I was not going to post on this discussion, over choice of apparel. However, I keep reading on various sites that Kanye’s choices of wardrobe is original. Frankly I must set the record straight. Kanye’s style of dressing is not new. Ask someone forty, or older and they will tell you that Kanye’s choice in clothing is a throw back to the early 80s.
The Bill Cosby sweaters, the Izod, Polos shirts with the collars up. This is all early, and mid 80s gear. If you have any doubts, watch a few episodes of the Cosby’s. And you will see Theo Huxtable wearing what Mr. West is taking credit for today. Some of your own parents were wearing, these very styles 25 years ago. Show anyone 40 or older a picture of Kanye in his current attire, and they will laugh and say. “I was wearing that shit in 9th grade.” There is no new anything. That would take great imagination, which recent generations seem too vapid to have.

However, the reason Kanye gets props in the fashion world is because the style he wears is new within the hip-hop industry.
