Details in the bizarre story of a fist fight between two celebrities and their families have emerged, suggesting that racial tensions were to blame for the brawl. According to a report from The New York Post racial epithets may have sparked the fight between “America’s Next Top Model” contestant Bianca Golden, “Hairspray” star Nikki Blonsky and their respective families.

The skirmish took place Wednesday in the lounge of Providenciales Airport on the Turks and Caicos Islands as both parties were waiting to board a flight back to New York. Bianca’s mother, Elaine Golden, was allegedly beaten by Nikki’s father Carl Blonsky so badly that she was airlifted to a Florida hospital, where she remains in the intensive care unit with a broken nose and cracked skull. Blonsky is being held in an island jail after failing to post $75,000 bail.

According to the Post report, the incident began when the Blonskys took up several seats in a small departure lounge with the family’s luggage. A member of the Golden family, who was holding a child, asked that room be made so that he could sit down. According to a witness account, the Blonskys were resentful that some of their luggage had to be placed on the floor and began making racial comments, including referring to blacks as animals and using the n-word.

“Bianca sat and listened and tried to ignore it until it got too much for her, and then she told Nikki to shut her mouth,” said the model’s cousin, Maria Williams.

But other sources say the epithets started with the Goldens: “I don’t want to sit next to any white b*tch.” said one of the ground, he unnamed source claims.

After the words escalated into a physical fight, the two celebs – both 19 – were arrested on charges of assault with “actual bodily harm,” which carries a possible sentence of two years. The were both release from jail and Nikki, who had to post $6,000 bail, will have to appear in Turks & Caicos criminal court on charges of assault.

Carl Blonsky faces a potential eight-year prison term and is being held at least until Friday on a charge of “grievous bodily harm.”

Okay, first of all, I LOVE Nikki Blonsky, don’t know much about Bianca except what I saw on Top Model, but I don’t think the “n-word” was a part of this scuffle.

Yeah it just seems like an awful lot of drama for such a small gorgeous island. I might rool there with the fellas but no way am I taking a female down there. I don’t know what to say about this incident. The father was wrong for hitting the woman but if Bianca’s family knew that it was a problem for the Blonsky’s moving there luggage, why couldn’t they have just said never mind I’m sitting somewhere else. I’m all about conflict resolution not about the drama. This is so silly and could have been avoided.

The facts are, Blonsky’s are held for assault, doesn’t matter what the women with the camera phone said. Something is making authorities believe that the Blonsky’s are at fault for damages. Beyond all that, why would he think he can hit a “black” woman like that is beyond me. Seems to me that he feels that “black” women don’t deserve respect.
