A judge has ruled in favor of No Cent – this time:
Rapper 50 Cent can keep using his lawyer Brett Kimmel after beating a bid from ex-girlfriend Shaniqua Tompkins to have him thrown off the case. Tompkins – who the star is battling over a home he owns, and she lived in until it was burned down earlier this year – claimed Kimmel had a conflict of interest, because she attempted to hire him to represent her during her child support battle with 50 Cent three years ago.
But Kimmel and the rapper – who has an eleven year old son, Marquis, with Tompkins – successfully argued the two cases are unrelated and that Kimmel never had an attorney-client relationship with her. New York judge Carol Edmead has thrown out the bid. 50 Cent is attempting to overturn a court decision to freeze insurance money on the New York house.
Unlike the Simmons’, this is one couple who doesn’t seem to mind exposing their son to the full brunt of their insanity. Bugsy ought to break Shaniqua off properly and cease with all this damned drama already.
Update: According to OK Magazine No Cents is trying to get custody of young Marquis:
“I’m going to try and get him when I go to court on the 17th,” he [said]. “I’ll see if I can get him.”

A Long Island judge granted [50] an unrestricted visit from August 3-12 with Marquise, his son with Shaniqua Tompkins. We’re told that both parties had to submit to drug tests at the courthouse before the judge would talk visits, and 50 was clean. Shaniqua tested positive … for cough meds.
Our spies tell us that Shaniqua claimed in court that 50 is keeping her from using her Land Rover SUV by keeping guards at the site of the house that was engulfed by flames last month. He denies that’s the case. Baby mama drama continues on September 15.

I agree with you, BUT Marquise and Shaniqua DID have a roof over their heads until it got burned down and she is also getting a 4500 a month HOUSING allowance. Now if 50 is paying for their sons tuition and clothes in ADDITION to child support and giving her a 4500 a month houseing allowance, and she can’t find a nice condo for HER AND HER SON and her other child, she HAS bumped her head!!! That restraining order did not restrict 50 from seeing or contacting Marquise. The restraining order said he could not come onto the property but he could pick Marquise up at the curb as well as call him.
I think she can find a respectable rental for 4500 a month.
I doubt if the kid i8s eating up the remaining 2200 in food.
The simple fact is 50 tried to have her live a life simililar to his but if you have 5 other people other than you and my son in the house I think you need a smaller place and the court agreed.

2200 is for more than food. She has to keep the lights and water on, buy clothes for a growing boy, along with any other necessities.
If there were 5 other people living there full time then 50 should have gone to court to have the 5 other people removed IF there were other peopel besides Shaniqua and her 2 kids living there.

Don’t give anymore then you have to 50. There are a lot of men that deal with women like her but don’t have the income for a long drawn out battle.
If she had “a bunch of people living up in the house that shouldn’t have been there”, then 50 should’ve gone to court to have THEM evicted–not the mother of your child, knowing that leaves your CHILD without a roof over his head.
@COOP, a long drawn out battle is exactly what this is–and the very reason he needs to stop the madness. You also touched on another great point: a lot of men (and women) deal with similar situations. And that’s the reason people are quick to yell about what he or she should do. The truth is that your situations are NOT the same. The 25000 a month was granted in an emergency hearing until the judge could decide what 50 should be paying. The 25000 a month was never guaranteed to be a permanent arrangement.
She did not have to leave the house she was granted a stay until the litigation was settled. If the house had not burned she would still be in the house under the protection of a Supreme Court order. You call yourself a Real Woman, real women should know what they are talking about before they start condemning others.
