Melanie is what we caribbean’s refer to as ‘dougla’ a person of who is mixed with black and indian (african and east indian). There are many of us all throughout the caribbean, and some of us look more black than indian, or more indian than black, or right in between. It is not uncommon to see a woman who looks full black to have a head full of naturally long silky wavy/curly hair. There are many variations of dougla and they are all very unique and beautiful; as is Melanie. FYI That is all her hair.
