A Nation of Whiners??

Posted by Bossip Staff

John McCain’s campaign co-chairman and long time friend expressed his views about Americans recently:

Texan Phil Gramm [said] that much of Americans’ economic pain and uncertainty is psychosomatic [during] an interview with the conservative Washington Times. “You’ve heard of mental depression. This is a mental recession,” he told the paper. “We have sort of become a nation of whiners. … You just hear this constant whining, complaining about a loss of competitiveness, America in decline.”

Dig Obama’s response to that garbage:

“I guess what he meant was, it’s a figment of your imagination, these high gas prices,” Barack Obama told supporters in Fairfax, Va. “America already has one Dr. Phil. We don’t need another one when it comes to the economy.”

Naturally, McCain was quick to distance himself from that statement, although we’re sure he shares the same views. These Republicans are so out of touch with reality, and Obama was quick to call them on that shyte.

Can politics get any more nit picky and boring. Somebody wake me up when people start signing policies that matter and help the average aAmerican get out of dabt until then…..zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  19. The_Truth

Funny how this post has under 20 comments. . .and Khia’s gets nearly 1000.

    -Think about that.

  20. Aunt Viv

Sounds like Phil Gramm has been sniffin’ on some grams of cocaine for this ridiculous statement.

  21. @thetruth

“Funny how this post has under 20 comments. . .and Khia’s gets nearly 1000.

    -Think about that.”

That’s actually something I’d rather not think about.

  22. Somer

I guess I just imagined that my tank when from $17 to fill up to $56. I need to wake the ***** up & stop day dreaming. It’s all in my head.

  23. Somer

The really scary thing is if McCain wins, that fool was 1st in line as Secretary of Treasury. A rich ***** who is so out of touch with average American’s that he would not give a rats ***** if gas reach $10 per gallon.

  24. vachick

yea when i cant afford to have a relationship/see my friends cause everytime i get in tha car money is blown..you cant tell me aint nothin wrong…like katt williams said its no reason to have to make life decisions at the pump lol p.s barack so fine..if you need any INTERNS call me boo..i got a nice royal blue dress too =)

  25. Aunt Viv

When you’re so comfortable in your bubble and far removed from the plight of most Americans it’s not so far fetched to suggest that we’re just imagining things.

  26. @somer

“The really scary thing is if McCain wins, that fool was 1st in line as Secretary of Treasury. A rich ***** who is so out of touch with average American’s that he would not give a rats ***** if gas reach $10 per gallon.”

We just found out about this fool. i wonder who else is slated to be in with McCain that we don’t know about.

  27. Aunt Viv

Note to Phil-there is nothing “mental recession” about this. We are not making up the cost of gas and food homie, and the Europeans are eating this ish up, coming here (on flights they can afford ‘cuz we can’t because of fuel) with their powerful Euro and buying houses we can no longer afford, and eating in restaurants we cannot afford to eat in or even get to because of these same gas prices and food that you claim we’re merely imagining. Get a clue homeboy, get a clue…

  28. Aunt Viv

    @The_Truth,

Real talk, this economic ish is scarier than even Khia the beast, and that’s saying something….

  29. NotoriousOne

It’s funny how Gramm’s comments are downplayed even though he has been an economic adviser to McCain’s presidential campaign since summer 2007. I would think that this comment would have more of an impact than the personal comments made by Rev. Wright. Just goes to show the double standard in this white man’s world!

    YES WE CAN!!

    OBAMA ‘08 & ‘12

  30. liberated

CO SIGN %100 WITH MAN I DON’T CARE…..Peeps are worried about what Khia is doin, we need to be worried about our economy. I’m damn near scared to spend money, hell I’m thinking about going back natural just to save money. Going vegetarian to save money(and stay healthy) Buying a bike to save money. And making all my own damn clothes too! This thang is crucial, and getting worse by the second.

  31. Irie

there have been much worser economic conditions in this country, notably under jimmy carter’s presidency; stagflation, double-digit inflation, very high interest rates (21.5% the highest under any US president) with Carter telling people not to take unnecessary trips for the nation’s security to save energy. I’m tired of the word recession being floated around, the US economy is still growing albeit slowly. A recession is defined as two consecutive quarters of negative growth, the US economy has not yet experienced this. Previous generations certainly have had it worse than ours. People are hungry the world over and we get *****ed when we can’t afford to get an iphone.

  32. *****es Please

    ITZ DADDY NICCA:

Phil Gramm is an economic advisor to McSame and helped write the economic policy McSame keeps preaching (free-market, trickle-down economics – reducing the tax rate on the rich and corporations to spur the growth). While Gramm may not speak for him, Gramm produced most of the ***** McSame speaks concerning the economy.

  33. *****es Please

    Irie:

If it was about an IPhone, I’d agree. Unfortunately, gas, healthcare, groceries and utilities are basic needs. Wages have not kept up w/ the rate of inflation. Whether you call it a recession or not (I don’t), I’m know i’m not better off than I was 5 years ago.

  34. *****es Please

    AMEN

  35. NotoriousOne

    Irie…

“there have been much worser economic conditions in this country, notably under jimmy carter’s presidency”

And I agree w/ you…I’m not sure how old you are but admittedly, most of us probably didn’t feel the full impact of the Carter presidency. Now w/ kids, mortgages and our own bills it’s a completely different situation. Also, it’s not just that the economy is on a downturn, it’s the fact that it’s on a downturn as a direct result of the actions instituted by this President.

  36. NotoriousOne

    @ *****es Please…

“free-market, trickle-down economics – reducing the tax rate on the rich and corporations to spur the growth”

This is EXACTLY what we need to get ourselves educated on because the Republicans keep preaching this bullsh*t and it only benefits the rich and well off. It’s the same policies that Reagan instituted and you see who highly regarded he is; when in fact that fugger did NOTHING for the middle cl***** or the poor.

  37. maddzzu ( Still *****ed for not being in Ebonys 25 Coolest niccaz)

McCains pic looks like a fried up lizard.

  38. Lou in the Chi

The economy is just fine if you’re rich. I mean I can’t believe the way their promoting this $300 iphone. I wanna know where these people work that can afford to buy one now. I hope their hiring cause I’m coming to apply.

  39. always knew

The pics say it all. How can anyone in their riht mind, vote for mccain. He looks like the crypt keeper from tales of the crypt. All he is interested in is war. check out the keating 5 scandal. He is crooked, to say the least. Last senator, to go against a national holiday for Martin Luther King, Jr. What else do you need to know? This man is the worst thing the republican machine ever spit out. VOTE BARACK OBAMA!!!!!

  40. Irie

Free market economics is what is basically keeping this country running at this moment in time i.e. Our exports. If we decided to take up protectionist measures, there would be retaliatory by other countries and it ends up being a lose-lose situation. I don’t care what anyone says NAFTA has created so many jobs and has helped the US economy enormously. Taxing corporations will not help anyone, if you want to take a look at economies that have done tremendously well over the past decades it has been coutries with a low-tax regime, with very low corporation tax i.e. Ireland. High taxes are invariably p*****ed on to the consumer, and in any other cased leads to an exodus of corporations to countries such as India

  41. I'm Just Me (I AIN'T WITH REDBONE N*GGAS)

MCCAIN IS GOING DOWN!! THAT IS WHAT THOSE RICH, OIL TYCOON, SNUBBED NOSE REPUBLICANS THINK…RATHER THAN DISTANCE YOURSELF FROM THE STATEMENT, SPEAK OUT AGAINST IT.

    HO SIT DOWN!!

  42. NotoriousOne

    @ Irie…

And I agree w/ you in some aspects. But you have to look at the whole picture. Other corporate entities (in Ireland) also don’t have the wasteful spending and the abusive pay rates for executives that America has. If not high taxes then other costs would be p*****ed to the consumer so that the corporate elite can subsidies their OWN pockets. Henceforth the bevy of scandals that have rocked the American corporate landscape, Enron, WorldCom, Bear Sterns. And the exodus of American companies to India has as much to do w/ increasing corporate profits (again, for the wealthy corporate directors) as much as it does w/ tax increases.

  43. C’mon people ! you’all blowing hot air coz you couldnt afford the new iphone or the fake bentley (chrysler 300m) or that 60′ HDTV while still living with moms or in the project !

Even if oohbama gets elected the price of gas will not go down unless we drill in our own proven reserves. If anything he will raise your taxes to pay for entitlement programs that are the biggest source of the dysfunction in the black race.

  44. The_Truth

    WAKE UP PEOPLE!

Demand is what gave other countries the right to have us by the NUTS. . .decreasing demand is the answer. Drilling is like putting a cold rag on a wound. . .Obama understands that.

  45. tscombo

All Republicans are bad, LOL. Obama is a politician just like the rest. Don’t get it twisted.

  46. WhatsYoursIsMine

You know, not every Republican agrees with McCain, just like not every Democrat will agree with Barack. The issue is we need to elect people (regardless of party) that will at least represent our issues.

With our population growing and people having to move outside of cities into suburbs, this is what’s causing us to drive more and use more gas. We just need to grow with our demand.

And unfortunately, recessions are a part of life. I do somewhat agree with Senator Gramm that our mentality is out of whack, but come on, we have to work ourselves out of it. That means being proactive and electing the leader we fell best represents our country!

    OBAMA IN ‘08!!!!!

My point exactly. McSame’s whole set of economic policies are not geared to help the middle and lower cl*****es. People need to pay attention and learn the truth. Economics is not just the ***** they taught in high school about supply and demand. It’s the ***** that determines whether you can afford to live decently or not.

@ Its Daddy *****s: Thats the funniest gravatar EVER. I laughed at that for like 15 minutes before I could even post. I have one that is killa. I got it off the smoking gun mugshots but I dont know how to put one up…

@Bossip: Love when you post these stories too. Its only so many Beyonce cracks, Little Wayne idiocies and Where is Kim Porter? obviouscies a person can take. Don’t stop doing that Bossip because you know thats the only NEWS some of us get. I check Drudgereport (to see what the neo*****s are up to), atimes.com (because that’s actual reporting) and then Bossip (because the message boards are hilarious and y’all post ***** I like to read about in addition to Beyonce cracks, Kim Porter getting played out, Lil’ Wayne getting high and Rhianna looking ugly. Never mind the Hi Haters, the politics and social commentary are the best topics on here.

@Everybody talking about Sen. Gramm has a point. Ooookay… Can you tell me where you live so I can move there? My husband is a lawyer and an adjunct professor. I left my job to have my twins and can’t get a new one. A gallon of oil is $10.99. Rice is $19.99 for the 20lb bag and chicken ***** are $4.99/lb. In the hood. A can of soy formula is $5.79. Gallon of water to mix it with is $1.99. Gas in NYC is $4.89 a gallon for the 91 octane. To buy groceries alone is $300+ a week for us, if I shop smart and skip all the organic *****. You crazy? I know its real vogue to be Black and Republican but a McCain presidency will super suck and we will all be eating dry pet food. Store branded dry pet food.

And remember when this decrepit ***** said the reason jobs are being outsourced is because Americans won’t work for $50 an hour? That’s real crazy and if you dont think that he really meant that *****, I wish there was a way he could just be YOUR president.

  51. Lady elle

we have more of awakening once the prices for fruit, corn, wheat, rice, milk (if you drink it) soy and anything that is made with these products.

The floods in the midwest will really affect the pockets even more.

it’s really time for us to get economy smart and see what works for our families and our pockets.we have to stop the silly spending. and invest in our futures.

  52. @ always knew : Remember talk is cheap buddy ! stop typing too much hatred and insults coz they are not the solution. We as a community need to wake up and stop waiting for the govt to solve our problems. >66% of black children are born out of wedlock. That has,is and will remain te biggest hindrance to our progress ! and BO aint about to solve nada ! get an education or atleast a job and keep it, dont mess with your credit and marry your kids dad/mom .Peace and have a nice weekend to y’all

    @AFIYA

You got me laughing!!! I cosign on that all day long, and after he finishes paying your eletric bill and filling up your tank he can go buy me some steady rising groceries, fill up my tank, help pay for my cl*****es and kiss my ***** too.

  55. ~olga~

The republicans history have not been in the lines of helping the needy, the poor, nor the humbled m*****es, but that of keeping their party excluded to the people of color, and for themselves. However, I noticed that in some years of late, they have worked their propaganda machine to select and target people of color, bringing them into their fold in order to lure, sway, & manipulate people into thinking that after all their years of excluding us that we are now all of a sudden accepted..well people some people have jumped ship again; so to speak, and now alot of our people call themselves republicans…those that fail to recognize history are doomed to repeat it, get the hood off your wink folks. You are all just props, tokens, and puppets. They have come from something they label as “old money”, but to my knowledge & history, old money was obtained through ill begotten means aka via criminal activity, or off the backs of others slave labor…so old money is not so innocent. ~olga~

  56. NotoriousOne

    @ PIC*****O…

“Even if oohbama gets elected the price of gas will not go down unless we drill in our own proven reserves.”

I agree w/ some of your logic but on your contention that we need to drill in our own reserves, I’m going to hafta disagree w/ you on that one. Economists have already stated that offs***** drilling will NOT alleviate the current gas price situation. It is estimated that it would take at least a decade for the U.S. to prosper from any successful offs***** drilling.

Make no mistake about it, the push to open up offs***** drilling has everything to do w/ companies lobbying the President so that they can benefit from the billions of dollars in contracts that would be awarded to the drilling companies. Basically in the same way that Halliburton and defense contractor CEOs lobbied Cheney so that he could push Bush to declare war on Iraq. You would see multi billion dollars contracts being awarded w/ a NO-BID process, a sure sign that some shadiness is going on.

  57. NotoriousOne

    “I LOVE reading you…”

As a political science major undergrad you kinda get a feel for the inner workings of our political system and it’s amazing at the ish you find out that’s going on that the media never really puts on print.

But I’m glad someone enjoys my soliloquy.

  58. shaahn

McCain looks like a turkey. he’s just plain ugly

  59. Lady elle

actually The Republican Party was created in 1854 in opposition to the Kansas-Nebraska Act that would have allowed the expansion of slavery into Kansas. The Republican activists denounced the act as proof of the power of the Slave Power—the powerful cl***** of southern slaveholders who were conspiring to control the federal government and to spread slavery nationwide. The name “Republican” gained such favor in 1854 because “republicanism” was the paramount political value the new party meant to uphold. The party founders adopted the name “Republican” to indicate it was the carrier of “republican” beliefs about civic virtue, and opposition to aristocracy and corruption. The name had been in previous use by Jeffersonians, Jacksonians, and nationalists.

  60. Lady elle

I like when bossipers have discussions like this.

  61. @notorious one.

You make some sense and its good to see someone arguing on points and not just name calling and swearing instead of focusing on the issue on hand.

I still believe that we need to drill our own reserves.Do you know that china and other countries have rights from Castro to drill off the cuban coast ? and to all of us who went to school we all know how far that is from florida .Why then cant we drill off the gulf coast ourselves.Brazil not too long ago discovered HUGE reserves off their coast and will drill.

Its sad when you see people blaming the high price of fuel on POTUS ! Bet you this folks dont know nada about OPEC, the growing economies of India, China and others or of the decrease in value of the US dollar !

  62. BG

“Phil Gramm is an economic advisor to McSame and helped write the economic policy McSame keeps preaching (free-market, trickle-down economics – reducing the tax rate on the rich and corporations to spur the growth). The thing many of you don’t realize is that a president has ADVISORS who tell him what to do, especially if your dumb, like Bush, or old and forgetful like Mccaine…. THE REAL PEOPLE THAT WILL BE RUNNING THE COUNTRY ARE PEOPLE LIKE GRAMM & CHENEY… THEY ARE OIL MONGERS… he’s from Texas just like BUSH!!!! thats why they try to halt research for alternative energy… so we can be oil slaves……

If you want to be a slave, vote for mccainbuschenygramm—thats what you will get!!!

Illuminati want my mind soul and body!

  63. NotoriousOne

    @ PIC*****O…

Again, I agree w/ you in some sense but I would just says to put some safeguards in place so that the process is a fair one. That drillin’ companies don’t grow richer off gov’t contracts and we find out in the end that it was an exercise in futility.

I just find it disheartening that w/ the whole situation in Iraq, Halliburton & such stand to make BILLIONS of dollars and what does the U.S. have to show for the war in Iraq?

You’re right, OPEC is a major factor in the increasing gas prices but I think some of the presidential blame comes as a result of Bush’s “cowboy” attitude w/ the world. Whereas Clinton was more affable and well liked, which I do believe has an impact on the actions of the leading OPEC nations when it comes to oil production.

  64. Lady elle

twelve states made up of Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Libya, Algeria, Nigeria, Angola, Venezuela and Ecuador. Recently, Indonesia has decided to leave the organization, a move which was completed in May 2008.

On November 19, 2007, global oil prices reacted strongly as OPEC members spoke openly about potentially converting their cash reserves to the euro and away from the US dollar.

This was the real reason for invading Iraq.

  65. NotoriousOne

    @ Lady elle…

The best laid plans of mice & men…because in the end the U.S. will be forced to walk away from Iraq w/out a lick of oil to show for our efforts.

  66. @ notorious one…..

I also agree with you on some points but i still think that if we decided to drill on our reserves the speculation factor in the price of the crude futures would be wiped out and God knows how much it constitutes of the $140+/bl.

Unfotunately the moonbats will not let us drill offs***** or in Anwar on the size of fields the size of DFW airport compared to the size of the entire state of Texas .

  67. Lady elle

    @ notorious one

    you are so right.

  68. It’s called that because gas literally squeaks when you walk on it. And it is more for India and Reagan. It was good, I even had cheesy nibblets! India was fabulous and I did have to resist buying a $ 25 bottle of it.

  69. NotoriousOne

    @ PIC*****O…

Well the other factor is that drilling for crude oil is one thing but they also say that there’s a lack of refineries to process the crude oil. I do think that Congress will eventually concede and agree to allow the drilling w/ some heavy provisions.

  70. NotoriousOne

    @ Lady elle…

I would have been 100% supportive of Bush if he would have been upfront w/ the American people and said that part of the reason we’re invading Iraq is to also benefit from their oil fields. But when you try to p***** the invasion off as halting the production of WMD or to “liberate” the Iraqi people, I have issues!

Now the U.N. and the “liberated” Iraqi people are taking us to task and asking us to get the fugg out…”empty-handed”

  74. WhatsYoursIsMine

    @NYC Chic-

I don’t agree with everything Phil Gramm said. I do believe that mentally, we are in a bad state, but I do understand that our current econonmy isn’t helping that. I just want more people to do something about it, like voting and becoming more involved in the political process.

I believe that if more Americans were to get involved, we might not have been in as bad a position as we are now. And I live in Texas, not everything here is as expensive as in New York. I have family in and around NYC, and I don’t see how you all do it.

And I spent a few months in Amsterdam, and a month in England. I don’t see how people can live there with such expensive gas prices, so I can only imagine heating oil being insanely priced. They have a strong dollar (compared to America) because they’re used to higher prices. They also have high income taxes, but those help to cover national healthcare. I’m hoping that over the next few Presidents, we can adopt some policies from other countries that will also benefit the people.

  75. me

What’s even more funny is you think your man obama is going to somehow pull out his magic wand and fix all that is out of place in your life.. ugh..

that kind of thinking is going to get America in trouble…

i read one man say this.. would you want a medical student to operate on you, or a board certified physician..

That is the PERFECT *****ogy… Obama, been a senator for what, 3 years.. 2 of those years dealing with campaign… tell me how that qualifies anyone to run the greatest country in the world… IT DOESN”T..

    McCain, a senator for 25 years.. 25 YEARS…

I see that most of you just think obama will “LEARN” on the job huh.. well ***** that.. learn somewhere, than come and run for pres..

There are only 2 reasons anyone would vote for obama.. they are either black, or they are looking for a handout from all the social programs he’ll introduce, that Americans will have to pay for..

    McCain 08

  76. Lady elle

    @ NOTORIOUS

That I believe is the reason why the adminstration led us in the direction of WMD. The U.N. or The American People wasn’t backing a war for the need of oil. Ironically the U.N didn’t back the invasion anyway and U.S. still went ahead. nor has the oil situation gotten better. the leveling field is weighted toward everyone else accept U.S. wow

Well I can tell you from experience that the NYC is definitely getting to be for the elite. The middle cl***** and the poor are getting pushed further and further away from the city. But the NYC being the financial capital of the States will always ensure that the economy stays on a revolving basis.

what’s funny is that black people in this country make up 17% of the population, obviously other people are voting for barack besides black people.

truth be told I don’t like either canidate for various reasons. but i will say this for anyone who doesn’t beileve how bad the dollar is dropping note that our dollar is worth the same as the canadian dollar.

we may not be in a full out recession: the state of the economy declines; a widespread decline in the GDP and employment and trade lasting from six months to a year. but to believe we’re not headed there is blinding.

    @ me…

“What’s even more funny is you think your man obama is going to somehow pull out his magic wand and fix all that is out of place in your life.”

I can’t generalize on what everyone is expecting from Obama, but I for one a) don’t expect him to pull out his magic wand. What I do want is a DIFFERENT perspective, a fresh approach. And simply put, that’s what he’s offering. No presidential candidate will ever promise that he’s going to magically fix the economy. At most they’ll promise to work in conjunction w/ the other government bodies to get us on a better track.

Obviously Bush’s failed policies are NOT yielding results and yet McCain has strongly supported many of Bush’s measures…even though he now tries to distance himself from Bush as much as he can.

As for your contention on the experience front, a Senator and POTUS…apples and oranges, the fact of the matter is, EVERY President learns on the job. McCain’s 25 years in the Senate means that he’s going to bring the same Washington ideology into the White House…which is exactly what America is looking to get away from.

“truth be told I don’t like either canidate for various reasons.”

And I can understand that train of thought. A politician is a politician. There are hidden agendas that they will comply w/ regardless of the benefits or detriments to the American public. In the end it does become a choice of the lesser of two evils.

I know just what you’re saying but that for me has always been a scary mindset. For me this election is like no other because of the various turning points this country faces. what has worked in the past isn’t working anymore in most arenas for the U.S. so with that mindset I believe is why people are looking for a change.

“For me this election is like no other because of the various turning points this country faces.”

And I feel that a lot of people share your sentiments. Which is why we as black people need to start emphasizing the need for education above the bling and the flash. On an individual level we do need to prioritize and that will at least keep you competitive in this progressive market.

It has definitely been a pleasure and hope everyone enjoys their weekend.

MCCAIN IN ‘08! YES WE CAN!

Gramm is correct – The people in the richest nation on earth, and in history, us, act like they are beggars in India when gas prices go up. We still live like kings compared to most of the world, but we whine louder than them anyways.

‘the Europeans are eating this ish up, coming here…with their powerful Euro and buying houses we can no longer afford’

Your comment hit home. I hadn’t thought of those consequences. I know you mentioned the Europeans but that got me to thinking about the Asians who have made alot of money off black folks: nail salons, beauty care stores etc. We are about to get owned.

Well if Obama and the democrats would vte to drill for oil…the economic situationi snot as bad as media makes it out to be. it is not al roses, but not hell on earth. Regarding the mortgage fiasco, perhaps if dumb *****es did not sign for loans they could not afford and idiots didn’t give out loans that they knew people could not afford, we’d be better off.

First off, I am a republican, but this election, it will be different. I am voting Democratic. I don’t like the conservatives this time. Mccain was a bad bet, even if he does win, it’ll be nothing but more war. He’s not diplomatic enough and just because he fought in the war, doesn’t necesarily mean he should be president…Keating 5 , other scandals… And the fact that Mccain is not conservative enough. Don’t like him on immigration, same tax plan doesn’t bother me, but I don’t believe he would be respected overseas, Barack would do very well in this dept. Barack is much better, regarding creating new green jobs, I don;t agree with the higher tax bracket for over $250K but that’s ok, I can adjust, more write-offs. I don’t agree with his immigration policy, either, or the Spanish speaking requirement, he was speaking of. When you are in Rome, you do as the Romans do, you come here, speak ENGLISH!! Kind of hoping that enough issue(s) based people give him a chance, with all the rhetoric.. VOTE OBAMA!!!

@luvchild, I agree with you, we don;t own enough. Too separated to have any real power, collectively, but every other nationality backs each other. China is getting ready to become a world superpower, teaming up with Russia and the Middle East. If we don;t get our act together, we will remain at the bottom….Every country is getting stronger but we are getting weaker and weaker….

geez we are a bunch of whiners….i am american but live in canada…i pay over 6$ a gallon for my gas….and trust me my groceries are worse…5$ for a GALLON of milk in some places…4$ for a loaf of bread….so pls….i dont have a mortgage crisis b/c i will NEVER be able to afford a house here…half mil for a piece of crap and you cant even call U S of A home….so really stop ur whining…..its way worse in the UK

PIC*****O wrote, “Even if oohbama gets elected the price of gas will not go down unless we drill in our own proven reserves.”

I see you drank the ‘domestic drilling’ kool-aid. The problem is not drilling, it’s refining. Our refining capacities have gone DOWN, and Mister Man Bill Clinton was part of the problem — and Bush and his cronies severely exasperated the problem.

These people are not advocating domestic drilling to save us money at the pump, they’re doing it to make more money. Spit that kool-aid out, man. I’m going with Teddy Roosevelt on the preservation tip on this one.

Most of us on this site are not Republicans because it’s “en vogue” to be a Republican. They have just as much dirt under their nails as Democrats. I became a Republican because of the following reasons:

I am a business woman. I am not for welfare at all. I am not for public programs to solve problems, I am for smaller government. Democrats are for the people? Back in the day, the most racist party used to be Democrat. The previous elections, we used to just vote for whoever, but they were never serious about helping solve collective issues. I never voted for Bush. He was too stupid. The main reason = the tax cuts. Me and plenty of my friends, other business partners, benefitted plenty from the tax cuts and also the ability to get more done without the red tape. I have all sorts of different contracts and ventures going. I still think that Democrats are for hand-outs. When I was in business cl***** almost 8 years ago, most of the people that werein the cl***** were 15-30 years older than myself. I got free insights on how to prepare for the future, so I wouldn’t get caught with my pants down oe eating pet food. A good Education, strong will, perserverance and good banking relationships, will lead you right out of poverty, if you so choose. Too many people are struggling, but not willing to change the way they think or act. This has everything to do with how you end up. You need investments, real estate–you can get really good deals right now, service companies are good also, for making large amounts quickly (within 3-5 years) and also supplying government entities with supplies and services. Just because I happen to be African-American, that alone does not define me. Labels don’t bother me either, I am quites used to being the odd woman out. That’s part of the reason for my success. Not letting other people determine how far I climb. Wherever you end up, my friend, is completely up to you…….I come here (this site) for the entertainment to laugh, that’s primarily it…

  94. I guess Q-Tip head (McCain) and his mental @$$hole of a friend Gramm can say that with millions of dollars in the bank…mental recession? WTF???
