I am a business woman. I am not for welfare at all. I am not for public programs to solve problems, I am for smaller government. Democrats are for the people? Back in the day, the most racist party used to be Democrat. The previous elections, we used to just vote for whoever, but they were never serious about helping solve collective issues. I never voted for Bush. He was too stupid. The main reason = the tax cuts. Me and plenty of my friends, other business partners, benefitted plenty from the tax cuts and also the ability to get more done without the red tape. I have all sorts of different contracts and ventures going. I still think that Democrats are for hand-outs. When I was in business class almost 8 years ago, most of the people that werein the class were 15-30 years older than myself. I got free insights on how to prepare for the future, so I wouldn’t get caught with my pants down oe eating pet food. A good Education, strong will,perserverance and good banking relationships, will lead you right out of poverty, if you so choose. Too many people are struggling, but not willing to change the way they think or act. This has everything to do with how you end up. You need investments, real estate–you can get really good deals right now, service companies are good also, for making large amounts quickly (within 3-5 years) and also supplying government entities with supplies and services. Just because I happen to be African-American, that alone does not define me. Labels don’t bother me either, I am quites used to being the odd woman out. That’s part of the reason for my success. Not letting other people determine how far I climb. Wherever you end up, my friend, is completely up to you…….I come here (this site) for the entertainment to laugh, that’s primarily it…

I see you drank the ‘domestic drilling’ kool-aid. The problem is not drilling, it’s refining. Our refining capacities have gone DOWN, and Mister Man Bill Clinton was part of the problem — and Bush and his cronies severely exasperated the problem.

These people are not advocating domestic drilling to save us money at the pump, they’re doing it to make more money. Spit that kool-aid out, man. I’m going with Teddy Roosevelt on the preservation tip on this one.

Your comment hit home. I hadn’t thought of those consequences. I know you mentioned the Europeans but that got me to thinking about the Asians who have made alot of money off black folks: nail salons, beauty care stores etc. We are about to get owned.

And I feel that a lot of people share your sentiments. Which is why we as black people need to start emphasizing the need for education above the bling and the flash. On an individual level we do need to prioritize and that will at least keep you competitive in this progressive market.
