Jayson Williams was injured in a car accident after drinking and driving earlier this week….Details are emerging about what went down that night:

Ex-NBA star Jayson Williams was partying at an upper East Side bar before he crashed his luxury SUV into a tree and fractured his neck, the Daily News has learned. The former NBA star, who was charged Tuesday with driving while intoxicated, stopped in at Aces & Eights Saloon on First Ave. about 1 a.m. Photos show him mugging with strangers, and a patron at the bar said his friend bought Williams at least three shots of Jameson whisky.

“He seemed loose, like he was having a good time,” said the patron, who requested anonymity. “He was not any different from anyone else. I mean, he wasn’t sloppy drunk or falling all over the place.” Williams was good-natured when asked to pose for photos. “He was loving every minute of getting attention,” the patron said.

He said Williams left the bar just before 2 a.m. and began walking uptown. The bar’s owner said Williams – who is about to face a retrial in the fatal shooting of his limo driver – came in with the owner of the local restaurant Samalita’s, but she denied it.

“He comes here all the time,” said Samalita’s owner Sam Arcara. “He’s a nice man, obviously under a lot of pressure.” After leaving Aces & Eights, Williams headed to Bar East a couple of blocks away, the Aces owner said. The bartender at Bar East declined to comment. It’s unclear where Williams, 41, went next – but at 3:15 a.m., he exited the FDR Drive, jumped a curb and smashed his Mercedes-Benz SUV into a 40-foot tree near E. 20thSt. and Avenue C, sources said. Cops found him in his vehicle’s passenger seat – as if to make it seem he wasn’t the driver, sources said. Surveillance video showed Williams was alone, police said. Williams refused a Breathalyzer test. His blood was drawn at Bellevue Hospital and will be tested today, the sources said.

Jayson, Jayson, Jayson…
