying, bitchiness, and that one lame-o who doesn’t want to pose nude. Why the hell did you try out???? They pose nude EVERY season. The girls this cycle are really nothing to write home about. There are quite a few black models this season, but they’re no Eva “The Diva”. Also, the show features its first set of twins.
In a nutshell, Tyra looks like a drag queen in every look of hers this episode, and has an extremely wack voiceover describing the extremely wack theme of the house: “TYRA” magazine. Can’t get any cornier than that.

ANTM is criticised because of the contestant choices and their lack of modeling potential. Fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld commented on ANTM and rival Project Runway in the September 2006 issue of Harper's Bazaar. Lagerfeld says, "Trash that is funny for five minutes if you're with other people. If you're alone, it's not funny. Those girls will NEVER be the next Gemma Ward. There is no justice in the fashion business." [3]
Nicely put, Mr. Lagerfeld! And with that said, Cycle 7 of America's Next Top Model is not gonna top the list of must-see TV this season....especially if we have to go through listening to "Dani" bka Danielle from last season speak on her life as a cover girl EVERY damn episode. Sheesh, they were right, she definitely gotta get that public-speaking voice together, almost as bad as Beyonce...maybe worse.
