I like Amerie’s music. I think she wrote most of the songs on her last project. The songs would sound soooo much better if she can actually sing. If her career doesn’t work out she can always go behind the scenes.

I think she’s a pretty girl and she’s always dressed so cute…she doesn’t have the best voice in the business, but nowadays, that really isn’t a requirement for selling albums (i.e. Rihanna) so i wonder why she hasn’t blown up as much as say…Ashanti even. She probably needs a better marketing team behind her (she should hire me!), or a new label that actually beieves she’s promotable…because she is.

I think one of the reasons she hasn’t blown up is because she’s not ramming “SEX” down our throats, and she’s VERY articulate. These labels are always looking for talking heads like Rhianna,Beyowulf,and ghetto-ass K. Coles, but Amerie graduated from Georgetown and that bucks the stereotype.

There is nothing that stands out about Amerie. I enjoyed her first album but she is just another female singer. She doesn’t have a niche.

I agree with you on the not shoving sex down our throats. I love Emily King and Chrisette Michelle, yet you don’t get a lot of press on them because they’re always fully dressed and well mannered/spoken.

Same cookie cutter s***! Beautiful girl w/marginal talent. Nothing spectacular about her voice at all (which is what music should really be about after all people).
