The upcoming issue of Jet Magazine talks about the 2008 Beijing Games and the Black athletes to watch at the Olympics:
Tennis champs Venus and Serena Williams, basketball star Dwyane Wade, and track and field great Tyson Gay are just a few of the world’s elite Black athletes ready to compete on the grandest stage on the globe at the Olympics. The best African-American sports stars are prepared to vie for the gold there when the international multi-sport competition opens Aug. 8 in China’s capital, Beijing. For 21 days, they’ll join more than 10,000 other men and women representing over 200 nations, all competing for the ultimate prize of Olympic glory.

I hope these star atheletes bring home the gold, but either way, going to the Olympics is a spectacular achievement. Congrats to all of them.

I can’t lie, I’ve been disappointed so often by black Olympic heroes getting their medals stripped because of drug usage. The straw that broke the camels back (and my heart) was Marion Jones, though. I’m still going to cheer, but something will always be missing for me.
Yall know these athletes are about to dominate the Olympics and leave everyone there crying.
Whateva! I am not bragging, I am just being honest when I say that my country Jamaica has the fastest men in the world! They are Asafa Powell and Usain Bolt (they are record holders); they specialize in the men’s 100 and 200 meters races. They are the ones who will be taking these American runner’s spotlight which they always do…Jamaica will get gold in the men’s 100 and 200 meters race at the Olympics! I also expect the best from them in the other races as well; and also from the other men who are also great.
Our women runners are also apart of the creme de la creme of fast runners in the world so most def can expect them to burn up the track as well. Some of these women are Veronica Campbell, Sherone Simpson, Sheron Stewart, Mrs. Foster…and the list of fantastic runners go on!
We also have outstanding athletes in other sporting areas as well…so you can bet your ***** that you will keep hearing Jamaica’s national anthem at the Olympics.
What? No mention of Kobe? The best player in the game of basketball but you show D. Wade?

I saw a picture of WNBA player Candace Parker and her NBA boyfriend and I must say that she can do a lot better. Im sure she can pull a cuter NBA player because he is like on the 1st five of the Ugliest guys in the NBA. His name is Sheldon Williams and he plays for the Hawks. Man he is neck and neck with Sam C*****ell as being the mosy UGLY NBA Baller. C’mon Candace you are to cute for that monster. Heck that light skin dude named Horton on the Hawks is a real banger. Drob ole Ugly Shelden Williams and get with ole cutie pie Al Horton.

I wish the best of luck to all the Black Athletes. I love them and respect them – but I will NOT be watching the Olympics this year due to the fact China is hosting them. China has a LOT to do with a lot of Turmoil in Africa including the Sudan. And I honestly think other places in Africa, too. Not only does CHINA and the Chinese head of the UN not care about Africa, they don’t care about their own people either. If you read any news about China, all you see is people fighting for their human rights, being deprived of freedom of speech, etc. So unfortunately, I won’t see Serena, etc. –but as I said – best of luck to you guys.
