Finally a beautiful and sensible black woman who isn’t popping out children at 17 with no commitment from her baby daddy, a decent job or education. *rolls eyes*

I applaud Gabrielle for being one of the few black women of reason out there. Black women who nag at her decision to not have children right now in her life need to fall back. Her “biological clock” is hers and hers alone and God will bless her with a child when she feels ready and able (last time I checked, women begin menopause around 50 years of age, not 35 *rolls eyes again*) And those that think it’s cute to have children in their teens and early twenties because they think it will keep them connected to a deatbeat thug or because it’s “cute” need to get their ovaries removed and their heads slapped.

I agree with Gabrielle. It’s not every sista’s desire to have a baby at 14 and live in the projects. I’d rather end up a 40 year old childless RICH woman than a 40 year old greatgrandmother with high blood pressure, sagging titties and a overcrowded ghetto apartment full of badazzed greatgrandkids. Sisters like Halle who wait to have their babies later still look young and beautiful while some of those sisters who believed in having them at 15 look all of 80 by the time they hit 40.

GOOD FOR YOU GABBIE!!! I’m over 30 and decided years ago that I didn’t want any children, and I haven’t regretted it for a second. It irritates me that people want to get mad when a woman says she doesn’t want kids, like it’s all we’re good for or that it’s what we’re SUPPOSED to do. Then they wanna argue you down, vowing that YOU’LL CHANGE YOUR MIND or WHEN YOU MEET THE ONE, HE’LL CHANGE YOUR MIND!! (Siiggghhhh…PALEEZE) Seeing all these unhappy women loaded down with kids that they didn’t want in the first place, kids that they love, but cannot care for, and especially all these poor parentless kids in the system is just ridiculous!! I’m loving my single-and-free life!! I don’t have any pets either, but I do intend on getting a couple! =)
