When The Checks Stop Coming In

The Vickster has requested a delay in his bankruptcy hearing:
The suspended NFL star, appearing by teleconference in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Newport News on Thursday, said he needs more time to file lists of creditors. The 28-year-old also asked to appoint adviser David Talbot as the manager responsible for handling Vick’s affairs while the former Atlanta Falcon serves his time in prison. Court records show that Talbot has received payment so far in the form of a Mercedes-Benz given to him by Vick six weeks ago. A ruling on Vick’s motions is expected July 28.
Desperate times call for desperate measures. Poor thang.

I feel bad for Michael Vick, I hope he comes out of this strong and on top!

It’s funny how you will receive a ticket, have to pay fine, go to jail, and/or your dog be put down if the police see you with a pitbull that is not properly ‘restrained’, but all of a sudden they become poor innocent creatures that need to be protected when Mike Vick catches a case.

I agree with you on that statement! Two months ago my friends pit got out of the fence while he was at work, cops came, he ran back in the yard, cops lured him out of the yard and shot him. Witnesses told my friend that is exactly what happend…….Dayum shame!
You know I don’t like this mess they doing to Mike…what is wrong with having dog fights…are dogs just to sit and be pretty…some dogs are fighters…WHAT’S THE DAMN PROBLEM???

I really think that Michael Vick got a bad rap. I do believe that he should have been punished, but not to the extreme that he has been. It’s so sad that they stripped some people down to nothing. He had a family that he needs to support just like everyone else. Not only do they take all of his money and dignity, but they hurt his family (kids) also. Yes, he should be punish but should his kids be punished too? I hope he has learned a lesson from this. The rules are different(in certain situations) no matter how much money you have.

The whole thing was waaaay too extreme…the judicial system just made an example out of him. They could have made the brother pay a big fine…put him on probation for two or three years…and make him *****ist in REHABBING dogs for humane purposes such *****isting the blind, search/rescue missions and sniffing out drugs/weapons…also teaching CHILDREN how to care for their dogs…something to enforce that dogs have a purpose for something other than fighting to the death. He will be out and the same NFL that suspended him INDEFINITELY will be signing him again…it is all about the dollars.

his punishment was a bit extreme in my opinion, however, dogs WERE NOT created for fighting purposes and they do feel pain too, they dont just fight naturally, they are taught this just as we are.

take that 5 million put it into a high interest bearing account that pays at least 8% a year, that means you get at least $400,000 a year free.

So the bank really pays for your house, you pay nothing!

If your funds are invested in a tax sheltered account you will be taxed at the “Capital Gains Rate” (white people rate) if you pay cash on the $5mill you are taxed at “39%”(black people rate)…

Michael Vick was made an example out of! He did a crime, got caught, and is doing time. That is a fact. Consequences are his finances were cut off and he has to protect what he has. No matter how he has to. It’s a good move financially and however he has to pay for it is fine. He will come out of this and be the Quarterback for Greenbay!(smile)

I don’t feel bad for him at all. How sick can you be to find enjoyment and gratification in seeing a dog abused. And obviously some of y’all don’t know what really went down…. He trained those dogs to be aggressive, you can not give those dogs away to other people cause they cannot be retrained to be people friendly. He had a great opportunity( Even if he didn’t want to be one) to be a role model to younger boys and he abused his money an power to do foolish things. It’s thoughtless what he did, and I think he needs this repercussion. Somebody needs to reprimand him.
