Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr fought with all his might for black people, as a race, to have equality America. The road that he traveled has paved the way for blacks to be in the position to be more than what America wanted or even allowed them to be. Thanks to Dr. Martin Luther King, blacks have risen and continue to rise in America, making every effort to make his words more than just a speech.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr’s I HAVE A DREAM SPEECH:

Dr. King had a dream and today his dream lives on. If he were alive today, do you think Dr. King would be proud of his race and his country??? Would black people even be in the position that they are today to make a difference in this country???

Dr. King’s actual birthday falls on January 15th but his day is always recognize on the Monday closest to that date. Happy Birthday to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr!!!

    HAPPY B-DAY MLK!

    I believe that if Dr. King were alive he would think that we still have a long way to go. Part of his dream has been realized. There are plenty of black boys and white girls walking hand in hand. As a race, however, black people have taken several steps backward. Our young people are going out the world backward with little guidance and hope for the future. Too many young mothers who still need mothering themselves are trying to raise children. Our prisons are overcrowded with black men. Unity amongst black males and black females is at an all time low. And many of us fail to respect one another and have put little value on human life.

    @BossLady,

    Was that couple giving birth a married couple? If not than working on MLK day wasnt the worst thing about that whole situation. As a matte of fact, it doesnt make sense.

  • Hope4more

    If King was alive he would be indeed sad that some failed to see that it is Not up to the white man to show us how to raise up in economic wealth, but for us to care for ourselves. We use to have businesses and stores, now kids are programmed to want tricked out cars, big booty broads, and enough money to just go to the club. Our mind set is what he wanted us to change. Parents can start to change that, the closer and involved with your children shows a direct impact on how they will do later in life.

    Happy Birthday Dr. King.

    Let’s remember to keep the dream alive. One person can make a difference. Make your difference a positive one!

    @tellthetruth5678,

    I am sure there were plenty of white cleaning ladies in the 1960s, and Latinas, and Asians etc. However, since the Civil Rights era, black folks have actually gone backwards. Yes, we have more opportunities than our grandparents but we havent taken advantage of them, by and large Worse, all the gains post 1960s especially the black middle class was practically decimated. Downward mobility affected blacks more than any other community. We make less money than our grandparents did in relative terms. Our grandparents had homes, we live in apartments.

    His dream is fading. My son got black and white girls fighting over him. Is it 2010? How about getting an education and rebuilding Africa. Only then do we need not to dream, but to live.

    also all you blk folks donating to help haiti and the bush/clinton fund should be ashamed you are a disgrace to your race donating to the men who created these problems in the first place cuz clinton never left office with a surplus in fact there hasn’t been a surplus since the gold standard was removed by nixon and replaced with fiat money but that’s a whole nother subject that is probably too over many of your heads but haiti is the new katrina and none of that donation money ever made it to the blk people who needed it same thing bout to happen in haiti thanks for everything ignorance is obviously bliss for the unconscious black community these days don’t even know HAARP was involved and Hugo Chavez co-signed that it was, HAARP research base for ionosopheric studies is right next door @ Puerto Rico the largest telescope for it in the world is there
