I knew about Fefe when she first came out, i guess she didnt quite cut it or people didnt take to her as they did Rihanna, BUT fefe is a better artist hands down, but oh well, it happens. I like it. Very Janet Jackson-esque. Some scenes looked like Janet’s “Bet You Think This Song Is About You Video” (really dark and sinister and the make-up) and others like the “Get So Lonely” video (the part where she’s with the maniquin (sp?)). Two thumbs up to Rhianna for stepping out the box.

Rihanna never seems authentic to me, but she is still young and her style is just a creation that her stylist dresses her in. First she stole beyonce’s look then it was kelis hair cut and style, now its Fe-Fe dobbs…and her new video has the same feel of the ring the alarm video… somebody needs to call this chick out quick! i’m so tired of her walking around screaming im “edgy” her hair always look like michael myers wig from holloween, she can’t sing or dance, ri ri you aren’t original at all you just cop every one style and claim it as your own.

Ri Ri should be compared more to Madonna rather than Bey because Madonna was attacked the same way about her not being able to have longevity in the music business. If Bey was so great why didn’t her last cd out sell her 1st cd? Why didn’t she sell out tour dates? All Bey does is shake her ass in every video and every performance and wear revealing clothes. Fefe Dobson came out back in 2002 I believe, she had a brief hit with the song take me away, it was actually a good song, she wrote all her material. Her style is exactly like Rihanna’s style now, gothic/punk rock, she was unique, however a black girl singing punk rock wasn’t selling and her label dropped her.

KUDOS Of the art of video makin’…The music video director David laChapelle took it to another level. Rih rih makeup and clothing is on point…but i kinda expected a song like this from her..nothing special. I wish she had some better vocals but the music industry isn’t big on that now.

Def Jam thought it was too rocky and wanted her to stick to her pop/rock formula and told her to rerecord the songs… she refused and was dropped. It was a creative sacrifice for her. Us Fefe fans share it around because Def Jam didn’t give her the writes to album, they’re still holding it hostage… that’s why it wasn’t picked up… and that’s why she didn’t get signed because she had no work to shop around and had to start from scratch. But she has new songs now and has a deal Universal Canada… please support her when she comes out with her new music. You might have already heard some… they use her song Watch Me Move to advertise Lipstick Jungle and Dancing with the Stars.. so she’s out there… please help promote her.
