I forgot that word, but that’s one of the first things I learned in marketing classes was misappropriation of character. Bette Midler has sued Ford, Kelsey Grammar sued Geico, so they had to change the Gecko’s voice. I’m not sure if they were paid a settlement, but I know it serves as a cease and desist.

Taco Bell and Yum Brands intentionally misappropriated his name and likeness for commercial gain. I hope they award nice punative damages too because it is of such a willful and malicious nature.
