- By Bossip Staff Categories: News, Twitter Files

This is what we like to see…black love long and strong!!!

Meet ‘America’s Tweethearts’ – the world’s longest married couple who are set to give away their secrets to a happy union on Valentine’s Day. Herbert and Zelmyra Fisher, who tied the knot a staggering 85 years ago, will answer the 14 best questions posed via micro-blogging site Twitter. The Guinness World Record holders, from North Carolina, US, exchanged vows back in 1924 and have five children, ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Despite their years, avid baseball fan Herbert, 104, and 102-year-old Zelmyra are happy to embrace modern technology to share their golden tips with younger generations. The one-off Twitter chat – organised by movie streaming site http://www.blinkbox.com – will take place live on February 14. Photo taken in 1949 on the couple’s 25th anniversary.

Wow, they really have these people who have been on this Earth for more than a century on Twitter. SMH.

    I love black love…
This is enough to make me want to join Twitter… Hope I can make it near as long as they have together! (now I’m all mushy inside… :))

Hopefully they will inspire people to be married and monogamous. Today some women would rather be a sidepiece to a married man instead of having him all to their self.

That is sooo sweet! God bless them…

…but if I need relationship advice I can always go to my parents who have been married 25+ years and are still going strong. I’ve never seen anything but love between them.

That’s pretty crazy that they’re up on Twitter. I’m not even on Twitter and I’m in my early twenties! I barely gave in to Facebook. Social networking sites kind of creep me out because I know that people stalk and are all up in other people’s business on there and I have experienced it myself so I’m leery.

    Anyways…CONGRATULATIONS!

Sounds like a AWESOME story to be featured on a Valentines Day Special for Oprah, Monique, Wendy Williams, or Dr. Phil…

That is great and i will say my mom grandparents where married for 69 years before he passed and then she passed a year later, maybe from a broken heart but they almost made 70 years of strong black love! What is so amazing aboutis is now strong they must have been to survive thru all the racism and crap , i just think of what they must have went thru but they still stayed together and from what my mom says raised 9 kids , never seperated and no outside kids!!
