Nas is on the cover of YRB Magazine’s Politics issue where he talks about his new album and hopes for the future election.
In other Nas related news, he was recently reported as saying that having a jazz musician for a dad definitely had its’ benefits while growing up.

9? Shyte, I had my first when I was 6. But then again, I’m from a country where we write songs such as “Rum Till I Die” and “Rum Is My Lover.” West Indian people stand up!!
I was surprised to see his profile on ” C a s u a l S e e k . C o m ” which is a dating site for short-time relationship seeker. He is welcome on that site.
Auntie…..
A victim hunh?
Cage….
Yeah…harsh indeed.
~*Damn Nas is sexy, The Name Nasir is sexier!!!*~
@Nikki I confess about the Lives***** blunder on the 106 & Park post, but not again today so I guess my time on this Nas post will be limited
i wouldnt pull that ***** till my kid is twice that age. kids these days dont know about balance, moderation, or priorities….but that would be some cool father son trips to Amsterdam tho
That’s his story let him tell it. I personally would not give my child pot but, nas came out a HERO go cop the album JULY 15 everybody.
@~*MahoganyGyrl*~
YES YES YES YES YES….I CONCUR!!!!
i refused to click on links of lives*****. blow on these dice bossip!
Why was there like 3 lives***** links in all of this. This is crazy. I mean it is what it is with Nas. He makes crazy on point music.
In our communities has the standard for having a father being lowered this much that we are beginning too think as long as the father shows up every now and then it’s all good. This man gave a child drugs that is not good on so many levels.
Please let’s raise our standards up in our communities for everything. That man is not a role model.
Someone should have called CPS on his *****
I know he will start getting talked down upon for that comment but Nas is a very intelligent young man so him being honest about some weed isnt that serious to me. Look up the true reason why weed was made illegal and lets talk. Alot of people got dads that are molestors so this is trivial….
@BRIA
You are right about that, that’s not a good look or start for any child….I knoe everyone loves Nas, not me. That album N**ga-(which I never heard or bought” was too vulgar for my taste. I have children- 2 boys and I don’t ever want them listening to those kinds or artists. If you can even call him an artist….More like on point Minstrel show…
spelling error- know
Mmmm he could so get it!!!
How come no one wants click on the lives***** links, what’s wrong with it?
ok, i so thought this was going to be an article from ‘high times’, you know the weed-mag..but Bossip tried to get me on LIVES*****!..I WILL NOT GO THERE!
NO ONE CARES ABOUT NAS! SOULJA BOY WOULD KILL HIS OLD ***** IN A RAP BATTLE!
You people are crazy!!! I would NEVER UNDER ANY CIR*****STANCES, give MY CHILD, DRUGS OR ALCOHOL?? What parent that actually loves their seed, would do some ignorant shi- like that? People get it together. Could that possibly be the reason that so many marriages end up in divorce? Craziness!!!! Then wonder why the kids can’t learn or go to schhol and become something. They are too caught up on the drugs, you gave them……….That’s pretty deep, you hate yourself so much that you even try to take opportunity away from your child, by getting them mixed up in drugs? Where do they go after they get locked up? Can’t get no decent job? Can’t go to school? Can’t graduate? Go ahead, keep smoking! Just remember, that you reap what you sow….
spelling error-school
some dad…
anybody know where Nas is performing tomorrow in NYC for free??! pls email me at hidden.beach@yahoo.com if u know.
I can’t speak on Nas’ behalf, but let’s just say BITD when folks grew their OWN weed, it was pretty commonplace to let the kids get a hit, not fully aware of the damage it can do. Folks just saw it as ‘herbs’…had it growing in the middle of a thicket of ferns and other plant life, living room lookin’ like a rainforest n’ sh*t, high as a kite tryna climb the french doors…
WHAT’S WIFEY MILKSHAKE DOIN’ NOWADAYS…MY BAD IS SHE EVEN RELEVANT ANYMORE?
@bree
“ok, i so thought this was going to be an article from ‘high times’, you know the weed-mag..but Bossip tried to get me on LIVES*****!..I WILL NOT GO THERE!”
*Dave Chappelle voice*
Got’cha *****.
LMFAO!!!! No disrespect bree, I’m just playing w/ ya.
“He’d be in the house smoking weed. He gave me weed when I was, like, nine years old. That was cool,” the controversial rapper says.
“(We’d) listen to music, talk, watch TV. I’d bug him for a hit, and on a few occasions he let me hit it.”
And he wants to be our next spokesperson/Black Leader. No Sir! Some things you need to keep to yourself. Nas sweety, you need more people before you take over the reigns.
@Finesse: LOL! The first time my parents got me drunk, I had to be like five. Remember “apple juice”? lol.
There’s some kind of liquor thats real heavy and mixed with condensed milk. They give it to you in a shot gl*****. All the kids at the party would have one shot gl***** and lick it all party long. I have pictures of me and my cousins laughing and giggling, counting the stars in each other’s eyes. The good old day for real! My kids would’ve loved the ***** out of that but poor them, its a different time…
“It will be planted on the high mountain of Israel: it will put out branches and have fruit and be a fair cedar: under it all birds of every sort will make their living-place, resting in the shade of its branches.” (Ezekiel, 17, 23)
Well some of this has to do with the era that this was happening in and what adults thought about marijuana back then. He probably built character in the boy by exposing him to things and letting him come to his own judgement about whether he would or would not partake. That may be disastrous for some, but it worked for Nas. I remember my mother would let us swig on her Heineken once she got down to a sip or two. We also had our share of Bartles & James and Calvin Coolers…. We knew better than to do it without permission and we also knew better than to take more than a sip. Of nine siblings raised with the same Heineken drinking mom, only 2 drink alcohol- and socially at that; my sister and I… Nas’ father obviously did more than light up with the boy- he educated and guided him. There’s more than one way to skin a cat…
