The ecclectic neo-soul diva Erykah Badu performed live in Dublin, Ireland last night. We can always rely on Ms. Badu to bring forth that unique brand of originality. And for those of you who were left unawares, here’s a little Badu tid bit for your afternoon trivia gathering:
In additon to performing shows across the pond in Europe this summer, R&B star Erykah Badu will grace campaign ads for fragrancier Tom Ford’s new “White Patchouli” perfume. Several images of the “Honey”singer will appear in print ads throughout the summer/fall season including the September issue of US magazine. The first of the images, picture above features an elegant pose reminiscent of a 80s era Diana Ross.

I think Eryka, India.Irie, and Jill Scott are the only female artist out there that truly embrace thier blackness. And I appreciate that to the fullest. Other artist are too busy trying to look European, while these ladies have never sold out.
ERYKAH IS SO BEAUTIFUL, AND NATURALLY SO. SOMETIMES I DO SCRATCH MY HEAD IN AWE AT HER ARTISTIC DISPLAY OF CREATIVITY.
I love me some Badu – the girl is bad but, I could do that, now to doomsday, w/out ever having to see her in person (or on film, for that matter). Her style of dress is such an extremely personal statement for her, that outside of that, it makes absolutely no sense. I’ll keep my headset on though.
