Man Bill ain’t mad at all. He’s glad whenever someone says his name cause it ups his ratings. I mean who is really watching fox anyway? The folks who already agree with him, so sowhat?

Man, Bill O’Reilly has so many problems, I’ll leave him alone.

I was able to see the recap of the Colbert Report where Nas was on it, and it was FUNNY! I like how he asked Nas about his album title and he said he wouldn’t use the word. I like how Stephen Colbert said he’ll just say it backwards, and he looked at Nas and said “Riggen please!” HA HA HA!

This man takes cheap shots at the easiest to

target in the black community: Rappers/Entertainers

Although wise and street smart many of these

rappers could not hold a grain of salt on debating

issues of hardcore politics and social issues!

Why doesn’t this white devil step up to the plate

and get in the cross fire with real black debators!

He and Ann Coulter should just hold hands and jump off the

Brooklyn Bridge together, or better yet pack their sh!it and

go on a hunting trip with D!ck Cheney and Dubya (Bush) and

see who puts a bullet in who first!!!!!

  • dayg715

my question to him is, how did Nas’ album bomb when it’s currently sitting at NUMBER ONE? since when is an album that debuts at #1 a bomb?

  • Mock Rock Star

Why did he say “Nas” name like that!!! Three years ago gas wasn’t this high. Plus I feel the powers that be are buying up a lot of music i.e. Lil Wayne’s album. I’m not hating on Wayne, but the powers that be would much rather see a rapper talk about oral sex, being the rest rapper and hate against one of our black politicians than an artist that’s trying to uplift and show deceit in the media.

  • Aunt Viv

    @WhatsYoursIsMine,

Great idea, ‘cuz Lawd knows I could use the extra money lol!

  • WhatsYoursIsMine

Honestly, Bill O’Reilly’s problem isn’t racism, he’s just an idiot who spews venom towards anything he doesn’t agree with. He goes after EVERYONE, and I can’t believe a so-called NEWS ORGANIZATION would hire someone like that. I hate having basic cable, if I had digital I’d be able to watch the REAL NEWS: The BBC and other foreign press agencies. Even Al-Jazeera(sp) has international awards because of their journalism. I have to settle for PBS, NPR, and reading most of my news online.

Bill O’Reilly was never a real journalist to begin with. I don’t understand how people can slam Tucker Carlson for not being qualified to be on FAUX of all channels. At least Tucker Carlson was good looking. I could hit mute and stare at that gorgeous hair and cute bowties for hours on end.

  • WhatsYoursIsMine

    @Greatestloveofall-

Have you seen the Boondocks episode where they’re boycotting BET? In it Ann Coulter is supposed to be a down white girl who really dates brothers and only beefs with the liberals/democrats to get paid. It’s hilarious!

  • A Pimp Named Slickback

Hey y’all shouldn’t just sit around and say “who cares” or “f*ck O’Reilly”… stand up and DO SOMETHING. Write to the network. Boycott advertisers on his program. That’s the only way we’ll get him to shut up – hit him in the pockets, where it matters most. Once advertisers on his program start bailing out, they won’t have enough money to justify his being on the air. I’m not the most political dude but we can’t sit around and let him do what he’s doing – that’s the reason he’s doing it now. Let’s go people!

That’s a sideshow. The REAL mark-ass buster is John McCain — with an assist from the Pentagon. Read this post by KPete over at Democratic Underground. There are links at the bottom which this site won’t allow, heading back to newsbusters dot org and the daily kos.

Spread the word: JOHN MCCAIN DID A NUMBER ON OBAMA AND US TROOPS IN GERMANY FOR POLITICAL GAIN.

    ===================================================

Pentagon sabotaged Obama’s military hospital visit. Report sees McCain’s hand. Updated at 11:53 AM

    Advertisements [?]

Well, Andrea Mitchell reports that the cancellation of the hospital trip was caused by … yeah, you guessed it right, McCain.

She broke the news during today’s Morning Joe.

The background on the military flap is that they (Obama campaign) had clearly planned a trip to Ramstein (AFB). They were planning to visit the injured troops. And then the Pentagon explained that they couldn’t go as part of a political trip. The Obama campaign thought that they could go, leave the press corps on the tarmac, and then take off with military escort and make this one last visit. As he did in Iraq, by the way. He visited a casualty unit in the Green Zone, without photographers, as part of the congressional delegation. But the military said that the rules are that he could only go as part of a previously-arranged congressional delegation, to Ramstein

Clearly, people in the campaign are really angry. They had wanted this to be the final stop on the trip here in Germany, and to do it without the press corps, just to do it on his own. But the objections of the military are that he is now being staffed by campaign aides, not by his Senate staff, who are the people of course with him when he went with Hagel and Jack Reed in Iraq. So, you know, the anger here in the campaign is pretty intense at the Pentagon. They feel that the military are drawing some lines–they’re not saying this publicly of course–but drawing lines that they might have drawn for other people. He was planning to just go by himself, not with cameras, not with any entourage, as he had done in Walter Reed in the past in Washington, as he did in Iraq. Joe

JOE SCARBOROUGH: It’s curious, if that’s the case, why the campaign didn’t make that announcement yesterday, and allowed stories to go like this. I’m sure there’s going to be a lot of he said/she said in the days to come about this.

MITCHELL: But they thought that they couldn’t win. Yeah. They thought that they were, you know, you know, no-win situation, that the Pentagon, perhaps the military with cooperation from some Republican operatives and, that’s the sort of scuttlebutt, that there have been some foreign policy advisers of John McCain with connections in the Pentagon who had something to do with this. But that is, perhaps, just the normal political paranoia of the season.

  • thats legal incitement of the people

It is just sad that this whole “we are just stating facts”-thing works so well with conservative people. Instead of questioning what is really going on here, they are simply calming their nerves calling this just facts. Freedom of speech ends right at the point where it is just about degrading another race. Plus this doesn’t have anything to do with serious journalism. Why do conservative thinking people do want to keep perpetuating racism, when the economy is also important to them? The economy benefits most if there is something like harmony, we need to make money together, because the more money we all make the more we can reinvest in our financial system.

Very truthful post. I think its kind of obvious but people don’t like to hear it.

  • Katrina

No one has time for Bill O’Reilly’s or Fox News, and yes the station, is geared toward right wing conservatives. The comments, “Obama Mama”, “Racist Fist Jab” mean anything to you? Blatantly releasing Jesse Jackson’s diatribe? There’s a constant flow of bigoted information flowing out of the television. Switch to CNN’s special of Black in America, MSNBC’s Obama coverage or PBS or something. I’ve no time to neither watch nor listen to this withered old prune spout his hatred. He is just sad and bitter, he has the same smirky-ass, self-important smug look on his face constantly.

“What exactly is Bill doing that you dont’ agree with????”

    ===============================

Dude, B’More answered you — Bill spouts racist propaganda. But you want specifics? let’s do a google search for ‘bill o’reilly’ and racist:

    * On his September 19 radio show, O’Reilly said he took civil rights leader Al Sharpton to the Lenox Avenue fixture and “couldn’t get over the fact that there was no difference between Sylvia’s Restaurant and any other restaurant in New York City.”

“I mean, it was exactly the same, even though it’s run by blacks, primarily black patronship,” he told listeners. “It was the same, and that’s really what this society’s all about now here in the U.S.A. There’s no difference.”

And later, speaking with National Public Radio correspondent and Fox analyst Juan Williams, O’Reilly said there “wasn’t any kind of craziness at all” during his dinner with Sharpton: “There wasn’t one person in Sylvia’s who was screaming, ‘M.F.-er, I want more iced tea.’ ”

“It was like going into an Italian restaurant in an all-white suburb in the sense that people were sitting there and they were ordering and just having fun,” he continued.

    (courtesy CNN, September 26, 2007)

*O’Reilly, the curmudgeon host of Fox News Channel’s ‘The O’Reilly Factor,’ was talking to a caller that was angry that Obama had said on C-Span that “for the first time in my adult lifetime, I’m really proud of my country.”

The 58-year-old television commentator, who privately settled a sexual harassment lawsuit against him in 2004, responded to the caller by offering that of course they’d have to check the facts first.

He said: “I don’t want to go on a lynching party against Michelle Obama unless there’s evidence, hard facts, that say this is how the woman really feels. If that’s how she really feels – that is a bad country or a flawed nation, whatever – then that’s legit. We’ll track it down.”

    “Lynching party? Track it down?”

In the words of Whitney Houston: “Hell to the naw!”

(courtesy of AOL blackvoices February 26, 2008. Read Star Jones response, it’s killer. Part of it goes: “”I’m sick to death of people like Fox News host, Bill O’Reilly, and his ilk thinking that he can use a racial slur against a black woman who could be the next First Lady of the United States, give a half-assed apology and not be taken to task and called on his crap. This week O’Reilly gave the following response to a caller on his radio show who was making unsubstantiated negative charges against presidential candidate Barack Obama’s wife, Michelle Obama. What the hell? If it’s ‘legit,’ you’re going to ‘track it down?’ And then what do you plan to do? How dare this white man with a microphone and the trust of the public think that in 2008, he can still put the words ‘lynch and party’ together in the same sentence with reference to a black woman; in this case, Michelle Obama? I don’t care how you ‘spin it’ in the ‘no spin zone,’ that statement in and of itself is racist, unacceptable and inappropriate on every level.”)

  • me

    Katrina

“The comments, “Obama Mama”, “Racist Fist Jab” mean anything to you? Blatantly releasing Jesse Jackson’s diatribe? ”

Im not sure how that makes fox news a racist organization… sure they joked.. but msnbc called mccain old and confused.. and msnbc is the most lefist news station around… so im not sure what your point is… and im nost sure what you mean by Blatantly releasing Jesse Jackson’s diatribe.. what do you blantantly… he said something, fox reported it… do you think msnbc would hold something if mccain said it or bush or any other republican… No.. so why is fox all of a sudden racist because of that… that’s insanity.. you’re just looking for a reason to hate on good old Bill…

  • me

    nita..

you’re pulling for straws… he said “i don’t want to go on a lynching party.. basically telling the caller to calm down and get your facts straight…

if that makes him racist than you surely have never dealt with any true racism in your life..

  • Nita

For the poster ‘me’, regarding some of the reasons why folks are upset at Bill O’Reilly, continued. The following examples are all from a FAIR dot org blog article, written by Peter Hart, updated June 2003:

    * In April 2003, Fox News Channel’s Bill O’Reilly hosted a fundraiser for Best Friends, a charity benefiting inner-city schoolchildren. As reported in the Washington Post (4/15/03), O’Reilly was trying to fill the time before a singing group connected with the charity, called the Best Men, was set to perform, and quipped: “Does anyone know where the Best Men are? I hope they’re not in the parking lot stealing our hubcaps.”

According to the Post report, some of the conservatives in the audience were aghast at the seemingly racist crack.

*Two months before O’Reilly’s “hubcaps” remark, he used a racist slur on the air. Searching for a word to describe someone who assists immigrants crossing the border, O’Reilly came up with “wetback” (2/6/03). The incident was explained away by Fox officials as an unfortunate gaffe (New York Times, 2/10/03), but the Allentown, Pa. Morning Call (1/5/03) had O’Reilly using the same racist term in a speech earlier in the year: “O’Reilly criticized the Immigration and Naturalization Service for not doing its job and not keeping out ‘the wetbacks.’” O’Reilly denied making the comment (Washington Post, 2/17/02), but the reporter stands by his account.

    (same article, FAIR dot org)

    * During an interview for Stuff magazine (11/02), O’Reilly opined that “the most unattractive women in the world are probably in the Muslim countries.” O’Reilly later insisted (New York Daily News, 10/10/02), “There was no malice intended. It was just in jest.”

    * During a segment (2/9/00) about black athletes suing over the minimum academic standards for college admission, O’Reilly commented: “Look, you know as well as I do most of these kids come out and they can’t speak English.”

    * Criticizing Democratic politicians who met with Rev. Al Sharpton, which O’Reilly compared to meeting with white supremacist David Duke: “Why would it be different? Both use race to promote themselves.” (3/16/00) O’Reilly also equated the Black Panthers with Duke (1/11/99): “You were promoting your people, black people, and he’s promoting white people. So what’s the difference?”

    * “We have black leaders in this country who blame everything on whitey, everything’s the system’s fault, and that gives a built-in excuse to fail and act irresponsible. ‘Oh, I can’t get a job. Whitey won’t let me,’ or ‘I can’t get educated. The teachers are bad, so I’m going to go out and get high and sell drugs. That’s the only way we can make money here.’ You know what I mean? And it’s a vicious cycle” (6/8/99).

    * “Will African-Americans break away from the pack thinking and reject immorality–because that’s the reason the family’s breaking apart–alcohol, drugs, infidelity. You have to reject that, and it doesn’t seem–and I’m broadly speaking here, but a lot of African-Americans won’t reject it” (2/25/99).

    * “I’ve been to Africa three times. All right? You can’t bring Western reasoning into the culture. The same way you can’t bring it into fundamental Islam” (5/6/02).

After the “wetback” incident, O’Reilly wrote in a newspaper column (South Florida Sun-Sentinel, 3/1/03) that Americans “must realize that racial demonization is now organized and well-funded, and it will not end until everyday people begin condemning it.” He wasn’t talking about himself, though; he was referring to critics who label him a racist.

  • Nita

Still want to argue, me? I haven’t even explored the bulk of Color of Change’s charges against FOX News itself, JUST this campaign season. Do you want to go there? (which reminds me, why have so many of HIllary’s people been hired, recently, by Fox? and what is going to happen at the Democratic convention since Fox was given a prime seat last year by Howard Dean, I believe?)

You are aware of the photographic evidence floating out there of Fox News intentionally photoshopping their photos, ‘OJ on the cover of Time’ style, to make anyone they disagree with look ‘bad’……. they photoshop people to look darker, to have broader noses, to have yellower teeth, they give people unibrows, … that is not professional journalism, it’s entertainment for the simple-minded. They were even caught given a Jewish dude a hooked nose he didn’t have!

Unfortunately, if you don’t have the internet you will NEVER know the extremes to which Fox will go to misrepresent the news. Fox is the most watched network. It can’t only be because they serve up their nastiness with a side of bottle-blonde with fake breasts, can it?

Why do YOU watch Fox News, ‘me’?

  • Corey

Actually O’Reilly’s statements don’t make logical sense. How could Nas have done this to help slow sales when he made the song attacking Fox BEFORE he knew if he was going to sell one or one million copies?

  • He’s Presidential

Do i believe Bill spews the truth? Hell ya i do..

The mans a geopolitical genius and is quite good at what he does..

sure you can try and take that away from him and label him however you like, but he says the truth and he’s not PC about it… something you won’t find very often… too bad though..

Tells the truth? I guess you didn’t get the ‘outrage’ memo from folks a lot more convincing than you at the bigot game, about why in god’s name O’Reilly would ‘cover’ for Jesse Jackson a couple weeks ago during the ‘castration’/'nword’ flap on a hot mic.

So if *those* folks are calling O’Reilly a con artist and making nasty references to his days at Inside Edition — what does that make you? I know, I know:

it makes you a troll trying to start b.s. on a black website for no reason than to start b.s. Troll on, then.

‘Sup TSCombo. When you mention O’Reilly’s white grandmother, it reminds me of the brouhaha over Obama discussing his own white grandmother and her subconscious reactions toblack people, and Obama being accused of tossing her under the bus when he said she was a ‘typical white person’. I don’t think he did. But it’s being used against him in the same way Michelle’s remarks about being proud of America are being used against her……. by people like Bill O’Reilly (as related above, with Star Jones rebuttal).

I will have to hear the entire interview. Thank you. As it stands, when placed next to everything else (which will also have to get the ‘hear the entire interview treatment) — there’s a pattern here, and O’Reilly is not an innocent.

  • Nita

@ thats legal incitement of the people wrote, “It is just sad that this whole “we are just stating facts”-thing works so well with conservative people. Instead of questioning what is really going on here, they are simply calming their nerves calling this just facts.”

You know what’s effed up? The conservative women I know ‘in real life’ want HILLARY, with a couple (the really religious ones, I don’t know what that means) talking about being absolutely frightened by Obama. It’s like he’s the damn Antichrist in the flesh, to them. They are that frightened, in real life. They find him creepy. The conservative men I know want Obama. I haven’t met any conservative yet who admits to wanting McCain. I don’t think the PUMA movement is real.

I’ve seen a couple Obama stickers and signs out here on nice rides. I haven’t seen any McCain stickers, let alone signs. Might just be my neighborhood, though.

As for conservatives and racism, the conservatives would say that it’s the liberals who are the true racists because they ‘pimp poverty’, want minorities to remain ignorant and tied to the government tit instead of finding ways to pull one’s self up by one’s bootstrap, and that Democrats refuse to give minorities real power in the party beyond symbolism — that’s up to Republicans. And then they point to Powell and Rice. On the other hand, there are the shakedowns held by Jesse and Sharpton, which unfortunately give them real ammo when they say liberals are the real racists. And when people whine about ‘what’s Obama going to do for me? we need more money for this and that’…….. it kinda rings true, the government tit part. It ain’t all true, but….

I would like to see more emphasis on self-reliance and strengthening communities through small business ownership and home ownership, instead of emphasis on ‘job fairs’ (working for other people) and ‘studies on the problem’.

That’s no excuse for the b.s. laid down by the likes of the troll ‘me’, however. That person actually excused Bill O’Reilly by basically saying everybody is racist, and Bill’s racism is reality, ‘truth’. ‘Me’ is not a conservative, and does not represent true conservative views.

I’m running with tscombo on this one. Black people need to stop being so g**dam* sensitive about race and protective anytime someone challenges a rap artist about the content of their lyrics.

First dummies, Nas is an entertainer. That “knowledge” stuff he’s spittin is pure garbage. 95% of it makes no sense at all. Dude is uneducated, so how can he speak to me about knowledge. Half his stuff is purportedly about lifting black people up and the other half is about banging broads and shooting n***as. O’Reilly scoped him out on that one. Nas ain’t no better than 50…he just plays that role. He’s in the music business dummies…and his business is to make money while dumb fans buy his garbage and debate his place in music history. If Nas was so concious and such an activist why is he just now doing protest? He’s got an album out now dummies. He’s trying to boost sales. What exactly has Nas done in the community? Nada, Zilch, Zero.

I like O’Reilly because unlike most of your liberal white people, at least he’s honest with his. He’s not hiding his viewpoint or his ignorance. That way, it can be addressed or examined. White Democrats and Liberals act like their your friends but are condescending and covertly racist. Stop letting ignorance shape your views…

O’ reily is an idiot not a racist. There is a difference- a racist will kill or harm one of another race an idiot just says baseless and dumb statements with racial undertones

He is prejudice, ignorant, and his views are extremly one sided. What he is effective at is spewing his views and enciting those who are truly racist.

He can’t debate a topic, he just spits loud nonsense

  • Lou in the Chi

I don’t think O’reilly is a racist. Maybe a little bigotted, but not racist. But what he says are usually not facts, but his opinion. Which is the case with most of these cable pundits. They don’t report they “opine”. I watch Bill all the time cause it gives me ample opportunity to argue with the t.v. The man does usually make concise arguments for his point, I just happen not to agree. Now Sean Hannity, that is a racist. I feel sorry for Allen.

  • BeReal

Nita – you are right on point with your facts and statements. It is obvious that me and others that think like him/her are white (or blacks walking in the dark)

All the blacks who walk in the light know that by Bill saying Nas’ name wrong is a sly racist move. If his name was Chad or John would it be easier for him?

I know people would love for black people to shut up! But we refuse to, just like we refused to be slaves and it was only for those that spoke out that stopped slavery. Now if we be quiet about offensive, racist behavior it will only get worst.

The best defensive is a good offense:

    1. Buy the album and listen to it

    2. Stop watching Fox.

    3. Write Fox and tell them why

    4. Write your congressman and hold them accountable for legislature that holds reporters accountable for their actions and words

Lou from the Chi, I am sure that the slaves who died trying to get away don’t agree they did not make a difference. I am sure the underground railroad had something to do with the fact that blacks got to the North. Maybe Lincoln freed the slaves for his own selfish reasons, but many slaves where putting in the good fight long before. I am sure these slaves had a hand in getting the North to side with them.

Please do some research and don’t rely on what you learned in HIS STORY. Slaves were coming up with Negro spirituals to communicate how to escape long before they were freed. They new going to the North was the key.

Kwame Kilpatrick of Detroit told a black lady as he was being hit with shoving a police officer serving his friend some papers at his sister house.

You are a black woman. why are you with a person who last name is (Brian) white. you are supposed to be representing us. you should be ashamed of yourself. why are you a part of this.

B.S. and full of racism that dosent make no sense

  • tscombo

    @ Foxxie

I don’t think his heart was in it as well. NAS usually doesn’t do alot of interviews outside of Hip Hop magazines. For him to come out in protest of something you would think it was HUGE injustice. Considering his original album title and this, it’s making him look very opportunistic and dishonest toward the people he is supposed to be looking out for in the first place.

More on the Kwame Kilpatrick Shoving of a Police Office from Freep.com:

Brian White, who said he has been a cop for 20 years, said he was on his way to serve a subpoena to city employee Brenda Braceful when he noticed a Ferguson Enterprises truck in the neighborhood. He said he stopped because he had a subpoena for Bobby Ferguson.

White said he checked the address, which was the home of the mayor’s sister Ayanna Kilpatrick. When he got out of his vehicle with his partner, White testified, he saw one of the mayor’s police bodyguards.

“I identified myself immediately as a police officer, I raised my ID and said I needed to speak to Bobby Ferguson,” White testified. “He made a sweeping motion with his right arm to the house … he accompanied us to the front door.”

After meeting a man who identified himself as Derrick Ferguson, White said he heard shouting from Ayanna Kilpatrick’s home.

” ‘Don’t tell those f—— anything … Get the f— out of here.’ At that point Kilpatrick comes storming out through the door, grabbed me with both of my hands behind me and throws me into investigator Kinney,” referring to his partner, retired Detroit Police Homicide Sgt. Joann Kinney.

At that point in White’s testimony, Kilpatrick turned, wide-eyed, toward one of his police bodyguards sitting in the front row of the courtroom. The police officer shook his head.

White continued testifying that Kilpatrick said: “Get the f— out of here. Leave my f—— family alone. Get off my f—— porch.”

White testified Kilpatrick continued accusing him of harassing his family.

White testified that he had seen Kilpatrick before. He said he booked him when Kilpatrick turned himself in on eight felony charges.

Thomas asked White about his encounter with Ferguson’s relative: “What business did you have on the porch after he denied he was who you were looking for?”

White replied: “I asked him what his relationship was to Bobby Ferguson.”

As White testified, Kilpatrick sat with his legs crossed and his hands clasped in his lap, briefly shaking his head at one point.

Thomas asked White, “Did you go there to provoke an incident?”

White denied that his emotions were high and said “it happened so fast” that he didn’t have time to leave before Kilpatrick grabbed him. He also testified that he felt fear.

As Thomas questioned him, White said Kilpatrick pushed past Ferguson, who he described as a tall, husky man, to get to him. White said he did not have bruises, but was examined at Henry Ford Hospital and was told he might have a slight fracture to his hip. He said neither he nor his partner were knocked over by Kilpatrick, a former standout college football player at Florida A&M University.

White said he was not confrontational. He said he and his partner left immediately after Kilpatrick laid hands on him.

Kinney later testified: “It happened so fast … I was like, I couldn’t believe this was happening.”

Referring to Kilpatrick as “Mr. Mayor,” Kinney said the mayor shouted at her: “You, a black woman being with a man with the last name White, you should be ashamed of yourself. Why are you a part of this?”

Kinney said she has been working as a consultant to the prosecutor since May.

  • ARTOFWAR

@foxxie…… You stated: THE CAUSE THAT HE IS MARCHING FOR IS A GREAT MESSAGE, NAS IN THIS CASE , IS NOT THE BEST MESSENGER.

    ——————————————————————————————

I absolutely concur with your assessment. Rappers in general, are not the best examples of truth, and wholesomeness.

And that is due to the dichotomies, that is often revealed within the very subject matter, and lyrics of their music. Tupac, Biggie, Jay. Z, NaS and many others, are great examples of these dichotomies. Meaning that in one song they will praise the greatness of living a virtuous life. And then in the very next song they’re talking about selling drugs, and killing Ni@#gas.

It is unfortunate but true, you can not boast about your hedonistic life style. And then expect to be viewed, as the beacon for moral, and political truths. And not be called on it.

On the same note, Bill (sex scandal) O’Reilly is not the one that should be pointing fingers either.

It was not too long ago, that he was involved in a very nasty sex scandal, which he so conveniently forgets about, when he is riding so very high, on his horse. ARTOFWAR…

Their “agreement” to the petition isn’t necessary. Any television analyst would tell you that 1 person is represenative of a lot more so “600,000″ should give them pause. Particularly with no other petitions/demonstrations at other studios.

Yes, publishing the story is acknowledging the “petition” but not the “perception” problem. I guess I should have phrased it better.

    Man, i just dont’ care..

I understand what you mean… a pause is probably in order, that’s for sure.. but i don’t think a petition will get them off the air.. if one is serious about doing some real harm, hit them in the wallet, wich im sure you either already reiterated, or atleast agree..

I am with O’Reilly on this one and I hate the man with a passion, but Nas stinks and has tried to name a whole album the N Word…what type of rubbish is that?

  • @@@

some of you on this site is so racist, bias, preaches seperation of the hunam race.

how can anyone take anything seriously what most

of you have to say, beacause everyone is so angry

including NAS – why everthing has to be racism,

how can this culture come together as one, when

the same things that you are acusing fox of doing

you are doing to yourself -

why Nas dont protest for black on black crime

protests for the young youth to stay in school

encourage education, stop preaching voilence in rap music, stop making video that protray woman as b*tches, sex object, etc , encourage black man to marry their children mothers.

DID ANYONE WATCH *BLACKS MAN IN AMERICA**

This may seem Bill but it’s not, when you consider it in greater detail. Bill is simple, be more concerned about what you can sell at, than you’re able to buy at. The first and most important advice I could give you is using Bill.

  • http://hostrun.net Affordable Shared Hosting

Please go backup Bill now. Make sure that you have the truth available and do your best to see what Denzel Washington’s The Great Debaters they host. Naturally, this makes the truth somewhat bewildering when it comes to getting a time and place.

    @Realmatic

You brought up some great points that should not be overlooked. However, I still love Nas as an artist and an artist only, let me make that clear. But I have to agree, like so many artists in rap music, Nas is full of contraditions and is very self serving. The truth hurts…ouch! But then again, atleast he stepped up as an artist and took some risks to get a dialogue going about some very taboo topics that we need to be discussing in 2008. We need to come to a consensus about so many things, but especially about race in America. I stopped watching Fox a long time ago for many of the reason’s displayed in these comments, but not soley because of Bill O’Rielly. I strongly believe that we (people of color) must stop making excuses when people call us out on our BS or double talking. And on the same note, we must stop giving energy to people like Bill O’Rielly, b/c at the end of the day, it’s money in the bank for him. Just stop watching FOX. Period point blank. The fall in ratings will do the talking. And I didn’t need Nas to tell me that…I peeped FOX a lonnnggg time ago. What we need to be focusing on, instead of Nas and O’Rielly, IS McCain and O’Bama….that’s where the focus needs to be. But then again, atleast we are talking about it, we all need to get involved in politics that affect our lives, maybe this is a way to get the ball rolling.

It’s one thing if Obama was behind this protest. Or someone else that’s a better role model, that we know of at least.

But Nas behind this protest – I can’t take him seriously. We know that Nas falls very short of being a Role Model. Anyone that calls my people by the N word should not be starting a racism protest.

  • viki8877

    he talked with his fans on ” ___m u l t i r a c i a l l o v e.c o m___”sometimes.I saw his there few moments ago..he’s write some diary there..it’s interesting.U could konw how his daily life is.just search his username u can find out

@COME ON wrote, “I love NAS album. I open my mind and just listen to it, go cop the album because is bring that FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.”

I was converted, too, after listening to some of the joints on youtube. It’s going to be an album which is referenced 20 years from now, and not because of the gimmick of its title. At least, I hope it is. It would be a shame if all the booty/strip club music is what this era’s version of rap is represented by.

Nas is thinking. Some of his raps are written by other people (I’m thinking specifically of the above ‘Sly Fox’, where there’s a debate online about it because it was written by Stic Man of the Dead Presidents); but I don’t care, mostly because those raps are ‘thinking’, too. Nas may be a chameleon… but if you’re going to be a chameleon, it’s better to be this than Plies.

This album deserves to live. Album sales should be secondary to The Message.

    * Nas is not ‘behind this protest’. Nas is a celebrity assisting Color of Change. Nas is not head of Color of Change, nor did he begin the protest. Please visit the website. Color of Change is doing the grassroots work to make this nation, and the world, a better place. One of those issues they deal with is Fox News.

Check this out, according to Color of Change at their site:

    —————————————–

    “”Dancing with the Devil”

The CBC Institute should not legitimize Fox.

Tell the CBC Institute to drop its talks with Fox.

Fox News has consistently attacked Black people, leaders, and cultural institutions. Despite this fact, the Congressional Black Caucus Institute is in negotiations with Fox to co-host presidential debates.

You can see the letter that we sent to our members, here.

Should the CBC Institute partner with Fox, it would legitimize Fox as a fair and balanced news source, effectively disregarding Fox’s clearly hostile stance towards Black political interests. It runs counter to the stated goals of the Institute as well as the CBC’s commitment to advocate for racial equality and justice and its desire to be considered the “conscience of Congress.”

UPDATE: After hearing from thousands of ColorOfChange.org members, the leading Democratic presidential candidates refused to attend the debate on Fox, and the CBC Institute was forced to cancel the debate. ”

    ————————————————-

From what I’m pulling from google, this was a big issue since at least April of 2007. It’s discussed at MANY black blogs. I don’t think this site is one of the black blogs that dealt with it, though.

In my opinion, Obama cannot be behind a protest of this nature. I believe this protest does not need a top-down approach, it needs a grass-roots approach. Color of Change is that grass-roots. As a member of the Senate and hopefully President of the United States, Obama can use other methods to deal with Fox News (and other media outlets) outright lies.

Some folks may say that ain’t happening given the FISA ‘amnesty to telecoms for helping Bush-Cheney spy on citizens’ vote. I hope that’s not the case.

  • Dime

O’Reilly is as racists as they come and uses Black discussion to up his ratings. Turn his A** off. I don’t even like looking at him. The Fox network has some funny and strange looking people on there. Hannity and O’reilly (The look of racists), And people lets not let him distract us from the real political issues that we all need to be focused on. Fox is real good at trying to deflect everyone’s attention by putting black folk on TV in order to manipulate or put down.

  • Isaidit

Fox news = KKK and O’reily is trying to rise to Imperial wizard status… Modern day racism.

  • kenya

the media is sly as a fox this whole album sales i hate nas campaign is a smoke screen. why won’t bill o. talk about why bush is murdering thousands in the name of oil(money)

or why one in one-hundred and fifty children (including my son) are being diagnosed with autism

why we are shelling out over four dollars for gas, when most of us can’t even afford health insurance for our families

  • MEME

FAUX will be quick to say that Nas has an album to promote….. But they OBVIOUSLY overlooked the proproganda that they were spreadin’ about Nas last year when he was booked to perform at Virginia Tech…… they tried everything in their power to get him barred from performin’……..

That is a HUGE reason why I believe Nas joined that protest rather than to drum up publicity for his album….. his album has had enough publicity since last year…….

Nas has a personal vendetta against FOX after they were spreadin’ lies about him…… all because he was booked to perform at the Virginia Tech concert last year……

And Bill is quick to talk about Nas’ album sales….. hmmmmm…….. havin’ the #1 album in the country is more of a success……. rather than a failure…….

But the NEVER addressed why more than half of a million signatures…… I signed the petition myself……. are callin’ for them to stop their racist rants……

And if y’all don’t believe FOX is racist…… there is this website called FOX Attacks……. they have COLLAGES of racist comments made from VARIOUS FOX analysts……. includin’ Bill O’Rielly……

1st Bill O’Rielly…….. he shouldn’t even say that he isn’t a racist…… and says Nas peddles the N-Word…… because the way he talks on his show……. I’m pretty DAMN sure he peddles that word at his dinner table…… Nas might have to get Phil Donohue and Keith Olberman to sick in that ass…….. AGAIN……….

For O’Rielly to use the term “LYNCHING PARTY” for a BLACK woman…….. is racist……

For O’Rielly to say that he didn’t expect restaraunt etiquette from blacks…… is racist….

For O’Rielly to tell an educated black man on his television show……… that he couldn’t articulate……. is racist…….

For O’Rielly to say that the outcome of Hurricane Katrina was a twisted theory from blacks to blame the whiteman…… and that they wouldn’t be in that predicament if they got jobs…… is racist…….

You don’t even have to watch FOX to know that their racist…..

  • MEME

Nita Sly Fox was produced by Stic. Man of Dead Prez….. Nas writes all of his own material…… and he’s an industry ghostwriter as well……

All y’all who love clean Hip-Hop….. Nas ghost wrote “Gettin’ Jiggy Wit’ It” for Will Smith…..

NAS just wanted publicity instead of coming out with singles…jumping on remixs…and having videos….and it didn’t work…he sucks

if you wanted to save the world from FOX why didnt you do it before your album was set to debut

  • COME ON

let me explain Nas is one of the best rapper ever……. you got that? Record sell don’t mean squat. Nas been relevant for decades, why are you putting lil wayne record sell in this? Yall on that dumb sh– ,you act like you can’t listen to two relevant artist….. what the fu– be happy for both jeeeesh.

  • http://www.speeklife.com Thoughtz

LOL Why did he mention the MEDIA that did or did not support the effort, but said nothing about the PEOPLE who did support the effort… What really would have been funny (and probably will happen come to think of it), if Fox gets Rev. Jesse Petterson to “present the black perspective” on the issue. There are dollars in deception, smh…

@2cute4u…….It is as though, we are kindred sprits. And no, I am not trying to get vaginal points here.

I do very well here in MIA, in those delicate departments. However, I have found that almost everything you have scribed. Is just so in the flows and epees of my own perceptions, well what can I say. Except that, it is nice to know there are still some real ones out there. Next time you are in Miami, let me know. Bring your man, your sisters and your brothers, I will show you all of Miami. From land, sea, and air.

    Sincerely ARTOFWAR.
