Citing what he called the “overwhelmingly positive response to my jokes about killing Iranians,” presumptive G.O.P. presidential nominee John McCain issued today a list of his favorite humorous remarks on the subject.

Titled “John McCain’s Top Ten Funniest Ways to Kill Iranians,” the list was published on his official campaign website at www.JohnMcCain.com/funnywaystokilliranians. (page has been removed)

Speaking in a video on the site, a smiling Sen. McCain says, “My friends, in these trying times in which we live, there’s one thing all Americans can agree on: killing Iranians is hilarious.” Sen. McCain, who first joked about killing Iranians months ago by singing “bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran” to the tune of the Beach Boys’ hit “Barbara Ann” and who yesterday commented that the U.S. could kill Iranians with cigarettes, was apparently “just warming up,” one aide said today.

“Anyone who has enjoyed Sen. McCain’s side-splitting jokes about killing Iranians will be blown away by this list,” the aide said. “He’s in fine form.” Sen. McCain’s list of funny ways to kill Iranians ranges from the caustic — “Send Iran lead-based hookah pipes from China” — to the whimsical — “Tell Christie Brinkley that Iran has been cheating on her.”The list ends with what Sen. McCain dubs the number one funniest way to kill Iranians: “Vote for me.”

It’s just as we’d suspected. That whole soft spoken act is just a cover. This cat is a blood thirsty brute who can’t wait to get those arthritic fingers on that Nuke button.

    I did recognize the piece from HuffPo that is listed above as a parody, but John McCain has actually made more than one reference to killing Iranians. I’ve seen other political blogs link to Horowitz’s piece.

    The sad part is he has made about two jokes that I know of, at high profile events, about killing them. It’s like, doesn’t anyone work with him on what to say and what not to say?! They wouldn’t be able to parody anything if he hadn’t made the stupid comments to begin with.

What humor does he think the American people will find in such a comment because I do not see anything funny about listing a number of ways to kill people, isnt that planning a genocide of sorts. And if an Iranian person had made a similar comment on plotting ways to kill Americans, it would have turned into something else.     I went and researched more info about this situation and his jokes… not only does this 1 site report the incident, but other accredited news sites have video of his comment and additional information that backs what jokes were said.

    I am proud to be 1/2 Iranian. I was born in DC and proudly raised in America. The only thing Iranian in me is my blood. I do not hate America, I do not embrace the Muslin religion, and I love everyone.

    Yea, Iran has some issues with America, some justified, others not, some deep rooted in their history (just as we have history that affects how we view other countries and past wars fought) but that gives nobody a right to joke about killing someone.

    Who the hell wants to elect a man who is clearly racist/judgemental when this country is so diverse, how dare he!

    Damnit Obama, c’mon do this thing. Get into that white house, please.

    Don’t get me wrong. McCain is a lunatic and a douchebag. I just don’t think there’s a need to promote parody as facts when the facts speak for themselves (ie. the very real comments that McCain has made about killing Iranians).

    I mostly blame Huffington Post for running these types of articles under their news section because a lot of people just don’t understand parody and satire and in turn pass it off as the truth, thus spreading misinformation.
