1st of all, Joe’s head is completely m*****ive.
Now, moving along, I actually liked one of his albums, although he’s not much of a singer.

Has it ever occurred to Joe that he doesn’t get airplay because his songs are boring cookie-cutter bootycall music? Lets’ be honest, most of his cds’ have 1 or 2 songs with strong hooks and melodies and the rest is filler.

I don’t know if it’s true or not but I will say this….R Kelly has made the top notch people at Jive very, very, very rich over the years. He has been on Jive for his entire career and regardless of his personal issues, he is a musical genius who is also a mutli-platinum selling artist. Therefore if I had an artist who made me multi, multi-millions, you damn right I’m going to make him a major priority and listen to what he has to say!!! I don’t support Hatin’ or **********ness, but hell Kellz got to pay them lawyers and eat too. Joe will be alright.
… so what, there aint enough *****e in the industry for the both? I mean, they both very talented singers, Kellz be making up songs and soap-operas while peeing on folk and Joe prolly while shaving that ginormous head of hes… I do enjoy they Music!

There was an interview with R. Kelly a few years ago in the Rollingstone (i think) where he was critiquing his contemporaries Joe and Montell Jordan. He praised Joe’s voice and singing talent, but said his songs selections was weak and needed better production. Montell Jordan, he dismissed as garbage, which i agree. Montell’s This is for the honeyz, was crap. Last i heard, Montell’s last cd was so bad, his label refused to release it.

his last album was hot, no doubt, compared to some of the ish R.Kelly put out his stuff was definitely better! “Ain’t Nothin Like Me” has got a couple of hit songs and what did R.Kelly put out?? “Real Talk” -that was the wackest ish EVA! Don’t get me wrong I love the *****ers music, but I will never understand why Joe’s last CD flopped.
Joe should think of new ways to market hisself. He got enuff dome room to have many bright ideas.

R&B singer Joe has accused R. Kelly of trying to derail his career by pressuring radio DJs not to play his records. The singer released six albums with Jive Records over an 11 year period, but left the label earlier this year after the company pushed back the release of his 2007 LP, Ain’t Nothin Like Me, several times.
The Grammy winner believes fellow Jive artist R. Kelly was to blame, claiming the singer would call Jive bosses and radio stations and urge them not to promote the singer too heavily, according to reports.
“R. Kelly was very instrumental in making a lot of decisions when it came to my records being played on the radio,” Joe said.
“He would make a call to the radio station or to the label and say, ‘Hey, this Joe record is too hot right now. Y’all (sic) need to pull that back.’ And they would oblige. It’s incredible that now I get the opportunity to, I don’t know, maybe pay (R. Kelly) back in some sort of side bar kind of thing.”
And Joe, who left Jive to release his forthcoming LP New Man through Kedar Entertainment Group, insists that despite R. Kelly’s alleged intervention, he’s still got plenty of stake in the industry.
He says, “I’m still very relevant in the game. But yeah, he did try to make some decisions when it came down to my records being on fire, and climbing up the charts and on the radio stations.”

His last album there were maybe 2 entire songs I didnt like on the cd of 14 or 15 tracks…it was one of those cds you just put in and let it play!!

Joe does make nice music, I have always wondered why his stuff never gets much play. I kind of like him more the R.Kelly. I liked kelly when I was younger, but as I’ve gotten more mature, he’s beginning to sound sadistic, raunchy, and just plain freakish. I mean you really don’t see the romance in what he makes. Especially since the incidents with the young girls, every time he sings a verse you think he’s talkin about somebodies child.

Well, Joe’s stuff gets played on the urban adult contemporary stations. I’ve heard it on WHUR, KJLH, those type of stations that aren’t owned by conglomerates.

I normally just read news/responds on bossip and leave it at that but this particular post caught my attention. I have to strongly disagree that Joe is irrelevant. This man is indisputably talented, having written/sang some of the best r&b and slow jamz of all time. Where it’s mainly R-kelly’s stacks of child molestation charges that really got him global attention , Joe’s series of amazing songs did the same but in a much more positive light even if it was dimmer. To tell you the truth, I’m a serial music fanatic (particularly quality black music) and I didn’t know/care much of R.kelly until those allegations were made. If R.kelly did do what Joe claims he did then he might as well be one of the under-age girls he went molesting as he proves to have a childish/insecure and desperate nature. Anyway, I guess the point is Joe’s music (whether old or new remains timeless so let the man stroke his own ego if he wants to. He is’t only relevant but significant. How many great love songs can you mention of R.kelly’s. Dont get me wrong i like some of his songs too but they rarely have meanings these days, like ’spirit’ did. The fact is Joe might sing about love a lot but Love has like 1001 meanings and intepretations so there you go.

As someone stated in an previous post you just put his cd in and let it play. R Kelly is garbage and he’s jealous of Joe an artist that can put out good music for entire career.
