Gosh, I looked at BET practically since I was a young girl, and damn I turned out completely fine.No baby momma drama, nothing.Nothing negative over here.Since when are rappers/athletes are role models?Parents suppose to be role models. And if they not, blame them not the damn TV Box.Shit, Laila talking shit because most athletes pass off hoes more than hip hop and I know that for a fact.Parents do your damn job.Stop sending kids to school so the teacher can raise your kids.Niggas still going to be niggas.Bitches still going to be bitches. The world just isn't right without it.World would be much boring and nothing to live for.I guess Bet is responsible for deadbeat parents now?I be glad when the realization of you people that "niggas" "bitches" and "hoes" are not going away.Deal with it.None of this shit is going away so why don't we stop complaining. For once? The people make the choices and what the hell are going to tell what a grown person what to do.If they want to shake their ass all up in the video, let them do that.Tell your child to pick up a book than the remote, since it's sooooooooo easier to pick up the remote.

Laila DID NOT HATE. Bossip please dont stoop to the standards of MediaFAKEout!! She is speaking the TRUTH. She is saying what many black people (i.e. the opposite of "Niggas" and "Bitches") think. It has seeped eerily into into the cultural fabric of many black communities, and it's the most mainstream of acts, providing messages of violence, materialism, hatred, sexism and illiteracy. Very rarely will an artist like Common ever get sny play!

Keep in mind that deadbeat black parents who can't even look after themselves are making babies left, right and centre, and it doesn't seem to be slowing down. They are ultimately the root of the cause, while rappers are contribute unhealthily. Parents dont teach their children anything, so they're gonna turn to these equally uneducated rappers on BET or whatever, and will emulate them.

Well said, Laila.

@ Flawdagurl...ok... I remember when I would get un trobke and then go tell my mom well so and so did it...he response would be I'm not concerned about waht so and so did but what you did. He thing was you better be a leader and not a follower because you will be lead in the wrong direction if you allow someone else to lead you.

Parents need to be parents period and stop having people who don't even know their kids guide them. I fyou can't deal with raising a child then don't have them (birth control) it's as simple as that.

@Trimya

The black community is so scared to go against these rappers and athletes becuase they fell like a "sell out" but who's going to help our children of the future and guide them the right way if we don't clean up our act?

--------------------------------------------------

What's even funnier is that your constantly being told your either a sell out or soft by the very same people that are trying to sell you this garbage as well as by the people they've been able to influence. That's like a drug dealer baiting you to succumb to the peer pressure and at the same time emphasizing the so-called virtues of the merchandise simply because that's his job, to sell drugs.

"Come on man, don't tell me you one of them soft niggas. What, what you scared son. Yo I'm telling you son this shit'll get you lifted, for real. This the best shit out here ".

And if you don't or you question there method of obtaining money

"Soft Ass Nigga","Hater", "Why You Knockin' My Hustle Man".

These people know exactly what they're doing. A lot of these kids that listen to this garbage don't fully understand that Rap Music is part of a broader industry whose sole objective is to bring in revenue. So the heads of these companies, and it seems, most of these so-called artist are willing to do whatever it takes to bring the money in. A lot of them tell you up front they are just in it for the money and people still buy it.

"I'm Just Trying To Get That Money Man", "YO! Get That Money Kid".

Whenever you purchase any product you are not only supporting the supplier financially which is bad enough, but morally as well. You are saying to the world it's ok for whatever artist, company, or corporation to glorify violence, drug dealing, and the degradation of whatever community they happen to be so-called representing.

What would you do if went to a Walmart and two Walmart employees were outside in the parking lot selling crack to some little kids and you called the Head Office explained the situation and whoever was in charge told you they had no plans to do anything about it because it brings in more customers, and besides it's a situation for law enforcement to handle. That's the exact same situation we now have in the music industry. A bunch of low life motherfuckers who, with every chance they get want you to know how much of a killer they are/were, how much of a drug dealer they are/were, or how they robbed somebody and how soft everybody else is who isn't doing what they're doing/did. When most of the time what they're saying isn't even "REAL", which is even worse. Them and the ones who really do it or did it are just willing to sell out there own community to make things better for themselves. Ironically enough to get the "Hell Out" of the "HOOD". How many rappers are were they are because of what they've supposedly done are doing or simply because they were willing to put themselves on the line by disrespecting another rapper ahead of them. Whether it be true or not it doesn't require a Ph.D to realize it's only logical that someone else would see this as a viable means to achieve their own personal goals.

Are music companies going to do anything about it?

HELL NO, IT SELLS THE MERCHANDISE!

These so-called artist are the DEALERS and the music companies are the SUPPLIERS.

THESE ARE THE TRUE SELL OUTS !

Although what should ultimately be done is to determine why , what Sells, Sells. If you really want to get to the root of the problem.

Because believe me, if reciting nursery rhymes over a beat ever becomes the new thing, you are going to see a whole lot of reformed THUGS.

PEACE!
