Wesley was one of the 1st “black men” to publicly degrade an entire race of women (black women) & for that he should’ve served jail time but for the tax issue…I’ve been hearing & reading about illegal taxation & although I pay my taxes on time annually, I hope that his situation will bring more light & info to this matter. Now back to his degredation of black women. Wesley is the guy that black women 1st loved when we saw him in Mo Betta Blues. We ran around saying how he was so great, fine & chocolate. In reality it was a great role written by a man that publicly carries himself as a black man (Spike Lee). Any good actor put in that sexy role with those clothes & the swagger that the role called for could’ve pulled it off but Wesley was the lucky one. That’s why I think it was so shocking & appaling to us when he said the things that he said in Ebony magazine. Yea sure it’s been years ago but meanwhile he let the world know in no uncertain terms why someone that looks like someone in his family wouldn’t be good enough to build a legacy with. Hey Wes to each his own but why degrade an entire race of women in the process? I myself date other races (as well as my own) but not in a million years would I say to a non black man why it is that I wouldn’t build a family with a black man. On top of that if a non black man were to say to me why it is that he wouldn’t be with someone within his own race, I would lose respect for him & would *****ume he has more than just mental issues.. That was some houseboy stuff from Wesley if I’ve ever heard it. Sadly Wesley set a trend that has not & may not ever die. He made it acceptable to continuously & methodically degrade & debase an entire race of women. I wish his mixed daughter luck because at this point in this world & based on her features, it will not be easy for her to p***** as an Asian woman. The only mixed Asian that Asians embrace as their own is Tiger Woods. That’s why we haven’t publicy seen any Asian folks rallying for an exoneration eventhough he publicly put them on a pedestal. What Wesley said is something perhaps a large majority of a generation of black women will never forget. Notice we didnt’ take the time to do a letter writing campain on his behalf like we did for Ron Isley??? Good luck Wes.
