Kwame Kilpatrick’s love of “Text Sex” has just gotten his simple ass into even more trouble:
Armed with newly obtained text messages, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy is poised to accuse Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick of cheating on his wife with multiple women in an expansion of the perjury case against him, Worthy’s office confirmed Monday.
The law is coming down pretty hard on this cat, but no one can say that he wasn’t asking for it. SMH.

Personally I do not give a rip who he is banging. I am so sure they can find evidence of other corruption but they are zeroing in on this because it is more “newsworthy”. Kwame is not being investigated because he slept around on his wife. He was indicted for perjury pertaining to his testimony during lawsuit filed by two dectectives (black dectectives btw)
who claimed that Kwame fired them for investigating his “entourage”.
The dectectives won their lawsuit and was awarded 8 million dollars. Kwame initally stated that he was going to appeal the decision but the detectives’ lawyers showed Kwame text messages that proved that he fired the dectectives in retailation for their investigation AND a bunch of other unethical stuff such as his affair with his Chief of Staff. So Kwame wrote them a check with the taxpayers money. The Detroit Free Press found out about the texts and now Kwame is being charged with multiple felony counts.
This scandle also has nothing to do with Kwame being black. I believe that many politicans are just as corrupt as he is and when their ***** hits the fan they get in trouble too. What is truly sad about this situation is that the corruption in Kwame’s administration seems to be very widespread. Several members of Detroit’s city council and Kwame’s dad are being investigated by the FBI for taking bribes. Meanwhile the city of Detroit is broke as hell.

Thank you for posting the facts. I like to stay level-headed and keep in mind what you mentioned, plus the murder of the exotic dancer, as being the tangible facts that we need to focus on.
BUT-I still think he’s an even bigger a$$ for *****ting it up like this…. I understand everyone has to get their groove on, but he deserves to be thrown to the wolves.
And is it just me, but I’d like to think that I’d be sending steamy text messages to my man, and vice versa. I’ve never been married, so I don’t know what it’s like to desire something outside of what I have so badly, but why can’t people put this kind of heat and p*****ion into the relationship they have, not some outside man/woman.

The problem isnt the fact that he lied about an affair. The problem is that he used 8.4 million dollars of the city’s money to cover it up when the popos he fired got ahold of the text messages. 8.4 million dollars to cover up an affair and a strippers murder while crime runs rampant, city jobs are being taken away, and the detroit public school system fails its children.
City workers have faced over 1000 layoff including those with over 30 years service. This dude put close to 100 members of his unqualified family in high positions and not one has been laid off yet.
As a black woman I disgusted everytime he pulls the race card. No white man has been Detroit and its people over like Kilpatrick and he aint go no vaseline
Oh yeah and the city council aint ***** either. If you read the free press everybody runnin scared cuz the feds in town. Aides of some coucil members were caught on tape receiving bribes in connection with a sewer deal and a slew of shady characters including the mayor’s father.
@Shavon: It is not even a morals issue. As a government official, he used taxpyer dollars and city property to carry on his dalliances and throw lavish events, while the citizens of Detroit suffered. When he was caught, he and his lover and Chief of Staff (?) Christine Beatty lied under oath about the firing of police officers who knew of the affair, the murder of the stripper, and other illegal activities, and also threatened the positions of others. He has purchased expensive vehicles and other things using city money for personal use, and is now using the city’s coffers to finance his ordeal in court.
It is not about morals, although his amoral azz doesn’t care, it is about the people of Detroit who are hurting and need government that supports them and helps progression, not lead them down a greased chute to Hell.

I have a lot of empathy for the citizens of Detroit. Although cheating on your spouse is wrong, that’s between him and his wife. However, lying in court under oath and using taxpayer money to handle his personal issues is absolutely wrong. That’s just common ***** sense, and for him suggest that it’s a racial issue is ridiculous. The people of Detroit are in dire need of *****istance, and this fool is spending their hard-earned money on his own shenanigans. After all, it is supposed to be public service…not self service.
