I am a big proponent of marriage. However, I must state that marriage was not created by God but rather by men. Traditionally, marriage tied the woman to the man, severing her right to seek out her own relationships. The woman used to have to kneel before her husband while saying the vows. At times, she could be married without her consent, even without her presence. It was about control and about “knowing” who the father of the kids was.

I’m not talking pagan marriages, but the ancient Christian marriages.

The problem that people on this board seems to be having is that Badu is black, unmarried, and not cowering in front of the m*****es. What’s been pointed out and what people fail to understand is that this is a family people, not a black/white one. Other ethnicities have the same issue, they just cover it up with marriage. And even still, if a person marries for a 3rd time, is she not supposed to have a child with her husband if that’s what they both want? Get real. What little girl (black or white or anything in between) dreams of having multiple children by multiple men? But it’s now reality.

The best way to seal with it is to teach our girls how to be women and our boys how to be men. But too many of you are leaving the mother to teach everything. A girl also learns how to be a woman by how her daddy treats her, not just from watching her momma. A boy learns how to be a man by how his daddy treats his momma. Answer: daddies are important. So women choose wisely.

Our ancestors sought out marriage as one of their first declarations of independence after suffering bondage in America. This present generation has taken us lower than the animals.

A Queen, a Sacred woman, please you are a singer nothing more nothing less. And you whoring around is no different than some chick from the street doing the same. If you did not care what people thought you would not rant and rave about it. So what if you are still friends with your baby daddies. That is saying less than nothing. You also say your children are happy and well adjusted. Your children are only exposed to your madness they have nothing to compare it with so of course they are content.

The worst part is all you idiots who are trying to justify this behavior. Look at all our children, young girls who are screwing around making babies. It is not enough to “be able to financially take care of your children”. Money is not the end all and be all for raising healthy children. As the mother, YOU are the first teacher and example of womanhood. You are the Mother of civilization whether you want to be or not. If you behave uncivilized what can you expect from the next generation?

There is a reason that there arent anny laws for having kids out of wedlock or having more than one baby daddy, it doesnt hurt annyone else laws are there to protect us from eachother and from the government.

Youre right without laws we would be roaming wild, but theres a reason that there arent laws for every single aspect of your life, theyre limited to protection and reggulation thats because we are individuals and have the right to live the way we want!

So since theres no law against what badu is doing its a moral isue that means we can differ on the topic she chooses to live that way, I wouldnt but she has the right to, I’m just saying the world would be a happier place if we chose to respect eachother in the choices we make ***** long as it doesnt harm others.
