How many scholarships do you think he can give out with what he paid for that chain? You give out $10,000 in scholarships and spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on jewerly and cars. I commend him, but the disparity overshadows his efforts.

All I have to say is at least he is trying to do something for the community, they have some rappersd that don’t do anything positive for their communities.

if his mom is or was a bustitbaby im sure she herself wouldn’t mind being recognized as one,also when women stop exploiting themselves and act as if they respect themselves,then the rappers won’t have anything to talk about.

Why are yall hating on Plies because he decided to come himself a goon? If that’s the term he uses to declare himself a street dude so what??? If he likes it I love it! He’s out here doing something positive with the fame he’s receiving how many other rappers can you say the same for?
Look, for real I am just glad to see the report is not about his third arrest or him beefing with a geriatric rapper. Finally, Plies could get it if he grew about.. 5 inches taller.
Good idea Plies. We need all the financial help we can get trying to go to college these days. That is a good thing.
Even a baby step towards doing the right thing is alright with me. Thanks to Plies and his brother for taking a first step towards something that could make a difference in someone’s life.

I think it is wonderful that he is providing an opportunity for those who have a stigma on them because who their parents are and what their parents did. I have heard Plies give several interviews with Doug Banks (when he had a morning show) and this guy sounds so thankful and so humble to be where he is now. I like some of his music and some of his music makes me cringe at how nasty the lyrics are, but I have to say…. as an advocate of education and a fellow Floridian, I think his efforts are wonderful. Keep doin’ what you do, Plies.

I understand the premise of what you are saying about the KKK comment; however, I think when one has a life experience such as an incarcerated parent, they can better relate to someone else who has the same issue.
It is very difficult for children who have incarcerated parents to function and move through this lifetime without the stigma of the parent’s incarceration on them. The parent’s life choice affects the child and you can sit here a say it doesn’t, but it does. People look at them (the child) and have already placed judgment that they are going to be just like the no good incarcerated parent or just as worse. But he is sending a message to the children on this people that the life your parent chose is not yours.
Let the man be.. if he wants to be a goon let him be..at least he has the means and heart
to be productive and giving.

Image aside, this post is about a brotha doing something truly positive and thoughtful and I find that there is way too much negativity in the responses.
He does not HAVE TO pay anybody’s school tuition but he’s showing true love and concern for his people.

I just don’t understand him. Whenever I listen to him talk on an interview I am so impressed with him he comes across as very articulate, intelligent, black man, no slang or “ghetto talk.” I heard him on one interview where he was dropping so much knowledge. A women called in who was going through some rough times and he instantly offered to help her. It was so touching everyone in the studio was crying. I listen to him and I really want to support him and then I listen to his CD and I am totally disgusted, but I guess I have to at least commend him for trying, b/c at least he is truly in his heart trying to give back. I really believe he is doing what he has to do to make money so he can help the community, for some reason positivity is not given a chance so in order to sell they must engage in coonery. On that same radio show they played one of his new songs that his label will not let him release as a single, it was so positive and inspirational (I still have yet to hear it on the radio). It is not the rapper that is a hypocrite it is the label

This is great. I know Plies doesn’t show it, but he is educated. He attended a good University in Miami,OH. The name escapes me.
I like Plies I love his music and the lyrics will make you want to rip his ***** apart he talks a mad game he probably would be alot more attractive without the gold teeth though………..just keeping it real
