Three teachers in California are in jeopardy of losing their jobs after making the decision to honor Black History month by giving their students portraits of O.J. Simpson, RuPaul and Dennis Rodman.
The three white teachers who teach third and fourth grade are on administrative leave after giving their students portraits of the “unlikely” Black heroes to carry in the Black History Month parade.
The incident occurred Friday at Wadsworth Elementary school in Los Angeles.
While other children toted pictures of Nelson Mandela, Harriet Tubman and President Obama during the festivities, the teachers chose to give their students pictures of the basketball player, accused murderer and notorious drag queen.
The Los Angeles chapter of the NAACP reported the incident to District Superintendent Ramon Cortines after receiving a complaint.
