The problem isnt the fact that he lied about an affair. The problem is that he used 8.4 million dollars of the city’s money to cover it up when the popos he fired got ahold of the text messages. 8.4 million dollars to cover up an affair and a strippers murder while crime runs rampant, city jobs are being taken away, and the detroit public school system fails its children.

City workers have faced over 1000 layoff including those with over 30 years service. This dude put close to 100 members of his unqualified family in high positions and not one has been laid off yet.

As a black woman I disgusted everytime he pulls the race card. No white man has been Detroit and its people over like Kilpatrick and he aint go no vaseline

@Shavon: It is not even a morals issue. As a government official, he used taxpyer dollars and city property to carry on his dalliances and throw lavish events, while the citizens of Detroit suffered. When he was caught, he and his lover and Chief of Staff (?) Christine Beatty lied under oath about the firing of police officers who knew of the affair, the murder of the stripper, and other illegal activities, and also threatened the positions of others. He has purchased expensive vehicles and other things using city money for personal use, and is now using the city’s coffers to finance his ordeal in court.

It is not about morals, although his amoral azz doesn’t care, it is about the people of Detroit who are hurting and need government that supports them and helps progression, not lead them down a greased chute to Hell.

Sorry, Can’t feel sorry for him, I hate cheaters.

However, lying in court under oath and using taxpayer money to handle his personal issues is absolutely wrong. That’s just common ass sense, and for him suggest that it’s a racial issue is ridiculous. The people of Detroit are in dire need of assistance, and this fool is spending their hard-earned money on his own shenanigans. After all, it is supposed to be public service…not self service.
