Usher and son Usher V are on the cover of the Essence Magazine, August 2008 issue. Here’s what the proud papa has to say about fatherhood:
“He’s gonna admire me, he’s gonna look up to me. He’s gonna say, ‘I wanna be’ or he should say – ‘I wanna be like my father.”
When asked about his marriage to Tameka, Usher responds, “They think that it was forced. I’ve heard a lot of comments like, “Oh, she trapped him.” “He got a baby by her, and then she’s married and she’s set for life. No. She wasn’t pregnant when I asked her to marry me. There’s some sort of huge conspiracy over this, the fact that I made these choices in my life. No I grew older. As a man, I have to take responsibility and take a hold of my life. I’m accountable for what happens to my life now.”
Not for nothing but fatherhood looks good on ole Usher – but it’s rather amusing how buddy boy is constantly justifying his marriage to Tameka. Interesting indeed…

The baby is adorable. As far as Usher the artists, I could care less with the scrappish album he put out and all the talk about his marriage. It don’t matter what people ask cause the media will always do that. See all the questions and rumors they do about Halle and her man, Bey and Jay. Those people just ignore it and keep it moving. Usher always contradict himself which is why people keep asking him because in another interview he said she was pregnant and people should be happy that he manned up and stuff. Either way whether pregnant or not that woman was still married while with Usher anyways which is why people call her triflin.

Honestly, just like many new mothers, I feel fathers, and in this case in particular Usher, should have fallen back and been with this family instead of trying to come out with is garbage that he did. Take a few years off to be with your wife and new son. I am not knocking him for being there or marrying the girl. If he loves her and wants to be with her great and they have a family, even better. These negative critics and bloggers have been making harsh comments towards her since he announced the impending marriage. These comments have been hurtful, and unjustifiably mean. It is ones own personal choice in choosing a mate. The public and fans have no right to critique his choice. If someone was making negative comments toward your significant other you would be livid as well. It should be of no concern to anyone who he decides to marry or have children with.
The music should be our only concern, not his personal life. I am sorry that he has had disappointing record sales. His last 2 albums were classics and he should be respected for that. He is a talented artist and he will survive this setback.

I think he’s constantly justifying his marriage to Tameka because people and the media are always questioning his motives behind the relationship. I just think it makes him look like he’s trying to convince himself by saying the same thing in every interview which is “Im a grown man and I have to take care of my responsibility”. It makes him sound like that was the reason why he got married, to solidify his manhood.
