Despite the sentence…he keeps trying to push on and recover…if anything this setback has made him more resilient..His spirits seem high and according to several reports over that past few weeks…Chris Brown is still loved by plenty…Needless to say, it seems that anything that he has a desire to do or is asked to do, he does it well. Has it occurred to you the reason he didn’t go to jail is because there is more to the story? Why do you think Rihanna agreed so quickly to the plea bargin because she didn’t want to testify. It benefited both of them because if he was sentenced to jail, then he would tell the whole truth because then he would have nothing to lose. He was dead wrong for hitting her, but everyone should keep their hands to themselves period. Like my grandmother used to say, if you are big enough to dish it, then you are big enough to take it.

This claim is so false because Chris’ labor-oriented community service is supervised and assigned by the Police Department of Richmond as required by the judge’s original order.

So unless Chris can pick and choose what assignments he does, the judge would need to take that issue up with the police department ultimately.

*This* is a prime example of institutionalized racism. What does she mean, “is the labor hard enough?” He has been out picking up trash, wallowing in ditches, and he has done it all in stride. If you ask me, that is precisely the problem. She doesn’t want him to do his community service graciously. She wants to demoralize and humiliate him. This isn’t about him repaying a debt to society or doing community service. This is about her snuffing the dignity out of this young, black male. Since his community service would have to be approved before he does it, I don’t see what the problem is.

And no, I don’t normally complain about “the man,” but I am fully aware that “the man” or in this case, “wo-man” is very real, and when they want to exercise their authority, they can. SMH

I guess they really are trying to make him the “new Michael Jackson”, in terms of how white media treats him and how some black people jump on the bandwagon.

You are right, when it gets to that point, you need to leave. That’s why he told her to get out the car. But, she refused and decided to play games and pretended to call her friend instead of the police. Like I said, he is dead wrong for hitting her. But, he is taking responsibility for his actions. He has pled guilty and taking his punishment. He damn near lost everything. How long should he be punished for 1 incident? As long as he is completing his sentence and getting help, that should be enough. Obviously Ri has moved on, it’s time for everyone else to do the same.
