Didnt the hood make him who is now?So why would you want to forget about the hood cause thats basically what he saying.You NEVER forget where you come from.Wouldnt you want to go back in yo hood and try to make it better for the people who are still there.If I had money like him I’d still role thru my hood.

I hear a lot of yall talking about him having a responsibility to help the hood, Jay aint god, so therefore he can’t save the world. Its your own responsibility to save yourself. I believe the hood likes to make people feel ashamed of having success, “oh you a sell out”, when the truth is if it were us in his shoes we would get the hell out of the hood too. Who wants to live in poverty, ***** in the hallways, dead bodies in the street, prostitution, mother*****ers fightin all the time. I believe that once your status in life changes, so do your priorities, you can’t take a hood mantality and a hood way of life to a rich mans game, you’ll get eatin alive. As black people we need to learn that knowledge is key, and your way of thinking has a lot to do with who you become.

I swear black people are the only ppl who will celebrate a man finally maturing after 30+ years of living. I knew that keeping it real ***** was a joke when i was a teen. Jay is only saying these things cause he knows that he can’t say the things he was saying throughtout his 20s & 30s. I give more props for a young man saying this in his late teens & early 20s.
